Gets very cold and doesn’t need water like the other ones

living in San jose, CA this actually help lower the temperature to an bearable degree

Bought in BestBuy. If you want just a fan, this thing is perfect. But if you want to use it as an air cooler you won't get what you expect. After we put water and ice in it the smell was horrible in the room . Like a wet dog in the room. We let it run for couple hours but the smell was the same. I wanted to return but it was too late, the BestBuy didn't accept it after 15 days. I called Honeywell company and asked to replace this item. The answer of a client service department was: " Just add vinegar and the smell will disappear ( what means they knew that there is a problem with this model)". Also they sent us a new filter, which didn't help. To make a long story short, this air cooler is not good. Don't waste your money.

Have had this unit running almost every day for about 2 months and absolutely love it! As others have said, it's well-worth the few minutes it takes to read the instructions to make sure it's used properly - otherwise, you can end up with a hot, very muggy environment. I love the "swing" feature, which keeps one from feeling like you're trapped in a wind-tunnel, also the compartment in which ice can be added to make the breeze even cooler. Has a large water reservoir which usually only needs to be filled once in the morning and again in late afternoon or early evening. I move it to different rooms of varying sizes, but primarily have it in a room that's approximately 10' x 19' and has southern and western exposures and, even on the hottest days, this unit keeps the air cool and very comfortable. I highly recommend this product!
