I was excited at the thought of having a wet / dry vacuum for my garage that didn't require me to drag out the extension cord every time I wanted to clean the cars. This vacuum eliminates the cord hassle and makes easy work of cleaning cars and workshops. In the box is the vacuum, filter, hose, 2 x extensions, battery, charger, and attachments. I unboxed everything, put the battery on the charger, and starting putting the attachments in the onboard attachment holders. I really like the attachment holders, as they are bungee cord style, and hold everything securely in place. There are 4 latches that hold the vacuum to the canister, they are easy to open / close and the vacuum quickly fits into place. As far as actual use, the attachments are basic and allow for normal car detailing, floors, shop surfaces, etc. The suction is enough to clean up 98% of everything a farm vehicle offers - mud to food crumbs. Testing this out on a wet floor mat, it performed as expected, getting the majority of the water pumped out. I typically pull these vacuums around by the hose, and this one was sturdy and stable. No tipping or wheels binding to prevent it from rolling on rough concrete. Overall, I love the cordless feature, it greatly simplifies quick easy clean ups. The tools stay attached securely, and the vacuum seems sturdy enough to hold up to frequent use. I couldn't give it 5 stars due to battery life, it is advertised at 15 minutes, which is accurate, but still isn't quite enough to get through 2 vehicles in one charge. Also I found the hose to be a bit short for getting into a large truck, would like to see at least an 8' hose. Overall a great convenient vacuum for quick clean ups.

In the age of everything cordless this is a tool that has been needed. I have always hated being tied to a corded shop vac. You are constantly running over the cord, tipping it over and then have to shut it off so the float can reset etc. This is a great design with the wheels spread out so it doesn't tip over. It seems to have adequate suction and I was able to vacuum both my wife's SUV and my car and a portion of my garage floor and I still had battery left. Onboard tool storage is well thought out. The vacuum comes with a crevice tool, a 7 foot hose, 2 extension tubes and a floor tool that all store with elastic straps on the body. There is a 20 volt 4.0 Amp Hr rated battery and charger all in the box. Assembly was quick and easy as almost all the pieces are stored within the body of the vacuum in the box. There is a charge indicator on the battery that shows the state of charge. 4 easy to release clamps split the top and bottom for ease of emptying the unit. The only drawbacks I have seen are as follows: The elastic straps could be a little more secure or of a different style as you can knock the attachments out of the holders easier than I would like, but not any worse than my other shop vacs I have had. The battery charge time is quite long at about 3 hours to charge the battery fully. The floor tool is not completely flat where it contacts the floor but it till does a good job. Overall this is a great improvement over any other cordless vacuum I have used with the exception of my Dyson V-10 but that is more suited for in house rather than garage or shop usage and is more than twice the price of this unit. Overall very impressed and with the Hoover name on it I expect it to be reliable and long lasting. Highly recommended

Add one more tool to the list of those going cordless. The shop vac. In this case, the Hoover ONE PWR System Utility Vac, which promises wet/dry versatility and and the ability to do big shop cleanup jobs without the cord. As with many of these battery powered devices, the promise is only partially delivered -- at least compared to higher-powered brethren that plug into the wall. The ONE PWR vac will do the job sometimes, but it lacks the suction power of many corded models and is severely limited by just 20-30 minutes of go-time before the battery dies. That's long enough to do most quick cleanup jobs but not enough do large scale projects, especially since it takes about three hours to recharge the somewhat anemic 20-volt, 4 amp lithium-ion battery.(Which can be used on a big family of ONE PWR tools) Given the PWR ONE vac's high price, I was also disappointed by the dearth of included attachments -- just an 8-inch wide general purpose sweeper and a crevice tool. And even those are limited by some odd design choices. The sweeper tool, for example has large notches all the way around the bottom, where it makes contact with whatever you are trying to clean. And therefore cannot make a tight seal, which makes it nearly worthless for common jobs like vacuuming the carpets in your car, truck or SUV. The already limited power of the vac is further reduced by this design, and therefore the vac can't really pick up ground in dirt or sand. Just bigger lighter stuff on the surface. If you want to pick up loose dirt on a concrete floor, other hard surface, or sawdust, or spilled kitty liter, the ONE PWR vac delivers. Anything else, eh, it may or may not work. Leaf litter, for example, is a no-go except in very limited quantities. And even then I found the dried leaves tended to clog up the extension wand between the sweep attachment and the hose leading to the vac's dirt chamber. Not enough power to get them through. Pretty disappointing. If you can live with those shortcomings, this vac is otherwise mostly well designed. The main canister has big wheels on the side and small spinner type wheels front and back, which makes it very maneuverable. Big handles on both ends make it easy to pick up and empty when the cleanup job is done. It comes with a long, rather stiff plastic hose and two friction-fit extensions. When put together with the sweeper attachment, the two extensions are about the right height for vacuuming the floor, while standing up. Elastic plastic loops on the top of the unit are for storing the extensions when not in use but are a bit of a pain. It's Hard to get the pieces in and out of them Like most shop vacs, the top is held on with four latches, which makes it easy to remove when emptying. The motor is top mounted and battery slides in conveniently from the top. And the battery has a push-to-test button on top so you can determine remaining power. (A charger is included) The big depression in the top of the lid is for storing the hose when not in use, a good idea since it makes the unit more compact and easier to store. Overall, it's a decent design and adequate for small jobs that involve picking up lightweight debris. If you have more heavy duty work to do, look elsewhere. Nearly every corded model is much less expensive, has much more power and does not suffer from the limited run time of this one.

