Really Cool Table that allows you to chose your deign to be created by a little marble that rolls around. Download the app and the different designs and it marble does all the work. The body is plastic but durable. The glass top allows you to set items on it. There is nothing to complain about this device. It not a need more of a fun item to buy and a great conversation piece to have at home. The led light changes colors or allows you to select your won color. Many options on the application. It doesn't take long for a design to complete. The longest was an hour or two. It comes with the sand and a little rake to make the sand ready for the next one. My wife and kids enjoyed this and planning the next creation. I received the larger version which was bigger than I thought. I think either are fine but you may want the smaller one if your table is on the small side. If you are into different and unique things, this may be the conversation piece you are looking for. You will enjoy it.

I was so excited to get this...but it never worked. The app doesn't work. BestBuy messed up on the tracking so I couldn't initiate a return (it would not register as delivered.) Contacted customer service...told me to try at the store (bought online)...and the closest store is 2.5 hours away. So I have a $400 giant paperweight. :( Boo.

Our lives are full of stressful situations, starting with our daily commute till we get home and start getting ready for the next day. Sometimes you just need to sit down for a minute and just breathe and decompress. That is where the HoMedics Drift Meditation Sand Table comes in to help you to relax and to let all your troubles float away for the time. It is truly mesmerizing watching this little artist work on these very intricate designs and ends up becoming a prime focus in your home. I usually sit at the Drift sand table daily with my cup of coffee and getting lost in the serenity. SETUP: The setup process is simple. You will need to download the “Drift” app which can be found in either the playstore or the App store. You will need to setup the table and plug the power cable in. Once that is complete, place the sand into the table, even it out as best as you can with the provided comb and place the steel ball in the table. Place the glass top on the table and watch the magic happen. This tiny little metal ball will turn sand into art and keep you captivated while doing so. DRIFT APP: The drift application allows you to do everything from setting up a schedule to making a playlist of your favorite patterns, and there are tons of patterns to choose from, or can select from already created playlists. You can also control the speed and the brightness of the light and the colors you want to choose. The app will also you the current pattern at work and what the next one will be. You can pause, play and even go to the next design at will. CONS: The only thing that bothers me about the Drift table is that, even though you pair the device with your phone via Bluetooth it does not stay connected or remembers the device. Every time you close out the app and log back in you will need to reselect the device from your list of Bluetooth devices to do anything. Also, I think the Drift can also use a speaker of some sort to allow you to play some tranquil music while watching the magic happen. Overall, aside from the little Bluetooth issues, the Drift is truly mesmerizing. It has helped me unwind even on my craziest days and also has become the center of attention whenever someone comes over. It captures attention and captivates anyone who looks at it. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for some serenity.

It's fun to leave it running. I peek at it every so often and comment, "hey buddy nice job!" or "huh, how do you make that pattern work?" It's fascinating to watch it travel around its plain of fine sand to see how it persistently and precisely plows its path, controlling where each granule of sand goes to create shapes and textures. It looks like a fine piece of art or furniture. The construction and finish are elegant. The lighting is really nice. It is perfectly diffused around the edges of the sand pit and it's adjustable for brightness, color, and even the white temperature. As for the function -- it does its job nicely. Sometimes I sit on the floor and watch it work, trying to figure out what pattern it's going to make, or how it's going to execute the shapes and textures. The machine inside does make sound and that can break the illusion. Fortunately, it shares space with our pets' water fountain, and if I play soothing music on top of that it can mostly mask the sound. I found a pattern where it abruptly reverses direction and that causes a loud squawk. My biggest complaint about it is the app. You must use the android or iphone app to control it. The android app is arcane. It has a low-text approach, so it took a whole lot of hunting and trial and error to understand how to control it. It would be nice to be able to pick simple colors rather than having an infinite spectrum. It would also be nice to be able to add colors to playlists. I did have some connectivity issues, but it seems better since it had a firmware update.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect when I ordered the HoMedics Drift Meditation Sand Table. However, once it arrived I was quite smitten with it as was my wife and father-in-law! The unit is large and a bit on the heavy side. It came packaged beautifully and sturdily to prevent damage. The sand table can be ordered in either white or black color. There were minimal instructions that came with the sand table so I proceeded to assemble the unit and found it quite easy to set up. To make the unit work requires an electrical outlet to plug it into and the download of the HoMedics Drift app to control the unit and make it run. The software was easy to download but less intuitive to setup and use. After a number of tries, the HoMedics Drift Meditation Sand Table finally responded to the app commands I input. The software does require you to download additional "patterns" of which there many to enjoy the sand table to its fullest. When I initially ordered the unit, my wife wondered what we would ever use it for. It has now become the center of attention in our living room and captivates everyone who sees it in action. No one can resist the mesmerizing and captivating action that is calming and quite interesting.

