I'm a lifelong allergy sufferer. I tend to roll with the punches and each season brings about their own ailments, but I've transitioned into Winter being the worst. I usually load up on the usual suspects (musinex, corticosteroids, saline rinses, allergy pills), but I will still develop a classic runny nose, bad sinuses and the dreaded post nasal drip and tickle in my throat. Being outside does help but only so much. This Winter has kicked it up a notch and I'm not alone as my fiance is also feeling it for the first time which makes our household a coughing, sneezing mess. We did all the ground work including steam cleaning head to toe, blower and ductwork cleaning and certification and making sure to use high grade filters, but those particulates still seem to get the best of us in the Winter and my throat is in a constant case of tickle/cough. After reading numerous reviews, this unit seemed to provide the best price:performance ratio so I picked one up to give it a try. The instructions and usage are straight forward. 3 HEPA filters and a large odor/particulate filter that sits on top of them with a massive intake fan that throws out a massive amount of air depending on setting. The unit has three settings (low, med, high) along with a "turbo" setting when you want to circulate a room as quick as possible. I work from home, so I decided to set the unit up in my computer/office area, shut the door and set it to turbo. Turbo is very loud, but that is to be expected. I had it running for 20-30 minutes before I sat down to work. I had grown so accustomed to hacking and sneezing in my office while working that it took me almost an hour to realize I hadn't hacked or sneezed not once. Another hour passed and, nope, no hacking or sneezing. As a test, I took some of my work and laptop to my living room and worked from there and within 10-20 minutes my old nemesis returned and I was once again hacking and sneezing. I opted to move the unit to the living room and let it run all day and when my fiance got home her much less than mine hacking and sneezing was basically non-existent. We both agreed the air smelled much cleaner and fresher, which was a plus, but mainly the greatly reduced (me) and effectively neutralized (her) hacking and sneezing was the big winner here. Another plus is it is fairly light weight and has two handle grooves on each side for easy transport to move it room to room; but I am so impressed with this thing, I will be buying another just for my office that I can leave on low/med and one for the main living room. On low, this thing is near in-audible. Medium you can hear it but it isn't bad. High is definitely present and accounted for and Turbo is clearly short for Turbo Jet. Be warned it is not small nor compact so it will be noticeable. The power cord has decent length allowing it to be placed as desired in most cases. With all the above being said, will this be a miracle cure for everyone? No, of course not. Worst case scenario, you help clean and purify your air even if you continue to suffer in the same or other aspects. Best case, it is able address much (if not all) of your allergy, dust, mold, spore, particulate problems and help you breathe better and reduce symptoms (which it has done for myself and my fiance). Two Thumbs up.

I bought this unit after reading so many reviews only to find out that it does nothing to rid the air of simple dust and odors. It is rated at 450+ sq ft and supposedly turns the air over in that space once every 12 minutes. I use it in a space that is about 390 sq ft and, even if I place it on the my large desk, the dust keeps piling up and I keep sneezing. I am also very disappointed with Best Buy because they claim that no refunds can be issued after 15 days unless you belong to their elite program. Funny thing is that most places honor most appliances and devices like this for 30 days with no questions asked. I tried to return it last week (within 3 weeks of purchase) and was told there were no refunds. I guess we senior citizens are used to the good old days when a store was happy to have your business and willing to go the extra mile for the customer. A waste of $300 for the product is also a guarantee that I will not recommend Honeywell's product to anyone and will never shop Best Buy for anything again.

I was originally planning on getting a Dyson or even better a Molekule (which is $799). After way too much research I've learned that while those are both nice and effective products (especially the Molekule), the Honeywell True HEPA does the same job (or at least 99.9% of the job) as the Molekule. I did so much research as my primary reason for buying is was because my daughter and then I were both coughing and having allerges we'd never had before, and I thought it could be mold or something else in the air. And it worked on every front.Even if you can afford either, the Honeywell is recommended for a reason, and it has proven to be worth it. It's still more expensive than most of the competition, but you get top of the line results without spending almost a grand in cash. Our whole home smells noticeably better all the time. We have two cats, and if the cat's area smells from the litter box or anything else, I move it there and the place smells grand in 10 minutes. Totally worth it.

