So who needs a expensive phone with the fastest, latest ,greatest CPU and a ton of storage for pics and movies? Who needs a super zoom, high resolution rear camera or high pixel front facing camera for selfies? Who needs a phone almost too big to fit in your pocket and won't last most of the day on a full charge? And do you really need to have a phone that has a standby time of a few days? Would you like to have a headphone jack and the ability to listen to FM radio? Well you're in luck if you get this phone. The phone feels good in my hand. Doesn't feel like cheap or like it's missing parts. Even without the flagship CPU and huge storage space this phone is pretty snappy. I didn't notice it being any slower than my S21 Ultra. I like that it has a plain install of Android without a bunch of bloatware from the vendor or carrier. Didn't realize how much I missed just having a solid phone to use that just worked. I have all my pics backed up to the cloud and than I archive a decent amount on the phone so that leaves me not panicking for storage space on this phone (128GB of storage) which will fill up pretty quick. The camera is respectable and I don't take pics for weddings or a side gig so I am very content with the quality I get form this phone. Standby time is ridiculous with this thing. I had it on my desk for a few days when I was sick and didn't touch it and when I turned it on it had 99 percent of a charge left. I turn my phone off at night like a crazy person, I know. 😉 If you are looking for a good phone but your budget is tight definitely give this one some consideration.

I've been a fan of HMD phones for a long time, as they were the ODM for Nokia the last few years. This is continuing in that tradition. A simple phone with modest specs that will work well as a daily driver phone, without all the unnecessary extras or features honestly you won't use much on a daily phone. Setup is easy, pop out nano-SIM tray, add your nano-SIM and microSD card if using, slide it in and turn on. Switching SIMS on my carrier cricket is no fuss, and no different here on this phone. Google has made transferring your stuff easy, just follow along with the prompts and next thing you know you have your phone all set and ready. I do recommend checking for updates on Android as I had the Dec patch, and once that completed no issues using my applications on the phone. Phone itself has a decent processor, and good amount of RAM, so app loading/switching is responsive. On the few calls I had no issues and the battery life is solid that I'm easily getting a day out of it, so no issues there. HMD is also good at having the size of the device open, so finding a case to protect from drops was no issue. Overall this is a perfect phone for someone who doesn't need a gaming computer in their pocket, but wants something they can use for GPS navigation, music listening and everything else. This i a great phone and very happy with it and I hope you will be too.

    Good inexpensive phone

The HMD Vibe is NOT a flagship phone. If that's what you're looking for you will be disappointed. What is it then? A decent inexpensive android phone. Good for those who don't want or need all the bells and whistles (or cost) of a flagship phone. The not so good in my opinion, and this is comparing it to more expensive phones: Light and feels plastic-y. Definitely get a good case for it. Screen glass is not named brand like Corning or Gorilla. HMD calls it "Toughened glass" You'll want a screen protector as well. The mediocre: camera quality is so so. You wont be using this for influencer videos in most cases. However for the average person, the pic quality is fine, especially when transferred to a PC. No wireless charging. But on such an inexpensive phone it's no big deal nor expected. Not as smooth operating when opening apps like on more expensive phones. So now the good, and why you should get one: Connects to any network via sim card. We tested on my MIL's Verizon network and on my T-Mobile network by swapping sim cards. No problems at all. Inexpensive but still packed with decent features. Call quality is great. No noticeable lag when connecting Bluetooth earbuds. Battery life is amazing. If you're on it constantly the battery drains down like an average flagship phone. Heavy video use will drop the battery fairly quick like on any other phone, 100% to 12% in 6 hours. With light app use, watching a few short form vids, texting, and calling battery lasted me 3 full days before going under 15% It actually comes with it's own charging brick AND Usb C cable. Flagships dont, so a definitely plus. All in all, I like it, especially once I got out of comparing it to top of the line flagship phones. It does everything a more expensive phone does, for a lot cheaper, but a little slower.

Right out of the gates, let me say this - I wouldn't use this phone as *MY* daily driver, but it does do the job of either A) A backup phone or B) A phone for a youngster/teen who doesn't need performance. It runs all the apps I typically do , but some of them were a little sluggish. For someone who doesn't use their phone for their job, the speed was perfectly acceptable. The display was bright and clear, but color saturation could be better. The camera - one word.... "Ew".... pics were blurry, grainy, and just downright bad. Colors were washed out, there was very little definition, and I hate to bash a phone from the same company that makes Nokia (which I've seen really good stuff under the Nokia name), the camera was just bad on this. Maybe it's the fact that I've been spoiled by the likes of Pixel and Samsung phones, but that's not what this is , nor has anyone put this phone in the same class as those two, so, for the price, plus the fact that there's no contract involved, you wind up with a phone that does what it's needed to do - make calls and occasionally run apps. Bottom line - it's an inexpensive phone, it runs like an inexpensive phone, and there's no contracts involved.

