For the cost, I have zero complaints so far. It is not a Sony or Samsung, but the only matters for certain things. The colors are great, blacks are deep enough, and I love having google play store for apps. Coming from a Vizio this TV is a godsend.

Update the tv before you use it so airplay can function, watch out for stuck pixels and do not expect the deepest blacks

Love the display, brilliant picture! You will likely want to play with the picture settings but you can adjust it to the color and brightness that looks best to you. Im not a fan of google OS so we just use a Rolu Ultra with it.

The picture is super bright however I had a lot of pixelation. If you use only over the air reception I don't recommend the tv.

Look up what PQ EOTF is and then you will find this TVs biggest issue! The gamma curve is not mapped properly and that means containing the highlights will result in the shadows being pushed to far into the shadows.
I found that it made most movies that were calibrated to HDR 1000 nits or lower (which is most of the HDR content) really poor watching experiences as so many scenes were just way too dark. Some review sites also noted this and I missed it before buying the 75” model.
Even more, the TV has major compatibility issues with eARC and WISA, even though it is certified it didn’t work at all. The Sony I replaced it with, worked right out of the box in these two areas.
The final failing was the fact that reaching out to support and asking about WISA support, what tools were required for the Calman Process, or if Calman Auto Calibrate is in the works… All questions that completely stumped the company that made the TV.
Also, right out of the box skin tones had green splotches and the noise reduction was a sledge hammer in that it also affected HDR content, because the TV applies settings based on color profiles. This literally means you cannot allow the TV to enable Dolby vision, because you’re only getting Chroma 4:4:4 if that isn’t enabled (this is probably pretty standard, but giving the TV control is a real issue, due to these limitations).
As for viewing angles, yes they were reduced by normal IPS standards, but they were not bad at all, much better than VA panels that the competitors are using, so that is positive.
If you’re somebody that really wants a TV that looks good out of the box and just works the way you want, this is not that TV.
Ironically, the U7K actually doesn’t have all these same problems and actually has a very predictable PQ EOTF curve, so maybe check that model out and save some money.

After weeks of investigation I have come to the conclusion that if you are looking for an 85 inch big screen with 4k mini LED you won't find a better one for the price than the Hisense ULED U8. Having visited Best Buy personally to observe the best picture and sound; I must say candidly that this set beats the TCL mini LED!
Plan to purchase as soon as I see the final price on the new 100 inch from Hisense that is coming.
