A worthy cordless vacuum cleaner

This is a great vacuum that is very multifunctional. You can use the smallest size for quick jobs, the long extender for crevices, corners and cobwebs and there is even a bottom attachment for regular vacuum cleaning. The unit comes with a crevice tool, dusting brush, my favorite a pet upholstery tool, pivoting extension tool, my second favorite the powered stair tool, and a reach want tool storage kit. I can go from cleaning wall to wall carpet, to cleaning the cat hair off of my couch, cleaning up cobwebs on the ceiling with minimal effort. My couches were filled with cat hair and took a lot the first time to clean, but after the initial cleaning now the maintenance is super easy and much faster. The powered stair cleaner is awesome. I no longer have to use a crevice cleaner to vacuum the stairs that have outdoor carpeting and no more lugging my standup vacuum cleaner and trying to balance it on the steps as I am hunched over vacuuming. I have too kids and the floor sense is awesome. Now after a meal, we just vacuum up on the linoleum floor. The best part is that it is cordless. No more plugging in and unplugging to the next outlet. I have a house that has multiple surfaces a couple of rooms with wall to wall carpet, outdoor carpet, wood floors, linoleum and tile. The Hoover comes with FloorSense Technology where it is able to detect a change in floor type. I found that it worked well. The bottom attachment for regular vacuuming is nice too. It has a far reach and goes under tables, chairs and desks much better than a standup vacuum. You can also easily disengage the brush to clean up all the hair and debris that you are going to collect. The Hoover was able to adjust from when I went to the carpet to the wood floor. You can turn off the sensor too and have the brush working all of the time too. I even used this in my car which was great. It doesn't work as well as a shop vac, but for a quick clean it is awesome. No more working around the cord and getting tangled up and having to stop everything so you can vacuum the other side of the car, a real time saver.
Pros
Super convenient
Truly multifunctional
Cord Free
Upholstery tool
Stair cleaning tool
Cons
Battery only last an hour
I highly recommend this as an all in one cleaner especially for daily or even weekly cleaning. This is really a very convenient, multifunctional vacuum cleaner that will clean almost every where that is also cordless so you really vacuum anywhere in your house and be free of trying to find an outlet.

This is the Batman of vacuums

This vacuum has more accessories than Batman's belt. I love all the options and attachments, I don't think there is another possible tool. I attached a picture but not shown is the main vacuum head. My reason for the one star loss is not having a docking wall mount. I get having batteries so you can purchase a spare and use this bad boy all day if needed but you still could have a wall charger with a spare battery port, my two cents. Speaking of batteries be sure you slide the notches into the slots on the charger and vacuum so the battery will seat properly. The small rotary tool is great for the furniture, dog beds and even the mattress. I have hard woods throughout with tile in the bathrooms and area rugs here and there, and this guy wouldn't quit. It adjusted the rollers and power as needed and the double tap of the trigger kept the motor on which is a fantastic feature. All in all this is a great vacuum with many options and I wouldn't hesitate to tell anyone to pick one up. Oh and the led lights are great, especially for dark hard wood floors.

Just a mediocre stick vacuum

After trying this Hoover stick vacuum, count me as not impressed. We also have a Shark stick vaccum, and the Hoover doesn't even come close in the power department.
Upon opening the box, the array of attachments is impressive. There is everything you need to suck up debris. If only this thing was powerful enough. It seems to clog pretty easily with pet hair, and after awhile just feels kind of flimsy. It works, but just not up to our standards. Maybe we are just in love with our Shark.

Starts Off Strong But Ends Up Disappointing

At the beginning, this Hoover started out like some of the other cordless stick vacuums of late. Great initial power, some floor detection gimmick, and relatively light weight for a vacuum that is supposed to cover your entire home. It also comes with an app! An App! However, after going though a few uses, there's an annoying recurring issue of blockage from what turns out to be pretty small objects (cat food, scrap of paper). At least there's a flashing light to let you know what's actually happened. The dust bin is also just a bit undersized for a whole home vacuum.
So, starting out, the hoover is pretty well packaged. It looks good, but so do most of it's competitors. There's a lot of pieces initially to snap together, but the overall package fits well. Weight is a bit of a mixed bag. Sure, it's relatively light, but being a semi powerful battery powered stick vacuum, the weight is also a bit strangely distributed for something that even though it rolls along the floor, you will be supporting with your arm muscles. Perhaps that explains the bin size, just big enough to outlast your arms getting tired.
My initial impressions were that the vacuum was pretty powerful. It did a good job picking up messes and hair in a home frequented by two cats, one which chews with it's mouth open. The first few uses were otherwise as you'd expect. New vacuum does a good job with no real complaints. The head works great in a home where one floor is tile and the other floor is carpeted. You can easily move from one level to the other without needing to switch vacuum heads, change settings, etc. While I have poked some fun at the weight distribution, moving up stairs puts this vacuum at a distinct advantage versus canister vacs or beefier uprights.
So, it's with some disappointment that I ran into issues. Like with many things, the problems came on a bit later. The vacuum would simply seem to choke on random little bits. I'm not sure if it's a design issue that some units randomly seem to have, or emblematic of the model. Maybe it's a side effect of the "react" feature. It's nice that it auto adjusts from hard floors to carpet or maybe I needed to play around with the app a bit more, but in the end, I was left wanting.
The app connectivity didn't really add value to the vacuum. While it's kinda cool, it's also pretty useless. There's nothing the app does that isn't readily handled on the vacuum itself other than getting slightly more direct access to support. That the app (android at least) didn't work that well at times and requires some questionable permissions for a vacuum (why does the vacuum require location information) doesn't help.

