Works great untill the clip that holds the guard tgat covers the brushes breaks.Ive bought three now and all three broke the same way.Once that little clip breaks off it loses suction but other than this its a great shampooer suction is great easy to clean fill and empty cleans any stain or mess quickly and efficiently.I just wish thwy would fix the clip and it would be perfect!

This is the best carpet cleaner I have ever used. It’s super lightweight and easy to use. I can carry it with one hand up and down my stairs. The attachment parts all work great. Very easy to put together and the best part about it for me, with having dogs in my house, is that pretty much the whole thing can come apart and to be cleaned out when I’m done using it! No stinky, wet dog hair left in it or old dirty water in places that won’t dry out easily like many I’ve had. I also have 5 children plus myself and husband and we have a lot of heavy traffic areas for shoes on our carpet and it brought back to the original carpet color on almost all of my carpet. The dark spots DID NOT come back after the carpet dried either, like most do! I’ve done a lot of research and I am very glad I found this one and for a very reasonable price for the quality of work that it does. There is also no ratio mixing for the solution and water. You just put in your cleaning solution in one container and clean water in another and go! Highly recommend this to anyone! I regret not having before and after pictures to share.

I have the Bissell Big Green. It cleans well, but very difficult to maneuver. I saw the SmartWash online and the great reviews it got, I decided to pick up one. This machine is so easy to use and it's lightweight, which means it's very easy to maneuver. I like the idea that you do not have to mix cleaning solution with water, which saves on cleaner as you can just pour any cleaning solution left over back into the original bottle. I did my whole house and the carpets look wonderful. It was a little more difficult doing the stairs because the machine doesn't easily fit on a stair. I was afraid it would tip over and fall down the stairs. The powerful suction of the hose and attached brush cleaned the stairs very well. The carpets did not feel soaked afterwards, I went back over the carpet using the Dry only mode to extract any extra water.

Ive been worried about taking good care of my new home carpets and after a lot of research i settled with this. Its a great design first as it is extremely convenient to work with. Also everything is pretty much easy to handle with water, shampoo and dirt collection all segregated very well. Also easy to clean a large home and sometimes need a few redos for stain areas. Great proce as this sort of service from an external vendor or a rental equipment would significantly higer yet not sure if it could beat the quality. A definite must at each household

This shampooer is so easy to use and easy to clean! I’m beyond pleased with it! I have four pets...two cats and two dogs. One dog is German Shepard and the amount of hair my vacuum was leaving behind is shocking to me. And it’s top of the line! My carpet was beyond stained and now looks fluffy and clean. I had horrible wax stains in my carpet from when my cat knocked over a lit candle. It splattered everywhere and this cleaner took out the stains with ease! Also the drying function works great! Helps the carpet dry faster by removing any excess water. This is shampooer is well worth the money! The only thing that can be improved on is the cord holder hook. It doesn’t hold the cord at all. Other than that super happy I bought it!

I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to do so because I've never used a product where the designers literally thought of everything a consumer would want. This machine is a powerhouse, it sucks up hidden dirt effortlessly! When you see the tank after one room, you won't believe it. Our 19 year old carpets look brand new again. I can't say enough positive things about the quality of the machine, its capabilties, features, and ease of use. A few tips: 1. Vacuum room first with regular vacuum, otherwise you will end up with small dust balls all over. 2. Pre-treat heavily soiled about at least an hour before cleaning carpet. 3. Push forward on wash cycle quickly, and pull back on dry cycle very slowly. 4. After room is finished, remove cleaner from dispenser and vacuum room once more. This will be a rinse cycle to pull up any soap remaining in your carpet (which will later attack dirt). 5. Turn on the dry button to go over your room a third time if you want floors to dry faster. 6. Empty dirty water and remove dirt amd fibers from brushead often! 7. Use the handheld hose for steps, hard to reach areas, and heavily spoiled spots (with rubber brush, not bristle scrubbing brush). You will be amazed at your results, and it is well worth the money to have your own--machine rather than renting one that was probably not sanitized. Especially now...