It would be a MASSIVE understatement to say that we are surrounded by stress. Normally, to escape stress, I will game, read a book or watch a movie/series. But sometimes, there’s too much ‘noise’ in my head that prevents me to focus on what I am trying to enjoy. The Homedics Drift appeared on my radar and I was curious about it. Unfortunately, during the time that the Drift was on its way to me, the noise and stress increased exponentially with the passing of two of my cats within three days of each other. I was a mess. I couldn’t focus or follow through with normal escapism activities no matter how hard tried. Then, the Drift arrived during my grieving. Setup: Putting the Drift together is easy and doesn’t require any tools. There’s the large, shallow base where you pour the two small bags of white sand into. I used the included rake to even out the sand as instructed, placed the metal sphere in the center, and then placed the glass top into place. As soon as I pressed the power button, the soft glowing light and sphere came to life. Immediately, the sphere started to create an image in the sands. Customize Your Calm: I downloaded the Homedics Drift app and connected it via Bluetooth to the Drift table. From there, I discovered that there are DOZENS of patterns that can be created. You can even customize the lighting to your liking and even set the table to come on via timer. You can even set the speed of the sphere. There are even Christmas and garden themes that can be created. I hope that there will be some Halloween patterns released. At the time of this review, there are no options to create your own patterns but who knows what could be released in a future update. Calming Distraction: As I mentioned earlier, I was under a lot of stress when my Drift arrived. Upon its activation, my other cat, Harley, took notice of the moving sphere beneath the glass. She was focused on it and was determined to study the foreign moving object. I was smiling, but at the same time, I was also fixated on how the little ball was moving and creating the pattern. Simple pleasures and all. What I enjoy about the Drift is seeing what pattern is going to be created next since I have it set on shuffle patterns. The table itself is sturdy and can handle a cat or a beverage on top of it without consequence. The Drift sits on a table in my living room where visitors can appreciate it. It’s a conversation piece. But at the end of the day, the Drift was a tool for me to distract myself from stress and grief. And if it can do that for me, then I am positive that it will alleviate the stresses in your life.

After using this for a while, I'm finding that I really enjoy it! I wasn't expecting much given that meditation is difficult and having something like this could be a distraction more than anything to help focus, but overall it's nice. Set-up: The physical set-up of this is very easy. It comes with two baggies of sand that you pour into the bowl and spread around a bit with the included scraper. Then, just drop the ball in the center, and turn it on. Software: The app to set up the table is a bit odd. FIRST THING: update the firmware. There is nothing in the app that tells you to update the firmware, but if you try to do anything else first, the app will just keep crashing. Once the update is done, you can download "playlists" of different patterns for it to run through. These are all pretty nice and geometric. There are a few that look like pictures of flowers and such, but I prefer the abstract images. You can also select what colors you want to see (single or cycling through), whether you want it to pulse, and how bright the light is. Placement: Depending on the use that you want, you can put this on a short stool as an end-table, or it may have to go onto another table, which is a bit awkward. Currently, I have mine on a small stand beneath another table with a glass table-top, which is an effect that I really like.

