The end product is an incredible image.. getting there is a lot of frustration not helped by poor manuals along the way and manufacturer poor QA. We carefully used white gloves for the entire build of the screen. To our dismay when we lifted it up there was a clear hand print from during manufacture. Maybe they should read the manual when handling the screen!! We we're suspicious when we took the screen from the tube prior to laying it out and saw someone's dirty finger prints on the backing sheet. Getting hold of Hisense isn't easy to discuss the issue. Building the screen frame is easy apart and then the nightmare of attaching the ALR material using a spring puller tests your patience. I've owned other screens before and this was the most time consuming installation ever. There are multiple errors in the installation manual, when it comes to height for bracket install (two different heights in the manual) and distance from the screen is also listed differently in manual. Finding a tv stand that doesn't cost $1k to have the project at the distance required without being away from the wall was hard, we ended up making our own with Ikea Besta units and Ikea hacks, which looks good. Aligning the project is yet another slow process and the auto geometric adjustment didn't work well. I manually adjusted the geometry once I had it very close by adjusting the project. I'm still not sure if I have the best image the unit can deliver due to poor manual information.

Really cool addition to the family room! Love the size and specs of this projector. The graphics are great and the movies really “pop”! Works best at night and is tolerable during the day, but we do have 3 - 6 foot windows and French doors that allow sunlight in the room.

Debated on whether or not to buy this or just buy a 100 inch glass tv. If I had to do it all over again I would not buy this. First of all it is a bear, for lack of better word, to install. Do not try it yourself. I had two guys from Best Buy come out and do it and they still messed it up, more than once. They had to take it down off the wall four times. For numerous reasons. Needless to say, drilling exte holes, scratching up my walls, because nobody cares about your house like you do. Unfortunately these young kids they send out to do install work do not care at the end of the day. No pride in their work IMO. I am over all impressed with the picture quality. But, once this thing is on the WALL, and you have it calibrated perfectly, which is impossible to calibrate the screen perfectly, then you cannot touch anything. You can't touch the stand you have the projector on, you can't touch the projector, you can't touch the screen. You touch any of it ever so slightly, and it's going to knock off the center of the picture on the screen and you'll be spending hours trying to get get it right again. Then there's the matter of cleaning the screen? You know all to well it's going to get dirty. Dust happens! Especially if you have a ceiling fan in the same room, you're basically just throwing dust on this screen. I have not thoroughly looked at the cleaning instructions as of yet, but you're not going to take a bottle of Windex like you could with a glass screen and clean it. Then there's the matter of keeping the little piece of glass on the projector clean where the projection comes from. It to collects dust. Again you're not just spraying Windex down in there and wiping it off. For me, this 120in amazing TV is a fail. Mostly for the soul fact that you can't touch it, move it, breathe on it, or in my opinion adequately clean it. If you have children don't even think about buying this! Do not let my opinion sway your decision, I still give it four out of five stars. But again, if I had to do it all over again, I would buy a 100 inch glass screen TV and hang it on the wall. I'm thinking about returning this but I'm not sure I can return it with a clear conscience just because I don't like it :o(

We bought this for our theater room that we made up stairs and I do luv it excellent picture in the dark and with the lights on and for the price I think was a great deal even comes with its own screen we paired it with a Sonos surround system I would suggest having it installed can be a little tricky if your not familiar with how to set up the screen I think there was only one down side and that would be it is a fixed 120” and I was told can only be set to 120” screen no larger or smaller

If you’re looking at this item, it’s because you have the space. You can see from my photos the difference between a 75 inch TV and this 120 inch beast. The picture is not as bright as a TV in daylight but it is very acceptable if you have a way of eliminating some of the light. This product shines at nighttime and when the content is 4k. Feels like my own theater. Also, the projector does not require extensive wiring or installing. The frame construction is not difficult, but give yourself plenty of time. If you have the space, go for it unless you have thousands more to spend for a 98 inch tv that still doesn’t measure up to 120!!! Remember, every time you go to the theater, it’s a projector that’s providing the image you’re watching.

The picture quality and color are both great. It's a hassle to align the picture exactly inside the screen. And after a year of use there is a dead pixel.

I hesitated due to the cost, but it was so worth it. Great picture in the daytime and with the curtains drawn or at night it is like being in your own private movie theater. Went with a Sonos arc sound bar and wireless Sonos woofer. It is incredible. Football is amazing on this! Go Bills! Geek Squad was incredible. I cannot appreciate my install team enough. One tip, if in a room without high ceilings, be careful of how tall your console is. I would say 13" max

The projector I received was faulty and had to be returned. The image quality was poor, and there were issues with the focus and color accuracy. I hope others have better luck or that Hisense addresses these quality control concerns in the future.

