Posted .Hi Janmose! Your FloorMate Deluxe should not lose suction during use. We want to help. Please remove the dirty water tank and rinse out the filter. Make sure each side of the lid is on evenly and latched, then place back into the machine. To ensure a proper clean for your floors please remove the brushblock along with the nozzle after each use and rinse out in the sink to remove any debris. We recommend using only the Hoover Cleaning Solution as other brands or household cleaners can damage the tanks and unit. Our first one lasted well over three years of heavy duty floor cleaning. When our first one went out, immediately we dashed to the local Best Buy store to buy a replacement. I recommend this unit for hard floors that require regular cleaning (and scrubbing).