I was so excited to get the meditation table. Connecting the app to the table was easy enough. I picked a design to run and clicked play. It struggled with it to start with. It told me it would be 80% done but it barely left the center of the table. After hours and multiple days of messing with it and never actually getting a completed design, I reached out to homedics support and found out my unit was defective. They did replace it. It did take some time to get my replacement but I'm happy they were able to work with me. This replacement unit renewed my faith in this product. The new unit completed the first design in just minutes. It's beautiful and calming! The sound of the steel ball moving through the sand is actually soothing. The lighting can be as bright or as dark as you'd like and can be changed to different colors as fast or as slow as is preferred. There are over 100 patterns to choose from and some even have words. Some aren't symmetrical at all, have holiday designs, etc. There's also the option to pause between completed designs but I like coming home and seeing something new in the works. I will take some time and sit and watch for a while to relax after a rough day. I do love how this meditation table has given me a way to focus and de-stress! it IS wonderful for meditation! I would absolutely recommend to anyone wanting a new way to find a calm way to de-stress and meditate.

A bit bigger then I pictured, but that is my fault. I was picturing having it on a shelf when it isn’t in use and it is too large for that. It is easy to set up. Watching the patterns as they form is relaxing. I was surprised that changing the color of the light had such an impact on my level of anxiety. If I had it to do over again I would definitely go with the smaller version. I was also picturing the sand being open to air, but there is glass over it. So although they send a little rake to set it up, it wouldn’t be convenient to take the glass off and rake the sand. Of course it does allow for the perfect surface for the cat to watch the ball from. It is slightly louder then I would have assumed it would be, but not offensive. The constant low hum may even help with the focus when meditating. To clarify there is a light that shine over the same that gives the sand a hint of color, the sand itself doesn’t change color. It is strangely mesmerizing to watch the patterns form. You can alter the speed and designs that are drawn from your phone.

Every so often you come across something you thought you never needed. The HoMedics drift Meditation Sand Table is a product that seems like it would be one of those products that is more of a gimmick than anything but once you plug it in and set it up you can spend hours watching in awe. In the box you will find the table, a glass cover, the power cable. sand, and a plastic rake. Set up is as simple as pouring in the include bags of sand near the center of the table and then raking it with the included plastic rake until the sand is evenly spread and leveled across the table. Once the sand is leveled you place the metal sphere on the table and place the glass cover on top. Once the table is setup, you plug it in and connect it to your phone via the Homedics drift app. Once your phone is connected to the drift table it will check if an update to the firmware is required and you are ready to enjoy the endless patterns of sand art that can keep you occupied for hours at a time. The app allows you to change the color of the led lights and create a playlist of your favorite available patterns. You truly do not realize how watching the drift table create mesmerizing patterns can be so soothing to your mind until you sit in front of it for the first time. I am excited to explore the thousand of possible patterns and excited to see what homedics has in store for future products.

