Awesome is what comes to mind. It's not only visually pleasing but it puts out a substantial amount of Is humidity into the room and it has 33 fan speeds which is great.

The Homedics Ultrasonic Humidifier is incredible. Everything from the design to the functionality is superb. Once I took it out of the box I was blown away by the design, it looks beautiful. The top lid, which has a 360 degree adjustable nozzle - is made of a bamboo finish. It is attached to a long and clear removable cover with a chrome accent ring at the bottom. On the front of the unit there is a small-round display for the current mist settings. Right below that are 6 – touch sensitive buttons: power, mist output, night light etc. The bottom of the base is held up by 3 feet, which are also made out of a bamboo finish. Operating the humidifier is incredibly easy…All you have to do is fill the tank with water, turn it on and select the desired function. The humidifier gives you many levels to choose from, for instance with the Humidistat button, you are able to set the desired percent of humidity, or you can set it to cold. There are also 3 different levels of the mist stream, with 3 being the most powerful and I must say, it is powerful! You also have an option to set an auto off timer if you don’t want to worry about having to remember to turn it off. There is a very small LED light located at the bottom of the unit, but it’s nothing to brag about as its doesn’t give off much light. A nice added bonus to the unit, it has an oil tray at the bottom so you can add essential oils. I decided to use my humidifier in the master bedroom, as it always becomes very stuffy and dry in there. The unit is extremely quiet, which is a great thing because I’m a light sleeper so not having a noisy unit was a huge help. I set it to level 3 and on cool mist, I was amazed at how quickly my room filled with moisture, not to mention I was able to sleep so much better. Overall, I am extremely impressed with the Ultrasonic Humidifier. Everything about the unit is a win, from the elegant design to the massive water tank, it works great! The added benefit of being able to use essence oils is a huge bonus. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to get a humidifier.

I like this item when it works it works. It has to be cleaned and reset daily. I can understand if it was weekly. But daily. My life doesn’t afford me that amount of time. Buyer beware. It’s good if you have everyday to dedicate to cleaning and resetting the item.

I've had mine for about a year now. Came here to buy a second one actually for another room. Not sure what the person mentioning daily cleaning means. There is a reset button, but mine doesn't come on daily, and I run it every day in the winter. Looks great and works great for me and my cat.

Large humidifier that has a small footprint

Just got the HoMedics TotalComfort Deluxe Ultrasonic Humidifier and I’m ready to see how it performs. Opening the box, you get the humidifier unit, user’s manual, one demineralization cartridge, and two essential oil pads. The unit comes assembled, so just take it out of the box and set it wherever you are going to use it. Make sure there’s a 110v outlet close by. This thing holds a large amount of water, but it has a nice small footprint. I set this up in my den, behind your lazy boy recliner. I didn’t use any essential oil, but if you do, you’re instructed to use the included pad and insert it in the compartment located on the base of the unit. Do not add oils to the water itself. I wanted to get it up and running to see how much mist this pushes out, so I just grabbed a decent size saucepan and filled it up. It took 4 trips to fill the unit, so next time I’m going to have a plastic pitcher available, lol. The humidifier is simple and easy to use. I plugged it in, and the digital display said CO, the default for continuous on. You can also switch it to a percentage humidity level from 35% to 55%. Then I set the mist to full (3), you have the choice of 1, 2, 3. I spun the clear lid so that the mist nozzle was pointing in the direction I wanted it to go, it spins completely 360 degrees, so once it’s full of water, you can aim it in any direction. I have the night light turned off, God knows I already have so many gadgets running, and my house is never completely dark anymore. That said, it does have a nightlight with 4 settings. You can have the display on, and the nightlight on, both on, and both off. There’s also a built-in timer with 4 settings, 0 or no timer, 4 hours, 8 hours, and 12 hours. Lastly, there is an auto-off that will turn off the unit when it’s close to running out of water and a clean reminder after about 50 hours of use. After getting the 4 pots of water in the unit, I fired it up. All the stuff I wrote about in the last paragraph I read while it was working. Let me say, this puts out a nice stream of mist. It’s visible about 2-3 feet above the unit and fans out an inch or so wide. It puts my other humidifiers to shame. Also, the run time of 70 hours or so per fill is great. I live in the So. Cal. Desert, so the weather varies quite a bit. It’s almost always dry, but that dry heat business isn’t so. The desert goes to extremes, from very cold to 118. You can run the A/C or swamp cooler (church fans or a water cooler to some of you) during the day and the heater or fireplace at night. We have windy days with 10-30 mph winds on many days. Here in the desert, my buddy says the wind doesn’t blow, it sucks! With all of that, it’s always dry and the house collects dust, and one needs to dampen the air. The swamp cooler does a great job at that, but I don’t run it all day. Once the sun settles, it cools off and the need for a humidifier kicks in a few hours later. Running one or two all night helps me get a good night’s sleep. So, what do I think of this unit? I like HoMedics products, and I own quite a few different items from their line. I can say the quality isn’t top-end, but I’m not paying for that. Their products perform well and do what they claim to, they seem to last for many years and are satisfying to use on a daily basis. I would have no problem recommending this humidifier to anyone in need of a continuous unit or one that doesn’t take filling every day. Keep it filled every other day or so, depending on usage, and use as directed and I believe it will give you many years of good service.

We live in an area that typically has very low humidity, so we decided to get a humidifier. We have friends who have had various brands/models and said they helped a lot. This particular model is the large version, it also comes in a smaller version, in case you want to use it in a smaller room. The HoMedics Ultrasonic Humidifier (large) looks nice and doesn't take up a lot of space (small footprint). You probably wouldn't want to put it in a high-traffic area, since it's tall and thin, might get knocked over by kids and/or pets. I like that to add water it's a top-filling tank. Other humidifiers I've seen can be very complicated to fill. With this one just remove the tank cover, exposing the tank. Fill it with water (up to 1.4 gallons) and depending on your usage and settings, it can last up to 70 hours. It does have an auto-shutoff if the tank is empty. You can also set the timer to shut it off after 4, 8 or 12 hours. You can set the humidifier to run continuously or set the humidity level in 5% increments from 35 to 55 percent. If you set a humidity level, the humidifier will shut off when the humidity in the room reaches that level. It will turn back on when the humidity drops 5% below the set level. There is a tray in the bottom of the humidifier to add essential oils, if you choose to. They caution not to add any oils or other additives into the water tank, only the oil tray. Pads are included to put the oils on, which are then put in the tray. If you have hard water, the humidifier can leave whitish dust on surfaces around the humidifier, which is the remains of the minerals in the water. They include a demineralization capsule, which lasts for 30-40 fills of the tank. You can purchase more capsules from HoMedics or use distilled water instead of tap water. The humidifier is very quiet and puts out a fine mist when in operation. Because the mist spout is on top of the tank cover, you can choose which direction you want the mist to go by rotating the tank cover. The unit seems to work quite well, though we were in a rainy period when we got it. I'm sure once our humidity drops back to its normal low, the humidifier will be greatly appreciated.
