I do not need to turn on the home AC. It was easy to set up. The only thing I do not like is when it turns off once temperature reaches to the setting I want the sound is loud. Other than that I love hiw cold it is.

When the unit reaches the desired level of temperature in the room, the compressor will tuern off, but the fan will continue to run. The compressor will start again when the temperature in the area/room starts to rise higher.

Be sure and check which circuit you out this on. That was the only issue we had is we didn't realize the plugs available are attached to half the house. This beast puts out about 10.5a and our circuit is a 20a so it'll trip the breaker if too much is going on. The hoses are also VERY rigid so don't expect a whole lot of maneuverability with it unless you buy flexible hose. And the plate doesn't extend very far so we had to MacGyver it. It does the job tho! Kinda pricey but not a whole lot of complaints regarding what we got it for.

Its a loft with two bedrooms; one is being used as my office. This Texas summer has been brutal. But let me tell you this ac is worth it! While the rooms do not get as cold as the loft it does make it comfortable to work in. The loft gets the coldest and sometimes feels better upstairs than it does downstairs. We will store away during winter but this is a must for summer now!

Gets the house to 74 or under through the whole day. Couldnt be happier. But i cant speak for longevity yet

The drain tube is not included with the unit, but you can easily procure from a local hardware store. Our units work on self evaporation and do not need to be drained unless operating in a very humid conditon (air conditioning mode).