The Homedics drift Meditation Sand Table (21”) is such a good looking piece of furniture that can be placed almost anywhere in your home. It’s one of those things that you don’t want to hide, but have front and center, if possible. The large selection of patterns range from everyday feels to holidays and even something for that super dad in your life. Setup is very simple. The sand comes in two small bags that you'll have to pour into the table and level out with the provided rake. What you'll find is that the sand is very, very shallow once its level. The magnetic marble will need to make contact with the base in order to create its patterns. Lastly, the sand is topped off with the glass cover, completing the table. The drift runs on wall power with the provided power cable, and the length of cable is very, very ample. The bowl is primarily made of plastic. In order to use the drift, you'll need to download the Homedics drift app, either on Android or iOS. Here you'll be able to select designs to draw, what colors to illuminate the table and how fast you would like the marble to move. There are numerous designs to choose from, and you can construct a playlist of designs which essentially plays through each design one after the other until your playlist is complete. For instance, I'll load 10 designs and have the marble move at the slowest setting, and it will run all day long. Each design can run as long as an hour if you go at the lowest setting. Once you have loaded your playlist onto the drift, it is recorded in its memory. In the event that the drift completes it's run, you can simply press the play button on the side of it and it will replay the playlist. You won't need to use the app if you just want a replay. If the power is unplugged or then power goes out, your last playlist will still be saved to its memory. For colors, you can choose a single color or a selection of colors that you would like the illumination to cycle through during the playlist run. Moreover, you'll be able to set the color to breathe, essentially allowing the light to calmly go dim and back to bright. Finally, brightness levels can be set to your preference. During its marble run, you'll be able to hear the sound of the marble rubbing against the sand, which is a very relaxing and soothing sound. I actually love this very much, only second to the cool designs it can create throughout the day. The Homedics drift 21" is a hunky piece of furniture, but it's still relatively light to carry and move around. With its 21" diameter, it's important to plan ahead on where you would like to put this. I decided to purchase a nice pedestal to accent the room and place the drift on top of it. I positioned it next to a couch so my guests can place their drinks or items on it as if it were a normal table. You can also use it as a centerpiece to a table, but the biggest issue I found was how to hide the power cable. At this point, I'd rather have a design in place and then unplug it, then put it on the table. Finally, there's the price, and it's up there, in my opinion. But it's one of those cool, contemporary products that can bring a lot of peace, calmness and meditation in many settings like working from home. Playing devil's advocate, it does feel a bit on the cheap side with the bowl made of plastic, but it is sturdy and doesn't flex when being held or transported. All in all, I love it.

I have spent hours watching this sand table. I have seen many videos on TikTok and Facebook showing high end sand tables with metal balls carving into the sand making beautiful textures. HoMedics has brought this to us in a perfect and simple way. Important: during setup and before dumping sand on to your sand table; I recommend using the metal ball to find the magnet which is located below the surface and that you have a strong connection between the ball and magnet. During shipment the magnet under the surface can flip making the connection not as strong. Nothing is wrong with the unit you just have to move the metal ball around to make the magnet flip back or use a strong magnet from your fridge to make it flip back. Very simple to do and once this is done you will never have to do it again. If the ball has a strong connection to the magnet then you don’t have to worry about anything. Setup: Setup was easy. Take everything out of the packaging. Set your table in place where you will keep it. This is something you shouldn’t be moving all around. I placed mine in a small nook area with its own window and table. Place the metal ball on the sand table table first (as I just noted) to verify you have a strong connection with the magnet. Remove the magnet then dump the two bags of the included sand. Use the provided rake to level everything out. Place the ball in the middle, place the glass lid on top and then plug it in. App: the app is simple to navigate and easy to start the sand table. You can select from so many cool, interesting, and relaxing designs within the HoMedics app. You can make the sand table constantly move and rotate through different patterns or playlists. The table also lights up and the colors are vibrant and really make this table intriguing. The app allows you to select any color, hue, and brightness. I love changing its colors and having set to bright in the evening as table carves patterns. It’s fun and relaxing. You can even have the table rotate through the colors or select and save your own custom color. The connection to the sand table is with Bluetooth which I can power up or change pretty much anywhere in my house on the same level. The nice thing about this sand table is that the Bluetooth can be switched to any device without it forgetting what it’s doing or pausing. For example I can select a pattern and light color on the table and then an hour later my wife can jump on the app and then change to a new pattern and color or pause what the table is currently working on. The sand table is truly amazing. I didn’t think I could stare at a ball rolling out a pattern for so long but I have. Sometimes I’ll forget I set a new pattern and come back and look at it and be in aw. Some of the patterns are just amazing and I can’t believe it can make them. I can’t really describe it and that’s why I shared a few photos. HoMedics provides amazing customer support. I reached out to them and they were more then happy to help me in a timely manner.

