As a huge Harry Potter fan, I went into this game with big expectations that it would deliver a fun and rewarding experience and I'm here to tell you that... well. It definitely does just that. Hogwarts legacy is an amazing Harry Potter game, It's not the best rpg in the world though but not a terrible one either. As a Harry potter game It checks all the boxes for what you would want. immersive Open world exploration completely full to scale castle where you can explore every nook and Cranny, spells you can learn and use thoroughout the world, ridabke brooms and beasts, lore accurate story telling, side quests and decently interesting characters. My favorite part about this game is the fact that you can explore all your favorite areas from the movies and books and the above and beyond details they put in to make this work. The downsides for me are character customization, its good but not amazing and the game has its fair share of glitches but nothing that ruins the experience for me. I only hope with future updates or a sequel this gets better. I also wish this game had a similar system to that of the newer assassins creeds where you can really rollplay your epxerience by picking which people you want to romance, attack or become friends with. It would be much cooler if you could actually pick who your friends are in this game and even though it does have a choice based dialogue system its not super in depth but again definitely not the worst ive seen in a game. The map, combat and story is where this games stengths are which is vital in modern games. If you are an average or jardcore fan of this franchise you will love this game if you are a newcomer you may or may not enjoy the game, especially if you are looking for skyrim or witcher type of experience. Overall great game! 8/10

This game is a fun adventure that allows you to experience the magic of Hogwart’s Academy and ties ain a good amount of exploration which can be done in multiple modalities including teleporting and flying on a broom. The story is bery intriguing and the writers did a great job tying in a lot of nods to the books (that take place about a hundred years in the future). Some of the quests can feel repetitive, but I found the story to be so fun that I didn’t recognize this until someone pointed it out. All around I think this is a game that Harry Potter fans will love and enjoy getting lost in the lore and magic of it.

    Feeling like a kid again

I loved Harry Potter as a kid: went to the midnight releases for all of the books and would read the books the next day! I went to the midnight releases for almost all of the movies. I have a child now who has also fallen in love with the Harry Potter universe. I couldn't have been more excited when I heard about an open-world game that let's you be a student at Hogwarts... So of course I had to pre-order the deluxe edition as soon as I could. This fame made me feel like I was a kid again. It brought back so many nostalgic memories and really just brought that whimsical magic that the Harry Potter universe is known for. It's a 'cozy' game if thay makes sense. The gameplay was engaging and smooth, sounh and graphics were excellent and I thought the game offered a lot of stuff to do as far as puzzles, collectibles and quests. The only downside I would say is that replay ability is lower than other open world games such as Skyrim or Breath of the Wild or Red Dead Redemption. But I don't feel like thays such a fair argument since my playthrough was over 40 hours and I still hadn't reached 100% completion. Also, the Best Buy digital edition delivery tgorigh email was super smooth and easy.

One of the best games I've ever played! Good graphics and good story too. The option to have the game digitally downloaded from Best Buy to my Xbox is so much easier to do than buying a physical copy, and worrying that the disc might get lost or damaged.

As someone who grew up reading the Harry Potter books and watching the movies on repeat, this game could not have been any better. I was most surprised at the world building, which was the first time I could genuinely visualize Hogwarts and the surrounding areas. It brought so much nostalgia without it feeling like I was just rewatching or rereading the original series. It definitely breathed a new life into them for me, and I would recommend this to anyone even if they’re not a fan as there are so many things to do and explore that you can’t help but love the game.

I wish I could give half starts, because this is ultimately a 4.5/5. I mean just being in the Harry Potter universe and being "open world" nets you 3 stars. The rest are achieved by the intriguing yet predictable story, the array of things you're capable of doing that you've always wanted to do, and detracted by the lack of some gameplay controls and open world wonkiness. It's overall a solid game. One they tried to make fun for all ages, which is a bit boring, being that you're a 5th year, meaning you're like 15-16 yrs old in the game, and it feels like they feared it towards a 10yr old. Some of the quests are meh, they are literally go here and then come back....not very engrossing at some points. Overall, it opens up the magical world for those of us who were kids when this world first came out 25 yrs ago, and allows a younger generation to jump into a classic.
