Bought this after my GE lasted nearly 10 years. This froze up the first day. I like to keep my finished basement about 45%…… this struggles on humid days and I have a fairly dry basement that without one of these won’t go above 65% humidity. It’s a bit noisier than the description/other reviews made it sound. I guess I thought dehumidifiers would have come a lot further over the last 10 years.

When researching, I read previous reviews and I agree with them. This is not a quite dehumidifier, but it is a good one. Great capacity and well made. Sturdy water collection bucket with strong handle.

After reading Consumer Reports review, purchased Honeywell for my basement. Easy purchase, easy pickup, easy setup. So far, unit works as advertised. Low fan noise, no problems.

The dehumidifier was noisy. Also, the device kept saying the tray was misaligned and it wasn't. I kept opening and closing a dozen times before it would go off. When it was time to empty the device again, the same message would appear re: misalignment. It was so annoying that I finally gave up and returned it.

Followed all instructions and ran for two days. No moisture collected and the coils frosted up and froze. Solid block of ice. Unit was within temperature specs and should have worked. Unit possibly defective out of box. ALSO- Deceptive advertising. This is a 50 Pint dehumidifier based on the most recent ratings under law. Before 2019 this would be a 70 Pint...but it is not today. This needs updated since it is only a 50 Pint. Would never have purchased it if I had known this before ordering.

This is my 3rd dehumidifier from Emerson. The previous 2 were the wi-fi compatible model. This one is standard. First 2 wouldn't reduce humidity below 45, setting went down to 30. My basement has no standing water, home is 14 yrs old. Since BB did not have another 70-pint unit from another company, I opted for the standard 70-pint unit. It has been running for the past 4 days and only got down to 40% RH and the fan has never shut off. This is an Energy Star unit, doesn't seem to be saving much energy. Set at 30%RH I would have expected it to get down into the 30% range. I am not happy with this unit at all.

Price is good overall i think it gets the job done

I ordered this for my basement apartment, as it is damp. So I already had a de*humidifier but it was too small to do the job properly. I set it up as per the instructions and turned it on. I let it run for a few days. But it was not working as it supposed to, not collected water in the drainage basin. So I returned it as defective. It was from a dealer that had a great reputation, but it was defective.

This unit is so quiet. I cannot imagine how I put up with my old one so long.

I received this dehumidifier on 9/13. On 10/5, I noticed that it was leaking on my carpet in my finished basement. I called the warranty number and was told to return it to Best Buy for a new one since it was less than 30 days since I received it. Unfortunately, Best Buy has a 15 day return policy even on defective products. I would caution you not to purchase this item, particularly at Best Buy