In a world where you’re constantly looking at your phone, stressing out over everything that’s happening today, it’s wonderful to be able to take a ‘mental vacation’ whenever you need it and just get away from social media for an hour or so. The Homedics Drift Sand Table allows you to do just that. You just open up the Drift app on your Android or Iphone, select one of the hundreds of patterns you’ll find there, download it to the table through Bluetooth and watch it work. The magic marble starts moving through the sand and creates the intricate pattern you selected, like a true artist You get lost and smile, almost mesmerized, following the marble’s path as it creates the picture. You also control the light ring, selecting one of the infinite colors available, or have your choice of colors change slowly as your design is created, maybe have the colors ‘breathe’ as you watch. It’s entirely up to you. There is also a ‘scheduling’ feature in the app, so you can set up your Drift to come on at a certain time and create patterns for different times for different days of the week. This might be helpful in a waiting room for example. There are many ways to customize the device. Here are a few hints if you purchase the Drift and are unboxing it. There are many different envelopes containing the sand and power adaptors. There’s the well packed large heavy round glass top, and be very careful to locate and save the silver marble in all the packing. It would be easy to miss it and the Drift would be worthless without it. After I had everything unboxed, I could not find the instructions. I spent several minutes looking for it unsuccessfully. After installing the Drift app on my phone, I saw that complete directions were in the app. Ironically when I started throwing out the packaging, I discovered there WAS a page of instructions on a piece of heavy paper glued to a piece of cardboard. It turned out I didn’t need it anyway. Also, it would be helpful for Homedics to include a little more instruction as to how the app works. After experimenting I finally figured out all the features, but a little help from them would have been appreciated. The only other negative I have on the device is that to get the full enjoyment you need to be looking down into it. The design makes it difficult to be looking at the sand drawings from the side. That being said, this is a totally original device, there’s nothing that comes close to it. It works as if by magic and I think really will take your mind off social media, at least for a little while. It did for me.

If there ever was an item that I didn’t know I needed till I got, it was this. I received my HoMedics Drift Meditation Table a week or two ago and it has been on every day since. I absolutely love this thing. My girlfriends loves this thing. My friends love this thing. My cat loves this thing. She sits on it sometimes and just watches the little ball. I’ll start with a few negatives just to get that out of the way. Set up instructions of both the table and the app could be a little clearer. Like don’t give me 2 bags of sand and say to ad 1. This model takes 2. It took me a little playing around with the app to figure that out just right. But this was just a few days of off and on playing around and still enjoying what it was doing. Now that I know how to get the results I want, I absolutely adore this thing. I have all my favorite patterns set up in a playlist and it just goes. I turn it on in the morning and it starts right up where it left off. The light ring is beautiful and you have total control. You can pick a color or have it cycle thru. You can have the colors charge sharply or slowly. You can also adjust the speed of the ball moving around. It’s really remarkable how sharp the patterns are. And there are so many cool patterns to choose from! The Drift Table is something more though than a pretty bowl of sand and light. Obviously it’s a real conversation piece. Everyone who has visited since I set it up has been drawn to it and full of questions. One friend is even considering buying one. It’s also kind of mesmerizing. I find myself stopping and just staring at it from time to time. I run my own business and that can get quite stressful at times and I’m learning how to best use it as a relaxation device. I just stop and kind of zone out and let the slowly changing light and emerging art soak up all my attention and bring me to a mellow place of a Zen like peace of mind. So other than a few minor annoyances when I was first setting this up, I love it. This review is a strong 5 stars from me. If I knew someone with a budget in this range looking for a cool item or a gift for someone, I would absolutely recommend this item to a friend. Well done Homedics!

