Love the spin brush and separate water container. But wish it could also steam. People are always looking for duality, less items to buy.

This spin scrub cleaner is high on spinning and low on scrubbing. Unless you're using this on perfectly flat surfaces, it doesn't clean well. It is much too light weight, there is no pressure on the scrubbing brushes. The brushes could not clean a lightly textured vinyl floor. A coffee stain left to dry overnight was not removed. If I have to use a mop, then this machine is an expensive wet vacuum to clean up after mopping.

It just didn't do the job I expected. Disappointed

purchased this to clean Vinyl tile flooring. It is light, easy to operate and well made. It does it's job without pouring a huge amount of water on the floor. The vacuum does a decent job drying it as well, but it will not be completely dry after passing over with this machine. Great for home use, but a little small and lacking for more than a few hundred square feet.

Have the mop for only one year and it just stopped working. Doesn’t power on at all

If you have tile floors and children and/or pets this is a must have floor cleaner. I have struggled cleaning my floors and have purchased every mop available only to be disappointed. The FloorMate makes cleaning simple and gets your floor cleaner than ever. I cannot stand sloshing dirty mop water back on my floor and with this you don't have to.

I wish I had bought this well over a year ago. It would have saved me many tears and frustrations! We brought 2 large dogs into our home and the house has never been "clean" ever since. As soon as I would mop they would just track through the wet areas and make things worse. This product is working wonderfully. We have a mix of tile and hardwood floors and it cleans them both quickly and doesn't damage the old wood. Floors are dry before I even finish a room and while the dogs still track in the house, they aren't doing it through any wet spots. Seeing the nasty waste water really sold me that the machine is actually pulling the dirt off the floors. I don't recommend putting the waste water down the sink if you have pets. The machine pulled up quite a bit of dog hair which collected in the disposal. I have traditionally emptied mop water in the toilet and do the same here and then rinse the container in the sink.

My old Hoover floor cleaner gave up the ghost so I recently purchased the Deluxe from Best Buy. My initial reaction when I unpacked it was one of worry; it was so much lighter and smaller than the old one I thought, "it will never manage 1200 sq. ft. of uneven, unfinished porcelain tile floors. But it did a great overall job. I live in a very rural setting and Mother Nature makes certain my floors get filthy. I like the lightweight and easy maneuverability of the unit and only had to refill fresh and change dirty water 4 times. I found that using plain vinegar with a drop of natural soap, however, gave much better results than using the solution that was provided with the unit. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it is missing some features that were really handy on the older model. There is no rinse cycle which was great for going over problem areas without using more solution. Nor was there a hose attachment which I used to clean my tile kitchen counters and furniture. And, for the record, it does not clean the grout. In fact, it pushes the muddy water into it. The vacuum feature, however, takes care of that problem pretty well. I am also questioning how durable this much smaller unit will be, but it's too soon to tell that. All-in-all I'm very pleased with the unit. If you're not obsessed with creating a sterile environment (and up here in the mountains that's an impossible dream) you'll love the Hoover Floor Mate Deluxe. I also want to send out kudos to Best Buy: free shipping and it arrived in only 2 days. Thanks Best Buy.

I am a self proclaimed floor expert. I have used steam cleaners to scrub brushes. Please do not expect a miracle with this Hoover. Good quality, but filling the tank takes a little work. Plan your movement as the cord is short. I have five year old tile/grout and even though I had a tank of very dirty water, the grout did not get very clean. I used water I boiled as this helps to clean and dry better. I did find that I needed to move in the direction of the grout line, not sure what the dry function really did, except shutting off the brush. I let the cleaning solution sit prior to drying and it cleaned well. The unit was easy to clean. I would have given a full rating if not for the cord. I will experiment on a good non foaming cleaner, maybe I will use a soft scrub product on the grout lines and see if that cleans over time. Nice job Hoover.

Purchased this to clean/scrub my rubber gym floor. Does a good job of getting everything off of the floor (spots, etc). It does take a few passes over the same area to scrub- would probably be easier on hardwood. It just takes time and you can only do a small area at a time without having to refill.

I have used my cleaner about 20 times so far (only on vinyl flooring) and it works great! Remember to not push too quickly and I make two passes on each section of flooring. I was tired of scrubbing on my hands and knees and using a bucket for soap and rinsing off in the sink so as not to spread dirty water around. This solves that for me and I can stand up to do it! Every once in awhile, I'll want to use a rag or sponge to get the corners clean that the sweeper can't reach but that's easy!

It does a great job cleaning tiles. We bought a house with filthy tile floors - it doesn't do a great job deep cleaning old dirt, but once you clean the floors with something else, it keeps them clean.

We are almost complete with an extensive renovation that has created significant drywall dust. Our entire house is hardwoods and the drywall dust essentially coated our floors and became a paste that we couldn't remove with typical cleaning measures. We were at the point where we had no choice but to hire a professional cleaner to "deep clean" our hardwoods. Even with my low expectations due to the severity of our situation, I decided to give this unit a chance because it would save hundreds compared to hiring pros if it worked. Wow, this unit is amazing. It completely stripped our floors back to pre-construction, probably even better. Some people claim a slight negative is how slow you have to clean, but I don't find it slow realizing the end result. It seems to clean incredibly well without excessive water, actually surprising how little it uses. An then it sucks up what water was put down and leaves a streak free surface that dries on its own with minutes. It has a dry function on the unit that I never found the need to use. If have a decent amount of hardwood in your home this product is a must. It's not something you would use weekly but is a must probably 3-4 times a year for a deep clean. Awesome product by Hoover.