I bought the Hisense 120L9G on clearance for $2400. As this included the screen (probably a $1,000 value) I am elated with this purchase. The frame did have a small issue, but Hisense corrected this in about a weeks time by sending me a new part. Set up was not hard, but it took a while. Positive - Value (@ $2400 including the screen) - Great picture in a dark room. Columbo (peacock) never looked so good. Promo for Avatar (water) was like being in the theater (better than my highest expectations) - Hisense support - Software is intuitive and helpful - Headache free (screen was designed to work for this projector) Negatives - Retail price is double what I paid, and I don’t think it is worth it at retail price - This is fixed at 120.” While we wouldn’t go bigger and I don’t think we’d want to go smaller, I think this made setting up the projector a little more cumbersome - We just moved in and don’t have blinds or shades. During the day the picture is really washed out, even on a very overcast day. The ALR aspect of the screen isn’t as effective as I thought it would be. - The original packaging is huge and cumbersome!!! (You can open the original package and move the screen and laser tv separately so it isn’t such a chore). But moving it and setting it up is a two person job! - We had an issue with the frame. It was a small issue, a screw hole was drilled bigger than it should be and Hisense was quick to fix. But when you spend so much, you expect quality machining - If the sword you die on is dark levels, look elsewhere

The most important thing about this projector is that if you supply an image source that is 4K, UHD, 60 or 120 FPS you will get a picture every bit as wonderful as a fine movie theater. There are several of these sources available streaming now for movies. Notes: The package box is very large. Either have it delivered or you will need an large SUV or pickup. Six foot bed and two people. The instructions and videos are not the best, but a lay person can put it together. Pointers: Besides a Phillips head screwdriver, you will also need one with a very small head to fasten some of the parts. Like the size of one for small electronics and battery covers. When assembling the screen material to the frame, it is very important to make certain that the corners are as close to evenly positioned as you can get them, take a few extra minutes to line the screen up. After the screen is mounted on the wall, note that for the initial setup only or if you recalibrate the screen, you must be connected to local wifi and must not have wired ethernet plugged it. When first installing, make certain all of the projector feet are retracted fully, then adjust the individual feet as needed to level the projector. The geocorrection works perfectly. All of the Android features and play store work well. The HDMI 2 input is for support of ARC from your media receiver. If you have light sources in the room which you think are bothering your viewing, then an easy solution is to install Cree connected bulbs (many types sold including for recessed lights). We did this in 2 locations right above the screen. From phone, Alexa, Google, you can turn them on/off, dim or brighten and change to any color, so no problems with the viewing. Overall the projector image and color quality is excellent and all features work very well. No complaints and a big, big upgrade over 75 inch TV. Absolutely no glare is a big plus along with very wide viewing angle.

WOW. It took some time to actually get around to playing with this baby as I was not in town for the summer. But now that I am using it. WOW. My fiancée and I have been BLOWN away by the picture quality, especially in HDR. We have this in a basement. So the natural light is not an issue, but even with the lights on the visuals are still crazy. Just watched the ObiWan series and the colors bounced off the screen like nothing either of us has ever seen. The 120 inches helps. But, I am a Plasma TV aficionado, and I miss them (luckily my plasma from 10+ years ago still works and matches most modern Tv quality), and my fiancée brought her OLED HDR Tv which is top of the line. On HDR we see the quality difference of her OLED over my Plasma, but for all SDR content plasma is still king. This Lasertv matches both in any DR. Certain scenes in ObiWan were so crystal clear in HDR I almost teared up. We also watched some football and baseball and Formula 1 in SDR and they looked great. (Can’t wait to watch hockey.)Then watched Drive to Survive in HDR and the formula 1 racing scenes in that show were beyond belief. If it wasn’t for the comfort of my couch I would have thought I was riding on the wing of a Ferrari. The screen is BIG. make sure you have space on your wall for it. Also be aware you will probably have to find a low table or desk on which to sit the projector. The table I purchased is only 19 inches tall. You will have to play with a few color settings in certain picture modes. A few seem to have a bit too much red hue which was noticeable on skin tone. We are both overjoyed with the system. BB put the screen together for us. Which was great as the screen has many parts. Great customer service. About to pair it with an Nakamichi 9.2.4 with E-arc Dolby Atmos. Movie theatres may be a thing of the past for this guy and his gal…

    Very pleased with projector

Very happy with my Hisense projector. My barrier to entry into getting a projector before was where to put it. I didn’t want to mount from ceiling nor did I want to have it sit in the middle of my room. Well this Hisense projector solved those issues with being able to have the projector mere inches from the wall. The picture is huge on the 120” screen and the colors are very vibrant on the out of the box settings. I was concerned there would be some lag issues watching sports or fast moving movies but that’s not the case. I have been very happy with the pictures quality watching sports. My kids love playing video games on such a huge screen and the picture detail from the projector is awesome. Also very impressed with the stock sound from this system. More than enough to get you going. The set up took sometime. I recommend having an installer set it up. And as you see from the picture below it took a little time to dial in the picture. Overall I’m very pleased with my purchase and will enjoy this projector for years to come.

I originally purchased the Hisense L5 with the 100" ALR screen. The L5 is amazing!! Then went to a friend's house that recently installed the L9... WOW!! Absolutely amazing color. With that said, i purchased the L9 with the 120" screen for our movie room. To be honest, you wont notice the difference unless you have watched the L5 & L9. The L9 colors and triple laser make a huge different.

All the specs are there. Got the unit on sale for $3500 with free total tech installation. I couldn’t be any more happier. The unit starts up as quick or quicker than a traditional flat screen for ease of operation. The picture quality is amazing is all that I can say. It’s still a deal even if you purchase while not on sale. I highly recommend.

I was alittle apprehensive about how watchable this thing will be in the daytime. I am happy to report that it performs excellently! regular daytime TV looks fantastic. Dark movies will give it some trouble in the daytime. Black levels arent great, even at night. But, its an easy tradeoff because of the shear size of the image.