We’ve only used the cleaner twice since purchase on 1/23/2020, but so far the cleaning is excellent, use is simple, it’s light weight makes it easy to use, and the included 5 year manufacturer’s warranty gives me peace of mind. On one occasion I wasn’t aware that I hadn’t completely closed the clean water tank and couldn’t understand why there was no suction. Easily solved. I like that the nozzle and brushes can be removed to thoroughly clean the machine. Be sure to rinse the carpet with warm water after cleaning and dry with the dry only option. This removes the last dirt and detergent from the carpet. I love my new machine and my clean carpets!

I've had no problems with it. It does a really good job cleaning my rugs and it's easy to use. I don't give anything these days an excellent rating.

I was absolutely amazed how the Hoover Smartwash was able to get my 23 year old carpets cleaned! I really like the new design and look. It’s lightweight and so easy to maneuver. I’m not only impressed how clean my carpets got but actually how easy it was to take it apart to clean and reassemble after using! Highly recommend the Hoover Smartwash!

Like the easyness to push and pull without trigger. Also easy to clean compared to my previous Hoover. Light too. Switch to only suck water is handy. Cons: Cleaning liquid i premixed by machine and no way to decrease that if you are running out of the solution. Amount of liquid in forward push is also not in our control as there is no trigger.

I have previously owned Bissell carpet cleaners. I purchased the GSP with them. So after exchanging the 2nd one because it was not suctioning water from the carpet. I decided to switch brands. So happy I did. I have a puppy. This carpet cleaner is amazing on puppy messes. Much better then the previous brand. My carpets look brand new. Very easy to use. Easy to clean & Light weight.

Love this thing. I always use this thing not as much as I’d like but like 5 times a year. And have shad it for a while now. And it works as good as it did out of the box. Cleans really well you will see the difference

This is the best 200 bucks I have ever spent! Hands down the absolute easiest machine to operate. This washer is better than professional carpet cleaning which I was having done every 3 months (I’m a clean freak). Before I purchased this machine my dog had an accident (urine) and I had professional carpet cleaning done TWICE on the area and it still did not get the smell completely out. I bought this and used it over that area and there is absolutely no smell whatsoever. I purchased the Hoover Expert Pet Spot treatment enzyme spray as well and pre-treated the spot with that and in conjunction with the carpet washer it completely removed the odor. There wasn’t any stain because I initially caught it early enough but there was another occasion where I did have a stain/spot that I had to use the machine on and it did remove not only the odor but the stain/spot as well. I would, however, use the enzyme spray along with the machine for any pet messes. Buy it, you won’t regret it!!

I love this steam cleaner! It is easy to use, easy to clean, and lightweight. I have very thick California Berber carpet and the steam cleaner pummeled the dirt out of it and left my carpet looking like new. None of the seals leaked and the dry feature meant I could move my solid wooden tables and shelves back the same day. Would recommend this for anybody!

This is the first carpet cleaner I have owned in years. (I currently need one often.) Very easy to use, does a great job. (I used the permanent stain remover formula.) Cleaning up after using is well-amazing. Parts easily come off so you can clean, air dry and reattach. Maneuverability of cleaner is great! Fairly lightweight!

Pros: It has a large tank and fairly long cord so you do not have to stop too often. It is easy to clean after use. It is light weight. It provides a deep clean without oversaturating. Cons: It does not have a button to spray extra detergent if needed. The dry function is not easy to use. It tends to leave leftover debris behind (that needs to be picked up) after passing over your carpet.

Easy to use, lightweight, gets the job done, and was priced reasonably

I am thrilled with my new carpet cleaner. It is super easy to use and works wonders. There are 3 separate compartments for clean water, dirty water, and cleaning solution. There's not really any way to mix them up, and they go in and out very easily. We moved into a home that has cream-colored carpet, and we figured being pet parents would mean we would have to replace it fairly quickly, but I've been using the carpet cleaner for spot cleans and for occasional general cleaning and the carpet looks great!!! Based on the great performance of it so far, I'm hopeful this machine will give us a several more years of life out of this carpet so we can focus on other home projects. VERY pleased with this purchase.

Great Shampooer!! I love this carpet cleaning machine!! The last one I owned was a Bissell and decided to give Hoover a chance. So far I very happy with the purchase!
