Its well worth buying we use at least once a week on our carpet which is really light, we have two boys and a dog enough said. I like the sep cont. for cleaner so u don't waste any u can easily dump the clean water once it gets cold. It sucks up alot of water so your carpets dry quickly.

with the dyson pet vac. i thought my carpets were clean till i bought this. it removed all of the pet stains and smells some pet stains were there for years and still easily came up!!!! dried VERY fast less then an hr. the produce does not feel very secure so i would def. buy the 4 year war. for $40. it will probably come in good use! its an amazing product!

As a family of klutzes with two dogs in a large fully-carpeted house, we constantly have spills and Georgia red clay mud tracking into the house. I read many online reviews from several sources before buying This carpet cleaner pays for itself in one whole-house carpet cleaning. It cleans even deep stains (spilled pop) completely. As with any piece of equipent with lots of moving parts, you hve to properly maintain it - and it will continue to work perfectly. The only negative thing I hae to say is the "SteamVac" name is a misnomer because it doesn't heat the water, you simply add hot tap water to it along with the appropriate carpet cleaning liquid.

This thing does a great job of getting the dirt out of the carpet. I like the two tank system and it is very easy to fill the soap canister. I did rinse the carpet after using soap and I could not believe what came up just with clean water. In a matter of minutes the carpet was dry. I'm very impressed in how it cleaned.

Bought it to replace our old hoover steamvac from the 90's and this one was a lot easier to use, lightweight compared to the older models and the rinse and wash features makes it easier and faster to clean the carpet. The only thing I didnt like is the hand held does not continually spray so I have to keep pressing it other than that it works really well!

Today one of my puppies ears was cut by another one of my dogs. The puppie is just fine but before we could help her she ran all over our fabric couch. Blood was everywhere. It took a few passes but we were able to get all the blood stains out of the couch in an hour. The only thing I don't like about the unit is that they warn a lot about using other detergents. As long as its not foamy or sudsy you can use it. I use Tide H.E. cold water as a pre-treater in small amounts and it really helps get the worst stains up.

Detergent started leaking before I even powered the thing on. Guess my tank wasn't secure. After second attempt no leakage. Improve the hose storage so that it doesn't dangle. I have enought S*** hanging around my place to find a suitable place to store the hose other than on the Cleaner where its supposed to be.

I am still cleaning the carpets but needed to add my review. My carpets were so dirty from having 4 dogs and 2 cats running all around the house. Those accident spots from the puppy come right up. I am very impressed with this cleaner!

I had been using a Bissell on my off-white carpets, but while cleaning with that 2 year old machine a couple of weeks ago, it started smoking. Immediately ordered this one from Best Buy. Soooo glad I did! Had to try it, even though I had just "cleaned" the carpets. I went over the areas I had cleaned 2 weeks ago....and was surprised at how much more dirt was in the used water tank! The best part was when I went to dump and rinse the unit. Much simpler and rinsed clean without having to take so much apart. Good job, Hoover! Only slightly disappointed that the edge cleaning tool that is illustrated in the manual is optional and was not included. Will be looking to purchase one seperately now that I know the machine has that option.

One of the best Items I have bought online. It removes residues and leave your carpet as soft, clean and close to new in appearance as you have never imagined !

love this product. i have 4 dogs and 2 kids and they track in mud and everything. the steam vac is easy to use and for the first week i used it everyday.!!!

I have owned a lot of Carpet cleaners in my day, the main gripe they leave too much water behind and the Carpets take forever to dry..... NOT WITH THIS HOOVER..... Great suction, You won't be disappointed. The only thing I don't like is the way the accessory hose hangs in the way on the tool holder. But the over all performance so far is great... Now I hope the machine lasts longer then other machines I have had... only time will tell.

I love it. It help me out clean up the carpet where my son lie down the whole day. It's good for the kids when you know the carpet is cleaned.

The unit cleans well, rinses and extracts the water..... My carpet dries in a few hours. excellent for hard floors also. Well done Hoover.

This is the second steam vac I've owned. Quality seems good and it works pretty well. I really like the separate tanks for clean and dirty water. The brushes seem to work well with scrubbing the carpet. One caution, you need to empty the clean water AND detergent tanks after you use it. If it sits too long without use they will leak.

I followed the directions and had no problems using the machine, Cleaned several rooms. The brushes are OK but since are very soft they are not going to do the job of a commercial cleaning machine. It is great for pet clean ups and in between cleaning of high traffic areas.

Didn't even make it through one room before the spinners stopped working. Water leaked from every connection. The dirty water canister wouldn't make a strong seal (the canister seal for the top of the unit isn't even rubber, it's some by-product that looked like styrofoam) and lost suction due to air leakage. The hose attachment was quite cumbersome to use and it leaked as well. . . .We didn't have much luck from this model. :-(

While I will give it credit for being a good cleaner when it worked, the weak link was in the brush drive mechanism. It is a plastic stud that drives one of the brushes that are all gear shaped. In the first room I cleaned, some carpet lint built up between the brush gears and the plastic drive shaft snapped right off. The unit box also states it is a steam cleaner. The unit uses hot tap water and does not have any heating function. I returned this unit the same day and spent the extra $100 for a Bissell 9500. While the Bissell doesn't leave the carpet as dry as the Hoover did, it's much better constructed and has a heater built in so you always have hot water to dispense. The Bissell cleans much better but doesn't dry the carpet as throughly as the Hoover did, when the Hoover worked that is...

I have had 2 of these units. The first one began leaking when using the attachments right after the warranty expired. Giving them another chance as I had another less expensive unit for years that I gave away to a friend when I bough this one (big mistake) I purchases a second unit. The same problem, when using the attchemnts water leaks all over the floor from the bottom of the unit. The hand tool stopped dispensing/picking up cleaner. Then the plastic handles as well as the cleaner and re-fill unit broke. Am looking for any reviews for another brand for my next purchase. Anyone have a recommendation?