If you are looking for a phone for someone who may not be too tech savvy, and just needs basic features...then this is the phone for you. The HMD vibe is a pretty decent phone that gives you access to pretty good features for the price. Like many high-end phones, you get pin or facial recognition unlocking features. So, that is a plus for me. It comes unlocked, so you can just pop in your sim card and be on your wat ro making calls and surfing the web in no-time. Often times, I find myself missing the android platform (iPhone user), as there is more app support for it. This phone if an Android phone, and also has Google apps integrated to it. Another big plus is how lightweight it is and how easy it is to navigate. One of the biggest downsides to it is that it can be a bit slow/laggy, but that is to be expected for a phone within this price range. So, don't expect to be able to store a bunch of things and have a smooth running phone. Overall, I think that the price range, and the features, make for a pretty good phone for a child or older adult.

The Vibe phone came well packaged and includes a standard USB C charging cable. The illustration on the inside cover of the box showed where to insert the SIM and the memory card and was very helpful. I was surprised that the Vibe was almost identical to my name brand low-end phone (more on that later). The phone came charged and ready to go. The set up was easy, and if you wanted to copy everything from another phone, it showed how you could tether and copy. I chose to just set up and connect with my email accounts. I found it interesting that during setup, verifying some of the accounts had to be done on my old phone (that no longer had a SIM), but my phone was viable so that wasn't an issue. That is probably a function of the software, not the phone anyway. I liked the size of the phone, the clarity of the screen, the power and sound buttons on the side - a very functional and nice looking phone. However, it lacked in some key areas - the call quality was not good - callers stated that it was somewhat quiet (call sound was at full volume) and almost "tinny". It also went into "Emergency Calls only" mode quite a few times in just a couple of days. I am in a rural setting, but when I put the SIM back into my old phone, I had no signal issues. I could not get the Google voice search to work, even though permissions were on in settings. I use that feature frequently so that was frustrating. It also came with bloatware that I didn't care for - but those could be easily uninstalled. The camera and battery life were both acceptable - especially for the price of the phone. Overall, I really liked the phone itself. If the call quality was better and had better signal strength, I would keep using it. I would probably recommend it still to someone in a good reception area that wanted an inexpensive phone, but for me it didn't work out.

Okay, where do I start? Hardware - It's got some GREAT hardware, and appears to be well made overall. The back of the phone feels good to the touch, along with the sides of the phone. The power button, and volume feel pretty good as well. The screen is actually very nice, and when watching content it's really clear. Not the brightest on a phone I've used, but for sure clear enough to please nearly 99% of people who might look it over. Only a tech head would have something serious to say. Performance - Well, it does what it's supposed to do. Social media, streaming, text, etc. It does those things all very good. I didn't notice any lag, or the phone having issues getting things done. However, life you push this phone to the limits...it could start to struggle at times. As it does not have tons of RAM like other phones these days. But as stated, it will get the job done for you. Cameras - MEH. You will be able to take decent photos, and take decent videos on this phone. When testing, I was not jumping up and down or printing out what I saw. The footage produced is decent, and gets the basics done for you. Price is cool, but it competes with others that offer more for the same price.

⚠️HMD VIBE WARNING DO NOT BUY THIS TRASH⚠️

This phone, hmd vibe, is a $40 paperweight. It's worthless unless you're looking for a ugly expensive paper weight. There's nothing good about it but by far the worst thing about it is the keypad! Anytime you want to type anything it takes ten times longer than it should because the keypad on the screen pops up and disappears about every 3-4 letters! Sometimes after every letter you have to pause and try to get the keyboard to pop back up because it's completely random if it will let you pull it back up or if it just refuses to pop back up. It's so infuriating! It doesn't hold a charge, drops calls, crap screen, the phone as a whole is slow as molasses, it's trash DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE I promise you'll be disappointed. O and it's not just the individual hmd vibe I have because I returned the first one thinking it was just a defective phone which could happen to any brand but no! The replacement one I got does the exact same thing. it actually might be worse than the first one. I don't know how a company is allowed to make such a worthless product and sell it here in America it should be illegal! I WANT MY MONEY BACK OR A NEW PHONE but that's not going to happen so I'm going to copy and paste this review everywhere I can to warn as many people as possible not to waste their money on this garbage!! I only gave it one star because 0 wasn't available
