Used it once, followed the directions and then broke. Hopefully we can have it replaced!

Had to wait for a month and did not get it untill i called to find out were it was.

bestbuy gave me the display one and charged full price for it and it was missing a part.

After 3 months it does not work and the brushes dont move

The Hoover Smartwash Carpet Cleaner is an excellent addition to your carpet maintenance regiment. It excels at making carpets look new again leaving the place looking and smelling clean. With the 13" wide dual brush heads and 10A motor, you are getting a double scrubbing cleaning machine that blows through large areas in no time. The "smart" vacuum that knows when to dispense cleaning solution and when to dry the carpet with all mixing handled for you. There is no button to hold down while wetting the carpet so that makes things "smart". Push to shampoo and pull to dry… THAT SIMPLE! With Heat Force, you get hot air blown onto the carpet to help dry things more too! Never again will you have to wonder if you are over-saturating your carpet as it handles all that too. With antimicrobial brushes and the scrubber/pet attachment you won't harbor germs. This just sounds too good to be true, but it is! Assembly was fast and easy with my setup time coming in at just under 5 minutes from building to filling. The tanks are easily removed and I had no issues with filling/emptying. The brushes too are easy to remove and clean as well. Don't lose the "lift" tabs used to secure them to the machine or you will be down a brush or two. These are not part of the brush but they do house some SUPER SMOOTH ball bearings instead of just friction in a plastic hole found on other shampooers. This is a PLUS for me in the build department. The pet attachment has antimicrobial rubber feet that do an excellent job of removing hair and other surface dust without damaging material you connect to an 8ft hose to get things done! It works well on stairs, furniture, cars, and carpets! The machine's overall build quality feels on the cheap side. The door that covers the dual brushes is cheap flimsy plastic that I worry won't last and the gray trim around the door almost snaps off if you do not line things up perfectly. The latch that secures the door to the machine is extremely cheap and I fear will be the Achilles heel for this machine. Should it break, you will get no suction. Let's not mention the toy quality wheels it rolls on that I hope hold up in time. I am not sure how difficult finding replacement parts will be, but I hope not to have to find out. Aside from the build quality concerns I have the machine is EXCELLENT in form and function. The intuitive vacuum-like experience it provides will make LOTS of people happy. I like the fact the solution is separate and you do now have to mix it with the water. There are 4 different tanks on this machine (dirty, clean, pre-treat, and solution) to keep up with, so have some fun. With the "Dry Only" button, you can essentially turn this into a wet-vac as well to just pickup water. There are attachments for cleaning stairs and upholstery that has rubber fingers that work great at removing hair from surfaces. After renting a "commercial grade" carpet cleaner a year ago, in comparison, I would say this little machine does just as good if not better. It is not as bulky and awkward to maneuver like the other machines out there which is great! The whole things weighs a little over 20lbs. If you can vacuum you can use this machine without worrying about over-saturating your carpets. There is a pre-treatment wand which eliminates the need for a separate spot remover pre-treatment from a spray bottle. It is battery operated running off just 2 AAA batteries which I plan to change to rechargeable after they die. This is innovation at its finest and I have not seen another shampooer with this feature built-in to the vacuum. The included cleaning solutions all work well and smell great! In all, aside from my concern of build quality, I would recommend this to all homes with pets and children who like to stain/dirty your carpets. For the price, I cannot recommend a better option for homes around the world!

This is really an easy to use and clean carpet cleaner for people with or without pets. The deep bristles really are firm and get deep into your carpets fir a good through cleaning. The pretreat wand is easy to use and helps direct concentration of cleaning fluids to spots that really need it. While it is heavy, the motorized base makes it effortless to push and pull. My carpet and various pet chairs and beds look new and smell fresh. A real keeper. Easy to use and A bit of effort Tom clean the machine but worth it, especially given the results

I have a German Shepherd, which I recently adopted. I was worried about keeping the house clean, and as odor-free as possible. This carpet cleaner couldn't be easier to use. Push forward to wash, pull back to dry. It was a breeze to set up, and easy to clean after use. This has made owning a pet a lot less stressful! One tip: clean with your pet outside, and let the carpet dry completely (using fans if you have them), before letting your pet back inside. This will greatly help reduce odors!

The Hoover Smartwash Pet Complete carpet cleaner is super easy and works really well. The carpet cleaner arrived in a rather compact box, so I was expecting to have to put a lot of parts together, but to my surprise there were only 3 main components that a 5 year old could assemble (but best to do it yourself!). Just slide the clean water tank in place, slide the wand in place, and you're in business. There was also a nice separate bag to hold the hand held hose when not in use. That's something else I like about this carpet cleaner. Every other carpet cleaner I have used had a thick hose attached to it permanently, which means you had that much more weight to push around and sometimes it would get in the way. I really like being able to store the hose separately and only put it on the cleaner when needing to use the hand wand. Speaking of the hand wand, the wand has a battery operated pump that can dispense cleaning solution directly onto a spot for extra spot treatment. You simply pull off the wand and shoot a little cleaning solution on the spot. The cleaner is also very easy to use. You don't even need to push different buttons for wash and dry. You use it simply like a regular vacuum. When you push forward the water and soap is dispensed, when you pull back the dry stroke begins. There is also an option to dry only so that when you push or pull it is drying instead of cleaning. Most importantly, the cleaner seemed to do a great job cleaning up the carpets. And we have two cats, one of whom shall we say, made some messes sometimes. It was clear to me the cleaner was picking up mild stains and was washing the carpet deeply. This cleaner is highly recommended.

If you have pets (or not) and want easy carpet cleaning, this is the one for you! No mixing of solution, so none is wasted on small jobs. pre-treat/spot treat wand built in and does an amazing job. Upholstery attachment works great. This is replacing an older competitors pet model that seemed to work ok, but isn't as handy. You do need to go slow, and depending on room size, may have to dump the dirty water and refill clean. But this makes it lighter and easier to use than a commercial rental. The separate cleaning fluid tank is nice, no wasted cleaner. No pre-mixing. If you have a pet accident in one spot, put some water in, clean the spot and go, easy peasy. I especially like the "Dry only" feature. going over the carpet an extra time or two really decreases drying time.

This machine is great for cleaning carpets regardless of if you have pets or not. I cleaned a bedroom carpet that hasn't been cleaned in over 30 years and it came out great. It was pretty easy and effective. I love that the machine sucks up the dirty water and helps to dry the carpet. Having to wait all day for the carpet to dry is now a thing of the past, especiall if you turn on the "dry only" option. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the wand feature for spot treatments. I think it is a waste of time to put batteries and solution in the wand when you can just directly spot treat an area without it. I would rather have a sturdy handle.

I have two kids and two pet rabbits, and needless to say they do a number on our carpets. This not only gets out old stains and dirt, but makes your carpets look like new again.

Bought this because my wife kept renting the carpet cleaners at the grocery store. This works as well or better

I have had 2 of these- the first worked great once. Then I noticed there was a crack somewhere in the bottom because it started to spit all the dirty water back out. I exchanged it for an identical model. Everything was fine for about 6 months - it worked pretty well- I swish the suction was better because I felt like these was a lot left in the carpet, but it was something I could deal with. One of my favorite features is how easy it is to take apart & clean. Last week, as I was using it, the belt broke. I went only to buy a replacement and I couldn't find one. So I started do research the issue and found out that you can't replace the belt on this carpet cleaner. I really don't understand why- everything else is working ok- it is just a belt. So I bought the most expensive carpet cleaner I could find and after less than a year- I can't use it anymore. So, I guess it was good while it lasted- but not long enough to be worth the price.
