Customers are satisfied with the SmartWash PET Corded Handheld Deep Cleaner's excellent carpet cleaning, ease of use, and relatively quick drying time. Many appreciate its lightweight design, making it easy to maneuver, and powerful suction. While some wish for a longer cord, the overwhelmingly positive feedback points to a highly effective and user-friendly cleaning experience. A few users experienced issues with the belt.

Had high hopes. Loved the ease, features and how the mixing with the solution ran. Reviewed the heck out of it. Even have an old Hoover this was meant to replace. Got it home, did 2 rooms. Really loved it. Move to room 3 and beyond, dry was toggling off and on as I was going forward. Wouldn’t power on at one point, thought it was the outlet, nope. Reseated everything, cleaned, tried again. Ok for a while. Started again. It’s Going back tomorrow. 2 stars for good concept, and wanted to love it. Execution is horrid. Do a search in questions for “dry” and you’ll see this appears to be a rampant issue. Don’t have the patience to call Hoover support for something I literally just bought today for 300 bucks. Seriously disappointed.

Setting: 5 family members, 3 dogs, a cat, a rabbit, 20 yr old carpet Given the above, your imagination will certainly come up with plenty of scenarios where carpeting takes a beating. Store rental carpet cleaners vs. professional carpet cleaners was the choice we have if we wanted to keep the carpets clean and and prolong their life as much as possible. Cleaned the entire house over a few days and the carpeting came out looking not new, of course, but like it has many fewer years of foot traffic as well as accidents on it. It looks amazing! Walking barefoot on it is no longer a cringe-worthy experience, it's actually soft and the pile stands up considerably. While not completely dried after cleaning, it took little time to fully dry and be ready for traffic [overnight]. The unit is easy to use, a bit thirsty but easy refilled as needed. I truly cannot recommend more highly!!!

This performs great, no more getting down on the carpet to scrub stains. Even in households without pets, this is everything you'll need, but for a home with pets, it does an amazing job. My cats are well trained and we've had no accidents in that regard, but there have been a couple places of regurgitated cat food that I spot cleaned but weren't quite clean enough for me, and a mystery spot that no one owned up to- these were the main areas I needed cleaned, plus the high traffic areas of the living room and hallway. Usually pet products are designed to deal with the toughest of stains or odors, and that's why I wanted this product, although I do have two cats (and a dog who visits). This didn't have too many parts, and was easy to assemble. I could have put it together without instructions, since it was mostly assembled already, but I did read the manual. The user manual is very clear about putting it together, using the different features, and cleaning and maintaining it after use. It's also very easy to use. There's a tank for the cleaning solution, one for clean warm water, and one for dirty water. The pretreating wand also has a small tank for the solution to pretreat stains. I had one large spot that I pretreated and let sit while I did another part of the room, for about 15 minutes. When I went over it with the cleaner, the spot just about disappeared with the first pass, and was definitely gone the second time I went over it. The whole carpet is the cleanest it has ever been. Except for those two areas, I didn't think it was that dirty, but this pulled up dirt and cat hair I didn't realize was down in the carpet. I thoroughly vacuumed right before, and still it pulled out more than I expected. The manual mentions the antimicrobial brush and pet tool; the results which are things you can't see, but can feel better about that extra bit of cleaning this provides, especially when you have pets or kids on these floors. After filling the the cleaner with carpet cleaning solution and warm water, then plugging in, it's as simple as pushing the handle release button and the the power button, both with your foot and no effort. Then you basically vacuum the carpet, except that moving forward cleans and pulling back dries, and you want to go a little slower than you would vacuum. The machine covers a wider area than the vacuum, so you don't have to make as many passes. After cleaning, the solution tank can be removed to go over it again with just warm water. Then push the dry only button and go over the carpet to remove all the excess water. No more wet carpets to worry about. It couldn't be easier to use, and the results are amazing. I wish I had taken before and after pictures. I especially like that you don't have to push a button or trigger to dispense the carpet shampoo. It automatically mixes with the water, cleaning as you push forward. Another thing I liked is the design- the removable parts came off easily, and reattached in the same way, so most people can handle this without assistance. I know I've used easy or easier multiple times, but I was surprised how much less effort this takes compared to previous products I've tried. This carpet cleaner gets the job done really well without seeming like work. If you can vacuum, you can clean with this, and I'm happy with the results.