The vacuum is fairly compact given that I want a good capacity for the detritus it sucks up, and it is light enough to carry around. Though this is smaller than some, you really don't notice because after filling it half weigh--it becomes quite heavy and I don't know if any messes that you'd need to fill tanks up. The 4 gallon high capacity tank can hold just about anything that needs to be vacuumed up. I love that this vac can go anywhere you need it. It's powered by the Hoover universal battery. This battery is used in several Hoover products. It runs right out of the box but requires about 4 hrs or less to fully charge. Obviously, this means you plug the battery into a charging cradle, which is included. The hose stores conveniently on top of the tank and the whole systems rolls up easily and efficiently to the job site. The system comes with 3 years warranty which is really good. The only negative for me is that I did not see any additional accessories to buy for the dry vac, I would have liked to have a power brush to be able to suction the dog hair better. Overall, this is the best wet/ dry vacuum I’ve ever owned. I would definitely recommend this to everyone.

The Hoover battery powered wet dry vacuum has a lot more suction than I had expected. I used the vacuum to clean out a very dirty F250 to give it a good test run. The Hoover was able to remove all of this winter's dirt and rocks in about 11 minutes worth of cleaning. At the end of the 11 minutes the battery showed about 25% charge left. The vacuum comes with 1 battery, charger and accessories. The filter is easy to remove and the container is very easy to empty. I think you will need at least 1 additional battery to make this vacuum really useful for more than just cleaning a car floormats. The big advantage to a battery powered vacuum for me will be cleaning tents on camping trips, cleaning out the boat and drying the water out of the carpet and cleaning vehicles. For jobs like this, this is a terrific device. I just think it would be great to have a second battery.

I have owned many different shop vacs before and was interested to see how the Hoover onepwr portable shop vac stacked up against my older craftsman. Setup for the shop vac took less than a few minutes. The unit itself is lightweight and has holders for all the different attachments and hoses. The suction is probably the only thing I wish was a little stronger. It’s not bad but it’s not the same as a normal plugged in unit. It’s able to pick up crumbs and dust in my car which is what i will primarily use it for. Not having any cords and being lightweight are it’s best features. If you’re looking for a decent portable shop vac you can’t go wrong here I just wouldn’t expect it to replace your craftsman for major construction jobs.

So this is great. Just great Light and portable, and follows along like a puppy. Simple to use with the slide on battery pack, and single switch. Once on, packs a serious amount of vacuum power. We use it to clean our workshop after all the holiday craft making. Instead of lugging the big 4” hose around, this not-so little guy helps us clean up some of the hard to reach spots, or provides a quick reach option for some dust in groves Only downsides: Doesn’t come with a bristle attachment, and it would be great to have a second battery ready to go

Setup was easy and charging is pretty quick. I don't have another cordless wet/dry vac to compare it too, but it is as powerful as, and much easier to handle than, my old plug in canister type. great for getting into hard to reach places and for use on stairs - which was almost impossible to do with the old canister. Very happy to have this, just hope that the battery life (before replacement) is long.