Very good air purifier. I noticed difference in air quality right away after leaving it running for first 4 hours. The air smelled cleaner and was fresher. As a allergy sufferer, I can attest to the difference I feel when I breathe: no more watery eyes or stuffed up nose or nasal drip. And, running in Quiet mode, it is silent and allows me to sleep with it on all night. While there may be better air purifiers, they usually cost twice as much money. Even though the filters need to be changed every 3 months at approximately $60 for 3 filters, the cleaner air is priceless. I hope to do a update review in future once I see how durable this machine is, since I run it 24 hours a day. Would have given it a 5 star if not for the yearly cost of filter changes.

I've wanted to try an air purifier for a while now but where I lived I had large open areas (two story house, open concept kitchen/living area, vaulted master bedrooms). I recently downsized to smaller house with normal height ceilings and decided to pull the trigger on a good sized air purifier. I'm honestly amazed at how well this has worked out for me. I have asthma and allergies but have 2 dogs (go figure right) and since I set up the air purifier in my house my nose has been so clear! General stuffiness and congestion are pretty much gone! It's been years and years since I've have such a consistently clear nose and it really has converted me into a believer. If you have a modestly sized place I really think these things can make a huge difference!

One morning the sun shown through my living room and I saw a ton of dust in the air. After reading many details and reviews I decided to buy this one. I'm very happy! There are three speeds, the lowest makes no noise at all, the middle speed has some noise but not bad, the high speed is overkill and to noisy. After two months now the pre-filter is disgusting and I need a new one (it must have taken out a ton out of the air. I run it during the day and shut it off at night. The one negative I have is that the controls are on the top and are sensitive to the touch, this is a problem sometimes if you have cats that like to get up on it. They tend to cause it to go to different speeds, etc. Other than that this thing is great!

Was looking for a unit with a washable filter to cut the cost of purchasing the filters (which are pricey and will add up over time). My doctor informed me that air purifiers with a true HEPA filter work best for seasonal allergies. So I purchased this Honeywell unit. Easy to set up (make sure you remove the filters from the plastic bags). I ran the unit on turbo for a few hours initially to clean the air, then adjusted the settings. Turbo is very loud. the two lower settings can be used when sleeping. I did notice a difference with the air quality. The itchy, watery eyes decreased tremendously. It is large enough to move unit from my bedroom to the living room area. I'm happy with the unit.

We've had the Honeywell Air Purifier in our home for the past month using it (1) to reduce dust and allergens from our bedroom and (2) to provide "white noise" at night. The unit has a range of fan speeds -- the lowest two speeds are sufficiently quiet for overnight bedroom use. The lighted display is a bit bright for nighttime bedroom use but the unit has a dimmer/light off switch. The unit does not "remember" previous light-level settings so for overnight bedroom use, the light must to dimmed or turned off each time the unit is turned on. The pre-filter is easy to gently clean with a vacuum to extend the pre-filter's useful life.

Initially, the purifier had a horrible plastic/chemical smell and I thought we would have to return it. We ran it on turbo mode for well over a week and eventually that smell dissipated. We like the different modes that you can set the purifier in, and the dimmer light feature as we have this in the bedroom. Its quite loud in turbo mode, but you barely notice it in regular mode. I haven't had it long enough to make any other assertions about how it works. We were quite surprised that it takes multiple filters: 3 white ones, 1 black one. The box comes with what you need when you first order it.

We did notice an improvement with this unit. Of course we have 2 cats and a CAG parrot and just the parrot alone sheds tons of dander. Giving these environmental conditions I still think it's great that we have noticed an improvement in our allergies even though the improvement isn't extreme. The fact that it's still improved is good, considering mine are all but gone and my fiances is better. His were just horrible previously and he didn't notice a difference at first but he isn't blowing his nose near as often as he used to! So IMO extreme improvement would mean his gone as well but it is still a great unit in that his have improved considering the pets that we have. I am glad I purchased it :)

We recently got new birds and found that these two make much more dander than the previous one that we had (two different varieties). The new element to the air at the house set off coughing spells so this purchase was made. I do not hear as much coughing from my daughter which is the good thing so it appears to be doing the job that was needed. We will keep on using it. We have had this less than a month so I have not had to change the filters yet, but replacement is recommended fairly often. I was unable to buy any replacements at the time of purchase. None were in stock. The four rating comes from the amount of noise generated by the product. It can be fairly loud.

