Customers are saying

Customers have good things to say about the Power Path Pro Advanced Cleaner's cleaning performance, ease of use, lightweight design, and suction. Many appreciate its affordability and the useful attachments. However, some users mention challenges with the water tank filling up quickly and issues with the seal. Overall, the positive feedback on cleaning ability and ease of use outweighs the reported concerns.

    Hoover has bad customer service

First issue is with the gasket on the dirty water tank. The gasket and lid are not manufactured correctly. The gasket was popping out and giving me an issue attaching it to the container. Also it is not made to lockdown and tighten like it should. Hoover should have focused on making that part correctly since any leak there will cause major suction fade. To fix this temporarily I put petroleum jelly in the crevice where the gasket sits and popped in the gasket. It's kind of a mess but worked great! Second issue I had was with the hose leaking. I attached photos for people to see what I'm talking about. I added a rubber heat shrink down at the handle area of the hose and boy let me tell you it was way better in suction. Good luck to you and thanks for reading.

I like this cleaner because it is smaller than the big heavy ones I have had before. It does a great job cleaning, but I did have to scrub the stains by hand first. The "water only" option is great because you can rinse the carpet without adding shampoo so it doesn't leave a residue. The only down side is that the water tanks are very small so you have to constantly empty/refill them, but you would have to get a much larger and heavier machine to avoid that.

We were switching from a huge bissel that gave out on us to this one. I LOVE this one. It's much easier to use, simpler. I was able to complete my entire living room in under an hour and my living room was awful. I have two girls under 4 and they spill everything plus puppy and potty training accidents...it was bad. It didn't take long to dry after complete, I put an oscillating fan on and we went to the park, so about two hours. We didn't really need to leave but I wanted to. The soap that cam with it was enough to clean my living room and the extra i bought I'm just now using on my bedrooms. The only issue I had was i didn't notice the cardboard in the bristles and it got wet and sucked up into machine so i had to take it apart and clean it all out, but that was user error. We also had to dump and refill water three times but i knew that from previous posts about tank size. The attachment for small spots worked wonders on my car seats as well. Over all I love this carpet cleaner.

Love it... performs perfectly at every level... easy operation when cleaning, ergonomic design, powerful suction for drying, very active beater bars for scrubbing. The removable containers for chemicals and water seal off well and are easy to remove and replace. A major plus for me is the ability to easily remove, clean up, and replace the components after the job is done, leaving the machine clean and odor free for the next time. This machine is worth the $200. It delivers.

So far, I've only had this cleaner for close to a month, but I have used it on a decorative rug and the carpeting I have on the 2nd floor of my home. Overall, it did a pretty good job - much better on the low pile carpet than the decorative one that I have which is more like a Berber type. Both of my carpets were pretty dirty and I was surprised how much dirt I got out of my low pile carpet - even after I went through it with a rinsing pass it was still pulling dirt out of the carpet. One thing that I did notice is that it goes through water pretty fast, so best recommendations is to apply water in the push direction only and then suck it back up when you pull the unit back to you or otherwise you will be soaking the carpet pretty well. 2.) I didn't fill the formula tank all the way with formula since it goes through it very fast. I just filled it half-way and the other half with water. That was plenty of formula to clean the carpet. The down-side to this unit is the gasket for the water recovery tank cover. Its too small to lay completely flat within the grooves of the tank. And, if you put the tank cover back on without noticing that the gasket isn't sealing correctly, it wont pull the water back of the carpet properly as the gasket isn't sealing and creates a vacuum leak. IF you find that happening, just look at the recovery tank and most likely you will see the gasket hanging down a little within the tank. All you have to do is pull the tank back out, take the cover off, re-seat the gasket on the lid and hold it with your fingers when you go to put the lid back on and then you should be fine. I'm suspecting that a lot of people that say the unit isn't sucking the water back up is having this problem. *****Hoover, your engineers need to investigate this problem and correct it.***** Or, I just might have a bad gasket.

I have been using Hoover products for many years and this one didn't let me down either. It has great cleaning features and cleans your carpets with perfection! It's not a heavy machine and doesn't take alot of muscle to move it back and forth. Like the feature that it automatically measures out the amount of cleaner needed also, makes for less waste of product.