Flexible Cleaning at a Great Price

The Hoover React Pet Stick Vacuum is a great vacuum. It does an excellent job picking up even the hardest materials for most vacuums to get, which is wonderful. We have upholstered dining room chairs that our cat lays on. In the past, it has been incredibly hard to remove the hair. This vacuum seems to have been born to clean pet hair quickly.
The other main advantage this vacuum has over my old vacuum is its ability to seamlessly switch between wood flooring and carpets or rugs. The Hoover React system prides itself on its "FloorSense" technology. Essentially, the vacuum has sensors on it to detect what type of flooring it is working on, and adjusts itself as needed.
The dirt collection bin is nice because is is big enough that it will hold of of the particles, dust, dirt, and pet hairs that you vacuum, without needing emptied mid-cleaning. It is also very easy to empty. I love bagless vacuums, but have had a few where it was a hassle to remove or empty the collection bin. That isn't the case with the Hoover React.
The battery life on the Hoover React is more than ample to vacuum an entire 2200 square foot house and two cars on one charge. Which will more than suit most user's needs.
Speaking of cleaning cars, removing the "wand" attachment on the Hoover React makes is small enough to really give your car a good cleaning. The combination of the small size and being cordless make it much easier to clean your car than with a conventional vacuum. Cleaning my car was a snap and it looked great when I was done.

A Wonderful Cordless Vac

FINALLY, a cordless vacuum cleaner which allows you to give away all your heavy corded ones. It's that powerful and yet easy to use and maneuver.
The battery is really long lasting. To recharge you just pop it out and place it in the charging unit. The battery can not be left in the unit to recharge. Hoover claims the battery lasts 3 times longer than the competition and I believe it.
The "Floorsense" feature really works. You no longer have to locate a hard to find switch or change to a different speed to go from carpet to bare floors, The cleaner figures it out for you and you can hear the speed adjust.
The REACT comes with more different attachments than you'd probably ever use. The small motorized brush attachment works great on stairs (you'll love how much easier it is to vaccum stairs without a power cord hanging down to add weight and possibly trip you.) The various attachments made it especially easy to clean my car.
The biggest negative of the unit is the fact that when your phone rings or you have other interruptions you need to lie the unit down flat on the floor. It is NOT freestanding. It has a wall hanging bracket to drill to your wall when you're not using it. Also as others have said, when emptying the cup, pet hair and dust got stuck around the metal filter
No product is perfect however, and these complaints are minor compared with how much you'll love using the Hoover REACT.

So I've been testing out this handy Hoover React Whole Home Cordless Pet Stick Vacuum over the last 24 hours and I must say I'm impressed. Assembly was easy to nothing at all, snap 3 pieces together and it was pretty much ready to go. The battery surprisingly was already fully charged, which allowed me to quickly test it out. Although not fully clear as to the usefulness of the companion app, I downloaded it from the App Store. The stick vac is very lightweight and makes easy to do quick run-overs instead of pulling out the big vacuum. I love that it work both on carpet and hardwood floors as well. I also used it to run across my kitchen floor too. Haven't had the need to use the additional tools that also came packaged but probably will soon being a pet owner. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick and easy to use stick vac to vacuum your whole home.

Vacuum works great as quick mess clean up. Easy to navigate around furniture, runs for about 40-60 min on a charge. Bucket is easy to empty as well. Does struggle with items that a full size would easily get but that’s to be expected.

Wireless Vacuum

This I my first Hoover product.
The Good:
Wireless (cordless)
Mobile vacuum (hand vacuum) and easy to convert to floor vacuum
Lots of useful extension (for pets)
Automatic floor detection feature (rollers will adopt)
LED Lights
Battery life
The Bad:
Drill the wall to mount the vacuum (optional)
Could be heavy for kids to use
Charging station looks cool but could be bulky and large for some spaces
Overall, I think it is an average vacuum as compared to my Dyson hand vacuum but the Dyson lacks all the useful extensions and shorter battery life..

Worst Vacuum I Have Ever Owned

Purchased, took home, assembled and charged the battery. Had to stop on the first use (less than 5 minutes) as the pet hair clogged the suction thus lost power. When I went to clean out, the hair would not come out as it was trapped around the top section of the collector. I had to sweep it out with my fingers. Tried again and the same thing happened. Hair would not fall out even when you shook it as hard as you could. I have always loved Hoover, but they have had a major fail here.

Hi Bill1146, Thanks for taking the time to review the REACT Whole Home Cordless Pet. We understand you’re frustrated with the dirt cup being a pain to empty and we have a fix for this! Check out this video on emptying your dirt cup (https://youtu.be/BysFPIJT3Lg) or follow these steps:
1. Press the Dirt Cup Release button 2. Next press the Dirt Empty button over a trash bin 3. Pull out the separator from the top of the dirt cup (this is the part with the rinsable filter on top. The entire piece is removable). 4. Wipe away the dirt and debris with a microfiber cloth.
We certainly hope this helps! If you continue to run into issues please reach out to us directly at 1-888-679-2121 for further assistance. Thanks! Jenna

I was very excited about this at first. We bought it the last week of November and the clasp that holds the dirt trap closed broke in January. It still closes but if I barely bump it, it will open and dirt goes EVERYWHERE. In May, the battery stopped charging. I will have to buy a $75 replacement on Amazon.
I have a 1300 sq ft house (all tile and 1 large rug) and I can vacuum my living room, kitchen, and bedroom before the battery starts dying.

Worst purchase I have ever made

Thought this would be a great vacuum, boy was I wrong. First of all you have to drill a bracket into wall to store, will not stand up by itself when you need to stop periodically. Clogs constantly. Very awkward to empty dirt contents. Very POOR design. After 2 months this morning I threw into trash.