The vacuum is great that you don't have to drag out long extension cords. The wheel design is very good and moves around the outside driveway very well while cleaning vehicle upholstery and the same for in the home and my work shop. The battery runs full power for about 20 minutes which is the longest time I've used it and still has half a charge indicated by 2 lights flashing when you drop it in the charger. Suction power is very good for wet or dry I think anyone would be pleased. I only gave 3 stars because it needs some better type pick up nozzles for vehicle cleaning and work shop cleaning than ones the provided. It only comes with a narrow thin nozzle good for corners and tight spaces and one wide thin opening nozzle which seems good for wet pick ups only. I think the flex hose provided should be a little longer for cleaning inside vehicles. But yes I would recommend this it has it's niche market being very portable and useful around the home and shop.

This vacuum is a godsend for cleaning out your vehicle. I have forever been annoyed with the traditional wet/dry vacs and their cords getting caught under the wheel of my truck when trying move around. This vacuum is great for moving around the vehicle with its front and back swivel wheels and then of course no cord. You do lose some suction being battery powered but its still plenty powerful to suck up dirt, pebbles, coins, water, and cereal from my vehicle with a charge that lasts about 20 minutes. For accessories it is missing a soft touch end that would be useful for going over tile or hardwood floors. Overall as you can guess I'm very satisfied with this mobile and cord free vacuum!

Expensive, limited battery life, weak suction

THE GOOD -Battery portability -Washable filter -360 pivoting wheels THE BAD -Expensive -Mediocre battery life -Lacks suction for serious shop vac cleanup -Attachments tend to fall off -Hose is stiff -Would be nice if the wheels could lock -No squeegee for wet surface cleanup -Limited battery cross-compatibility THE DETAILS The big question is whether the idea of a battery-operated shop vac is really necessary to the average garage or tool shop. Typically, a shop vac is used to clean up messes that you don't want to subject your indoor vacuum to. Sucking up sawdust, metal filings, water, maybe even nails and screws requires a string motor, and that's typically the problem with operating it on a battery. Unless the battery is quite large, you either lack power or longevity, usually both. So it is with the ONEPWR shop vac. It simply doesn't have the suction power I would expect or want from an outdoor shop vac and the battery doesn't last long enough to even do a thorough job of cleaning a small sedan. A heavy-duty shop vac this isn't. It comes with a crevice attachment and broad T-head, along with two wand extensions, which is great. As this is a wet/dry vac, it would be nice if it had some kind of squeegee attachment or insert for the T-head to vacuum water off a hard floor. And though the wand extensions strap firmly to the top of the vacuum, the other attachments rest in loose elastic loops on the back and they fall out easily. If you buy extra attachments to store back there and take up slack in the elastic line, it will be more secure. The hose is a good length, though it is quite stiff and the attachments don't rotate freely. The pivoting wheels are nice for toting it around, though I do wish there was some sort of wheel lock to keep it from rolling down a sloped driveway. But ultimately this comes down to the battery and price. The ONEPWR easily handles light-to-moderate cleaning, so cleaning out a car or vacuuming sawdust and leaves in the garage is no problem. But you're limited to about 30 minutes runtime. If you want a spare or replacement battery, that's another $100. The batteries are interchangeable with other Hoover ONEPWR devices, but that's mainly just other vacuums. If you absolutely need a battery-powered outdoor vacuum, getting one from DeWalt, Milwaukee, Makita, or Ryobi at least gves you battery compatibility with drills, saws, grass trimmers and other tools you're more likely to have ( the ONEPWR vac is the EXACT same vac as the Ryobi, it just uses a different battery ) But if you don't absolutely need a portable battery outdoor vacuum, a corded shop vac will give you much better suction, unlimited runtime, and all for less money.

This vacuum is great! It provides ample suction on a decent battery life. Note: the battery doesn't last forever and takes time to charge, but that's not the point. If you want a cordfree wet/dry vac option that will work great you will not be dissapointed. Extra bonus if you already have some of the ONEPWR products and can share batteries.

While the Hoover battery powered shop vac may not have quite the suction power of a corded model, the neat factor makes it worth it! I use this to keep the cars clean and it does the job with ease, more than enough power for me. I get plenty of run time from the battery, and even have an extra to power all of my Hoover OnePwr gadgets!
