This works great with our Hue light system. It can also be fun... Ask it a silly questions like " Earl Grey Hot" and see what it does.

The Google home sounds good and is very convenient for my family.

Great sound, easy to use. I like the neutral color not an eyesore.

So I got this for my birthday from my wife. We went back and forth between the Amazon Echo and the Google Home. What made it very difficult was that we are Amazon Prime members, but google is where we have everything...Email, Calendar, contacts, etc. She went with the Google home and right after she did, i've loved almost everything about it. You can configure it from your computer or personal device (I use my andriod phone) to pick a music player, Pandora, Google Play or Spotify. You can pick and setup a large number of other options as well, (timezone, name, physical location, call an Uber, etc.) The 'create timer' or 'Remind me in 10 minutes to take cake out of the oven' feature does not work "yet". So while the instructions tell you you can set a reminder, it's not available yet per Google Home Reply. You cannot send a text message to anyone in your contact list yet....which is very sad. You cannot call anyone on your contact list yet either...both of which are on the Echo and functional (as far as I'm told...I've not bought one yet). All in all i'm very happy with it....i just wish it had some more of the other features that we use on a regular basis, but with the reply of "I'm sorry, I can't send text messages yet", I am hopeful that it's coming soon with an update and not require me to purchase a new product.

I own two Google Homes. To be straight up honest, the device has not tapped its potential yet. So many of Google's own services do not work with Home yet. You can't set an event on your calendar, you can't take a note, you can't have it find your phone, etc... I find most of this inexcusable for a launch. Those are their own basic services. So why do I own two? Because I have faith all this stuff will come soon and with it a lot more partnerships with other companies. It works with Youtube, Google Music, and the Chromecast. But for now, the key is it works with IFTTT. Now IFTTT has its own set of problems, but using that service, I can have Google Home turn on my stereo and tv with a simple voice command. I have some WEMO power adapters and plugged a few lights in. So when I'm in bed, a simple voice command shuts off my light. This allows the device to have extended purpose even before all the high powered partnerships come to play. And I definitely like being able to say "Hey Google, I'm in bed" and have it say "goodnight" and shut off my lights.

I bought on special at 29.99 for that price I will try. I have some alexa speakers. The sound that produce that little speaker is very good fill the complete room without problems at half of volume. The problem is the smart is no smart as alexa is . But for the price is good and deserve a opportunity .

We have the echo dot and now google home side-by-side, Otha can turn on/off the Phillips Hue lights and google is a little better gathering info from the web. The quality of the speaker for music is quite decent, whereas the echo dot definitely isn't for listening to music.

I love my Google Home! Before work, I can hear my daily news summary, catch the weather and know what my commute will entail. When I am curious about something, I can just say, "Hey Google" and find out the answer. If it is too quiet in the house, I can play music without leaving my chair. Just fun and convenient -- and I don't even have a smart house.

I have the google home and google mini both of them are such a good idea to have your house smart and helpful at the time when need to do something if you connect with your hue lights you can also turn all the lights off when you leave!

Cool little product. We got this as part of a promotion when buying 4 appliances. Just another bonus. Works great, although we don't use much.

I was able to set this device up within minutes. The whole family can easily talk to the device. Love using it in the kitchen for background music. Actually has a very clear speaker. Only gave 4 stars because the cord tends to get in the way. It would be easier to use if it had a battery. Also, if the tv is on near the device, google home does not pick up on my voice.

This was purchased as a kind of 'gadget', but, shortly thereafter, I realized it is a totally useful technology. I added my Phillips Hue lights and my Nest Thermostat to the app and I can control everything with a simply command. I will be adding to my collection of Wifi connected devices! It also sounds really really good, when simply streaming music.

The echo has a lot to offer, but having Google behind you gives you unlimited potential. My wife wanted the echo for song requests. I showed her Google play music and YouTube red both work with Google and she loves the new digital addition to our family. Getting weather, traffic, music, and games from just a quick question makes life flow so we'll.

Google home has many benefits . It plays music, you can ask them to translate to Spanish when cooking it can help when you do not have all the ingredients . You can have the weather told to you also read off your calendar to tell you your appts. I like it better than Amazon smart home. I only wish it worked with Pinterest so it can read the receipe to me. Lol

I think this product is much more intuitive and has better responses compared to the Amazon echo. The content is better and more through. The speaker is also quite impressive. Still way behind what you would expect out of a personal assistant. I hope Google adds a lot of functionality as the home learns.

Right off the bat this has been amazing. So convenient to have Google home to ask questions, get updates, play music, check the weather, and have a little fun with those special little "easter eggs" built in. IT works very well, syncs right into the home wifi and even already knows about all the other compatible smart devices in the network.
