The room does not look or the air feel any different. The actual top of machine is accumulating dust as the rest of the room.

Makes a significant difference
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this to use in a bedroom where I was keeping a pup while introducing him to the rest of the pack. Opening the door to the room was like being smacked in the face. Ran for about 8 hours, and had a visitor open the door (making sure I hadn't gone "nose blind"). Some odor, but not overbearing. There are 3 speeds to this to address dust and pet dander. The higher the setting, the louder the machine. It is not a deafening sound and can be compared to the noise level of a floor fan set at a medium speed. There is atimer that can be set for 2, 4, or 8 hours. Personally, I like the "white noise" effect when I run it at night. I have asthma and have noticed less coughing at night and less congestion in the morning. Extended life of A/C filters is a plus.