Had an older Hoover. Does a great job and is really easy to clean. The pieces come apart nicely and are easy to put back together. Suction is great and the double row of brushes helps get stains out quickly.

I have bought many carpet cleaners over the years, including several from the competition. This one has a nice big water tank that seems to last. It doesn't pick up as much water as it puts down for some reason but they're all like that. My years ago Hoover carpet cleaner had a very annoying tool attachment hose that kept falling off its hook (but lasted for years). This one completely detaches so it doesn't get in the way. Nice fix! I haven't tried it on hard floors. With other modern floor cleaners that are more lightweight I don't really see the point in getting this out for hard floors, maybe if you have a very large area, but I do love it for carpets. It does a great job. I have used it in my whole house at this point and everything came up clean and refreshed.

We had 2 older carpet cleaners (a Hoover and a Bissell) and both sets of brushes quit working and was unable to fix. After researching based on price and effectiveness and that it was on sale, we went with this cleaner. The good: (1) The clean water and dirty water containers are better than my older model in design. (2) The separate soap dispenser is great and it lasts a long time. (3) Cleans the carpets well with the dual brushes (rolling and 360). (4) Not quite as heavy as the older hoover. (5) Easier to clean the area where the water is suck in as it does not require you to remove screws. The bad: (1) The hose that came with it is very cheap plastic and not near as good as my older model. Unfortunately, while the brush attachment IS interchangeable, the hose it now. (2) When pulling backwards it does not suck up the water very well. However, when you are pushing forward it sucks up the water very well.

Very easy to use and was more portable than the other machines. I honestly thought the carpet of my new home was gray but when I cleaned it turned light brown. I was going to pay a professional to come and clean but they wanted to charge 130 for the work. For 30 dollars more I got this wonderful machine and now can clean any stains my 2 year old daughter is bound to make. I highly recommend this product. If used properly this machine will leave your carpet like new.

If you are looking for a good carpet cleaner at a reasonable price, try this one. We've had several Bissells, but each developed leaks or simply quit working after a few years. One kind of expects (if one is old school) a household implement like this to last a while, even if it's made of plastic, if it is treated gently and used properly. So, we're trying Mr. Hoover this time. So far, no leaks. Easy to use. Easy to setup out of the box. Price was nice. Lighter than the Bissells we had. Is it a thing of beauty? Nope. Do we trot it out and show off to our friends when they visit? Nope. Does it have more than 128GB of internal storage and Gorilla Glass? Not that I've noticed. Does it clean carpets well? Yes. Is it easy to carry up and down stairs? Yes. Would I recommend it? Yes. Will it still work in five or ten years? I got no idea, but I hope so.

Was a better investment for us the continuously renting a rug doctor. It works quite well I would say equal. Does not pick up water quite as well as the Rug Doctor, but they are different types of machines, just need to let dry a little longer. Does great on stairs and very good for spot cleaning, can't complain too much. Overall a good purchase would recommend.

This shampooer is lightweight, easy to assemble and use. To wash furniture you just plug in the hose. When dumping the dirty water tank, the new rubber seal needs to be stretched a bit to stay in place before the lid will close properly. A row of extra scrubbing wheels does a great job removing stains..I am very satisfied with this purchase.

The cleaner does a good job. It is on the small side and I don't like having to take the top off the dirty water each time to dump it. My last machine you removed a cap and poured it out. So much easier. All in all the machine does a good cleaning job.

I liked that. The unit was very easy to assemble. I was actually surprised at how simple it was. The detergent that is included with it isn't very much and didn't last me long enough to finish my whole house, granted I went over certain areas a few times. It did make a noticeable difference on my carpet. It didn't look brand new when I was done, but the worst of the dirt and the stains are gone. I used the upholstery attachment to clean my car mats and it made the most dramatic difference on those. I will buy next time.

Could not be happier with the performance of this carpet cleaner. Old stains, new stains, whatever....works really well. Can't compare to other cleaners but it removed 90 percent of pet stains and the ones it didn't completely remove are much more faded looking. I liked that this cleaner has a separate tank for the solution and clean water. My only complaint is that the clean and dirty water tanks aren't larger which results in having to change out/add too fairly often. Thats just nature of the beast though.