The Drift Meditation Sand Table came well packed and was easy to set up. I looked for instructions but found none until I downloaded the free app. The app had simple step by step directions. After unpacking all I had to do was dump the 2 bags of sand in the unit, smooth it out with the included rake, place the ball bearing on the sand and place the glass top over it all. After assembly, pair it with Bluetooth and it's ready to go. There are many patterns in the app to choose from. Some patterns seem to be already in the sand table while others can be quickly downloaded from the app to the table. Once a design has been chosen all you have to do is hit the play button and the table is doing its thing. There is an adjustment in the app for the speed at which the pattern is drawn and the brightness of the led lighting around the perimeter. In the lighting menu colors can be chosen, color shifting/changing can be toggled on and off, color temperature can be adjusted, and a breathing pattern can be chosen over steady lighting. The app displays the percent of the design that has been completed. The app also has some premade playlists as well as the ability to create your own playlists. There is a setting that will stop the drawing between completed designs of just let it begin the next design on the playlist. We aren't into any sort of formal meditation but find this table absolutely captivating and relaxing to watch. I tried installing it in a couple of different locations finally leaving it in the center of a game table in my den. Everyone that has come in and seen it has been fascinated, whether it is drawing or not. Some sit and stare, others check back periodically to see the design develop. When I really want to stare at it and relax, I have found that putting it on the floor in front of my favorite chair allows me to see the entire table. The meditation sand table is unique and a great way to relax. Once I start watching it's hard to stop. It's amazing how some of the designs develop before your eyes. This is my new "Me Time".

HoMedics – drift Meditation Sand Bowl 21” Cream is an amazing piece of meditation art. The Meditation Bowl App • The app is really nice, but took me a little bit to find it. The QR code didn’t locate anything except the site for HoMedics itself • Lots of configurations and “playlists to choose from” for the various designs • Once the app was installed, you we presented with various options and configurations Meditation Bowl • Design o The bowl is a fine piece of art itself. Durable and of high quality build o The steel ball is weighted and creates amazing designs o Every design we have chosen is amazing o The lights on the edge of the bowl can be altered and changed as desired o Sand keeps nice and tidy in the bowl. o This is a 21” cream colored bowl, so fairly large weighs about 40lbs o The device does light up so make sure you have a plug in/outlet close by and secure the cord to keep people from falling or tripping Overall impressions o Very pleased with the design, operation and possibilities with the designs from an artistic perspective. o The meditation abilities by just watching the movement of the sand as the design comes from nothing to amazing is so serene and peaceful Definitely very impressed and relaxed by this device. Looking forward to many years of conversations around this bowl as well as relaxing around it.

Overall, this is a nice product and conversation piece with a couple of caveats that I'll go over towards the end of this review. The build quality seems pretty nice - the base is plastic and the top is glass. The 21" version is huge so keep that in mind when buying - know ahead of time where you are planning to place it lest you find out too late that it won't fit in your desired spot. It's true that watching it do its thing is truly mesmerizing and, in a way, feels magical. So, that's the good stuff about it. Now, unfortunately here is the bad. Controlling it via the app is buggy. It's hard to fathom that at this price point, there's not wifi built-in. It only works via bluetooth with your phone, so when you need to do anything with it not only does it all have to be done via the buggy app, but your phone has to be in close proximity due to the bluetooth only connection. Really? For $500 this thing only has bluetooth? And, on top of that, the bluetooth doesn't work very well. It doesn't remember your bluetooth connection like every other bluetooth device you have paired to your phone (headphones, car stereo system, etc.). It has to be reconnected each time, not from the phone's bluetooth menu, but from the app. You are served a list of all these devices and you have to figure out which one the Drift is. Turns out my Drift is named 'KSXXXXXXXXXXX.' And, the only way I could figure that out was by guessing that KS stands for 'Kinetic Sand.' How is a non-techy person supposed to set this thing up and then actually use it? Okay, now that I've told you about the app and the connection woes, here's my next gripe. The Drift doesn't come with all the numerous patterns built into it. Yes, you heard me right. The Drift out of the box has to be paired with your phone and then the 10s and 10s of patterns have to be downloaded to the Drift via that slow and buggy bluetooth connection I just told you about. So, get ready to not only try and figure out the bluetooth connection but then waste a bunch of time hurrying up and waiting for patterns to download. What an unsatisfying initial experience. Why on earth did this not have the patterns preloaded into the Drift escapes me. Imagine your kids opening up a brand new gaming console on Christmas morning only to find out they have to spend hours to download software updates before being able to play their first game. That's how it feels getting the Drift up and running.

Love laying down next to mine with thunderstorm sounds playing on my alexa device. Best way to relax in the room after a long day at work.