I have 2 dogs and never really had much of a dog smell. But i always have thought my home felt dusty. I clean constantly but still just didnt feel like the air was clean, especially now that its winter and windows remain shut. We bought this a week ago and holy cow has it made an improvment. After seeing what this can do, i dont know how weve been living so long without this. I didnt realize just how dusty our air was. I walk in and take the deepest beaths possible. Simply amazing! I want one for my bedroom and upstairs now! This one is big enough to notice a difference in the kitchen and living room.

Although i have seasonal allergies I did not buy this for this purpose I bought it because I am a clean freak! Started to buy two one for upstairs one for down. Then decided I had 15 days to return I would try one first and decide if it was worthy of keeping and was it worthy of a second. It proved to be worthy! I have since bought a second for upstairs. I would say this what prompted me to get one to begin with was my Roomba's it AMAZES me how much they pick up daily even in unused rooms.you would not believe how much airborne crap they pick up daily ! Wondered how much more dust I could extract from air its shocking !!

I have a 3 yr old who has been habitually sick. Her pediatrician has always told me that it's normal due to daycare and pre-school and is nothing to be concerned with. But it has always bothered me that no matter the time of year she is always dealing with a cough and running nose. Ever since I got this air purifier and set it up in our main room and another in her play room, replacing the old ones that we had, her habitual running nose and cough have completely disappeared! So I'm a big fan of their effectiveness.

Bought one and it seems to be doing a great job so far. They are good looking and not too loud. Highest setting is kinda loud but not intolerable and the others are fine. Lowest setting is a whisper. I saw a second one on BB and it was on sale so I bought the second one and put it upstairs. I haven't had either long enough to judge the full effectiveness of them but after one week I vacuumed the filer on the first one and there was a lot there so they must be working. It smells like it, you can tell difference.

I got this to reduce dust and odors in my apartment, and it seems to do that very well. Air feels fresher and cleaner with this running. First two speeds are not very loud, but the top two speeds are much louder and can be annoying. My carbon pre-filter has already collected a lot of dust, and probably will need to be changed much sooner than the recommended 3 months. It's not really the fault of the filter; it's doing its job, but more a testament to the dust in my apartment (partly thanks to a german shepherd).

We bought 2 of these units on sale. The entire family suffers from allergies plus we also have 2 dogs and an African gray parrot. After my wife did some research we went with these units and within an hour of operation we all noticed a big difference in clean air. One is placed in our master bedroom and one in the living room. In total we have 5 purifiers in our home (2400 square ft two story). We just replaced the filters for the first time which was simple, we do like the light feature stating to check the filters. Also the noise of the purifiers help us sleep.

I got this for a medium size room even though it is for larger rooms. I wanted to ensure the air was filtered multiple times a day. I bought the non-Honeywell replacement filters because I got more for the same price. As long as they say "True HEPA" then that's all that matters. The carbon pre-filter does an excellent job getting rid of any smells. Overall it is quiet unless you put it on Turbo mode. But even on Turbo, it isn't too bad. It's moving a LOT of air at that point.

In our apartment we have issues with cigarette smell coming from another apartment. So we decided to buy this air purifier. Although it did not removed the smell completely, it did a good job cleaning the air. It feels better overall. It comes with different speeds, including a super slow one, which is perfect to leave it on all night. Just keep in mind that it is necessary to replace the filters often if you have a problem like we do. During the first couple of days we noticed a plastic smell, nothing major, and it went away.

The Honeywell air purifier works great. I use this in the bedroom for my daughter who suffers from asthma and allergies. Since using this she sleeps much better at night. The air definitely is cleaner. This purifier is very quiet unless you turn it on turbo which actually isn’t that bad. I would highly recommend this for allergy/asthma sufferers or for anyone.
