This vacuum got some stellar reviews. I mean, just look at the 5 star ratings. That's why I decided to purchase this unit. I am not a disgruntled person posting a negative review for the heck of it. I got this machine home and it damaged my hardwood floors right out of the box. I'm not posting this review about the motor, the suction power or overall performance. This review is only for people that are buying this unit to use on hard wood or tile floors. The bottom of the unit has two sturdy rubber wheels, but there are also two small hard plastic wheels on the under side. they rake across the floor when the unit is in use. Not only that, but the only thing keeping the whole thing from dragging directly onto the floor are teeny, tiny little bristles on the border of the unit. These might as well be for decoration. You can literally hear the dragging plastic across the floor when you roll it. This is a real issue. It scratched my wood floors, and I just paid over 18k for them. I'm posting this review for people with hard floors. If you do go ahead and purchase this machine, please inspect the bottom of your vacuum before you use it. You'll see and hear what I'm talking about. I did not get a lemon, this is a design flaw that can really cause damage. I've posted a photo in the customer photos section of this item, so that you can see what I'm talking about. I'm contacting Hoover to see if they'll pay for my damaged floor, but I doubt I'll have any luck. If you're just using this for carpet, you'll probably be fine. Be careful otherwise. Happy shopping.

I was ready to get a new vacuum, but there are so many out there, I was unsure what to buy. The one we had was very bulky and heavy, which was not ideal for our small apartment in NYC! My husband trusts the Hoover brand, and so we narrowed it down to this lightweight, easy to maneuver, easy to dump canister, battery powered, rollbrush, sleek vacuum that actually does what it says it does - vacuum! No more impartial pickups and shoddy hardware here! I love that it's battery powered - no more stepping over long cords that you have to unplug and plug in different rooms. The canister makes it easy to dispose what it picks up (and trust me, that vacuum gets full because it's good at what it does.) Vacuuming used to be a pain, but now it's non eventful, easy, and quick.

The cord is a thing of the past. Great battery life.

I'm an occasional user who was looking for a budget friendly product. I have more hard floors (wood and tile) than carpet, and this product is able to handle all the tile and floors in my house. It's a bagless machine that's easy to store and light weight. The only downside is that long hair gets caught in the bagless motor chamber, and it must be removed frequently.

I have a very small house, and the battery wont last to do the whole floor. However the suction is very good and picks up almost anything. I may have a defective one, will be exchanging.

Love this vacuum it works great for daily cat fur and litter cleanups. Lightweight and will do up to 2 large rooms on a charge.

Great alternative to the really expensive Dyson very easy to use.

I saw reviews wanting what they had before, but I am very happy with this purchase. Has enough suction, has the roller brush for carpet, and a removable rechargeable battery! Perfect!

I bought the Hoover Lynx for light cleaning of my floors and am so happy with the purchase. It is so easy to use and very lightweight and it does a great job cleaning my floors.

Excellent product. Maintains more than sufficient charge and is more powerful than other stick vacuums I have used.

I have had a Dirt Devil stick vacuum for a few years now. It has never been a stellar performer, but it would get some of the dog hair and dust picked up, so I kept using it. The DD was certainly no comparison to a full size corded vacuum. This Hoover is amazing by comparison. There is noticeable suction, and the beater actually leaves marks in the rugs and carpet, so you know it's making contact and brushing things up. As with most battery operated vacuums, the battery could stand to run longer, but the nice thing about the Hoover is that the battery is removable, and you can purchase a spare or two if you desire. I'm very happy with this unit and my house has rarely been cleaner.

I love this light weight rechargeable vacuum. It is so easy to take from place to place. It picks up well and easy to lift off the back container, push a button and the dust falls into the trash.

If I didn't have the Electrolux, that actually did not last long, (a small plastic piece of the wheel broke off) I would really love this vacuum. It's very good and doesn't quite last the whole 20 minutes. We have two large hairy (German shepherd and Burnese) dogs and it's been great to clean up after them.

Picks up great and battery life way longer then I was expecting! Does a great job along base of kitchen cabinets, brush mode also works well on hardwood floors as well as carpet areas. LIGHT WEIGHT AND WELL BALANCED.

I was looking for a stick vac for daily use. I am able to vacuum the living room, dining room, kitchen, hall and bathroom on a fully charged battery. It does a great job picking up pet hair and is easy to use.

I love that you can use this vacuum on multiple floor surfaces at a click of a switch ... and that it is light weight.

I always research products at different sites like Consumer Report, Google etc. before I buy them at Best Buy. This cordless stick vacuum is in the Top 5 for 2015 and it works wonderfully !!! I am glad Best Buy offered it with a 20% off special and I was also able to use my $5.00 reward certificate.
