The Google Home is a great addition to any home. The setup was easy and requires a wifi connection. This is not a bluetooth speaker. We have a Spotify account so listening to music is very easy. Home has some fun hidden features like trivia and mad libs. Home can also play things for you on your chromecast and tell you news, weather and traffic facts.

I purchased this as a gift for my parents, when trying to decide to get Google vs. Alexa. The value for this (being cheaper than echo) is great, it's speakers sound well. But I do warn that Google does pick up every commercial they have so it will do things like change the nest temperature like the commercials! Overall, good value for the money.

I like this smart speaker better than Alexa as google search engine is much more advanced. Also it does not need a specific commands as in Alexa. It can understand the simple english sentences and respond accordingly. Some of the things it lacks is: 2 way audio (Drop-in in Alexa) and integration with Netflix is still not working.

The Google Home has been a fun item to have. I bought this for myself and have it placed in my living room so I can hear it pretty much throughout my small house. I mostly use it for music so I haven't asked it to do too many other functions. It has great sound and you can tell it to play louder or softer. Really glad I chose it over its competition.

Got this for my fiancé! He looooooves it! I’ll be getting another one for the bedroom and a mini one for each room in the house

Google Home has promise given one key reason depending upon when you read this. On December 1st, they've released their SDK so other developers than the 5 or 6 it launched with was very limited will vastly improve its functionality. To get an accurate assessment for reviewing Google Home on the net, I strongly recommend you use Google's advanced search feature and set the time limit to start on December 1st as a lot of what has been complained about since it's release on November 4th, those comments and reviews that have already saturated the net will be irrelevant now that developers from all companies have their hands on the SDK and can write APIs to interact with it. Basically if you're already deep into Google's ecosystem with Gmail, Google Now, Chromecast etc then YES, go ahead and get it. If you're on the fence about pulling the trigger due to current limitations like being able to be connected to one account only then my advice is wait a month or so then reassess your purchase. This is a nifty little gadget. It’s couce recognition it’s actually much better than I expected. It ensures for example that only the registered account holder has access to features like making phone calls or accessing the calendar. Sound quality is good, the microphone could be better, I sometimes find myself almost screaming for it to hear me

I had an Amazon Echo Dot and was looking for a similar smart home device that had better speakers. I purchased this Google Home and also received a Google Home mini as a gift, both of which have better speakers than the dot for listening to music. I am happy with the purchase, although the Google home needs to "learn" more commands.

It is a little complicated to set up in the beginning, but it gets easier to add things as you play with it a while. I always forget that I can just ask questions and don't need "a gadget" connected to it all the time. For example, Google acts a calculator if you ask it to add a series of numbers. The sound quality is amazing for such a little thing, too!

We bought this for my husband for Fathers Day and he just loves it. Amazing how well it picks up your voice properly. I have had items before that are so frustrating because it takes 3-5 times before the machine truly understands what you say. This is instant!!!!! This was the one the employee at Best Buy recommended and I'm so glad. Love It

First product towards making my Home “Smart Home” and now with upgrades like Bluetooth and calling it’s awesome product to own.

This smart speaker really is worth the $50 I paid for it during the Black Friday sale. It has amazing sound quality with a wider range of connection compared to its little brother. The speaker feels as good as it looks and quite frankly, I would buy this for my friends. Great product for home!

This is a fun device to have for a family at the kitchen table and the sound is great. Very nice to be able to look up cooking times and weather reports without holding a device. The only thing I am missing is the ability to add calendar events and for it to recognize multiple users. That seems to be in the works, but for now you are stuck with timers and alarms.

Solid and very useful piece of tech. I control my Nest with this and do other things like listen to music. Highly recommended.

...the hardware is excellent. Excellent sound, low profile, and intuitive. The software is a year behind in functionality. Google translates your voice MUCH better than other options out there, but integration is limited at the time of this writing. I bought it because I trust the android/google ecosystem to be more versatile than the competition in the future.

It doesn't get much better than this! I was typing a report at the kitchen table. I said OK GOOGLE, PLAY R&B HITS. Guess what? It worked like a charm. The phone rang.. I said OK GOOGLE VOLUME DOWN,,, I didn't have to move!!! I also asked it for a synonym for a word while typing my report. It is like an internet assistant.Best purchase ever!!!