    Good, Simple, Effective Carpet Cleaner

THE GOOD -It really is "Push forward clean / pull back dry" -Easy to fill, no pre-mixing cleaners or solutions -Battery operated pre-treat wand -Includes stair/upholstery head and long hose -Comes with nice accessory storage bag that hangs in a coat closet THE BAD -No pre-mixing only counts for Hoover's own cleaning products -Small-ish tank capacity only enough for small rooms THE DETAILS Hoover's big marketing tag on their SmartWash line is that it's carpet cleaning just as easy as vacuuming. And for the most part that's true. You don't need to mess with any settings. You don't have to manually switch between modes. When the wheels spin forward, it goes into cleaning mode. When they spin back, the water jets shut off and the vacuum kicks in to suck up the dirty cleaning solution. The SmartWash can also be put into vacuum only mode for sucking up as much cleaning solution as you can to speed in carpet drying. Setup and prep work for cleaning your carpet is also easy as you fill separate water and cleaning solution tanks so you don't have to do any pre-mixing ( so long as you use Hoover's own cleaners, but that's par for the course for these products ). The main handle also detaches to make a battery-powered pre-cleaner sprayer. For cleaning stairs or furniture, the SmartWash comes with a long eight-foot hose and a separate cleaning head with silicone scrubbing bristles. What's better is you get a nice bag to hold these accessories, and the bag is designed to hang from a standard closet rod, like a coat hanger. I find this much better than a regular bag or a plastic bracket that has to be mounted to a wall. Cleaning performance is good, but of course will vary depending on your carpet/furniture and what kind of dirt and stains you're trying to clean up. It pulled up a lot of dirt from my carpet that had accumulated over the years. I can't guarantee it will take wine stains out of your luxury pile. The cleaning solution that comes with the cleaner does leave an after-smell, but it clears out in a day or two so it's not a big deal. Hoover does market this as a carpet cleaner for those who have pets, and the sample cleaning solution that comes with it is supposed to special for eliminating "pet smell" ( let's be honest, we're talking pet pee and poop ). And any parent knows the stains and dirt you get from small children is just as bad as you get from pets. There's not a lot of bad to say about the SmartWash. It's simple to use and it does what it says it does. It doesn't wow me, but it doesn't let me down. Yes, you could say $300 isn't cheap, but it's perfectly reasonable. It doesn't clean as well as professional equipment, but it's also something you can afford to use more often so you don't need to pay for frequent professional cleanings. I would like a larger water tank so it could do a larger room in one go ( I could do a full 12x12 room with it, but not much more ). However, I do understand that a larger tank would also make it much heavier to carry up and down stairs when it's fully loaded. It's already about 20 lbs when empty. Just because I can carry a 40 lbs carpet cleaner around doesn't mean everyone can.

Perfect for keeping up with our 3 Corgi's!

Unfortunately our 3 dogs arent angels when it comes to doing the deeds where they are suppose to. We have 3 dogs. One is a full blooded Corgi, and 2 Chihuahua Corgi mix. None were trained when we got them to go outside properly. They have full access to our backyard via doggie doors that do get used. But inevitably they will mess up pretty much daily between the 3. So we have needed something to combat that and we found it here with the Hoover Smartwash Pet Complete Automatic Carpet Cleaner. In the box you get the carpet cleaner with tanks, removable wand, pet tool, an 8 foot accessory hose, storage bag, and 2 bottles of cleaner stain solution. One bottle is a trial size of OXY spot chaser for pretreating. The other was a trial bottle of the Deep clean neutralize. Set up was very simple and all the parts snap together easily. Then depending on what you want to do (clean or pretreat stains) you just fill the tank with warm water, then fill the solution tank with solution. For us there were several stains we wanted to pretreat before cleaning. This was very easy to do with the cleaner and the included OXY pretreat solution and wand. After that it was onto to a full deep cleaning using the deep clean formula. Just a word of warning this is not a regular vacuum and its necessary to fully vacuum the floor prior to any cleaning to keep it running correctly. So after a full vacuum of all our carpets it was onto cleaning. This is very easy and doesnt require a lot of work. Push to clean, pull to dry. Couldnt be easier. And along with the pretreating of some trouble spots I was amazed at how good this thing works. No more needing to rent machines, or hire expensive cleaners to come out to clean our carpets. Especially during this time of the virus and social distancing. The carpets not only looked so much better, but the smell was gone also. Unfortunately you eventually get use to stinky carpets and dont really notice it until you either leave the house for awhile, or after it gets cleaned well and you notice the difference. Maintance on this is fairly easy as well. After use its recommended to remove all the excess fluids so it wont leak all over the place. And this will also just keep it in better shape. Its simple to remove the nozzle to rinse it as well. Just releases and then rinse it sink. Same goes for the brushes. Just remove and rinse. If you do all these as well as making sure its dry before storing it it should be good to go and ready the next unfortunately inevitable time you need it. So to summarize I am very happy with the Hoover Smartwash system. Its very affordable, works great, and pays for itself after a few washes vs. hiring someone to do it. If you have pets and carpet this is a great way to maintain your houses cleanliness.
