I bought this a few months ago. So far, its been working great on my carpet. I have a high carpet and runs smoothly and maintains strong suction. I don't have any pets, but it picked up strings and fibers from the carpet. The side hose and tools were easy to use. Love the fact that you can disconnect the brush for hard floors.

This vacuum was easy to put together out of the box. All of the controls work as advertised. Suction is terrific and carpet levels are easy to adjust. The "hose only" operation is easy to use and has plenty of suction. The attachment to clean light/fan blades works perfectly. Would recommend this vacuum to anyone looking for good suction, good pick up and easy to maneuver around.

Best vacuum I've ever purchased. Like that I can turn a switch for floor or hose. Plenty of suction power. Gets my rugs super clean. Like that I can turn off the beater bar easily, nice long hose. Glad I purchased this.

I just got a new house. Had the carpets cleaned by a company. Bought this vacuum cleaner from Best Buy the first time I used it I pulled up a pile of dog hair out of the cleaned carpets. Unbelievable. This machine is awesome. I'm getting less hair every time I vacuum now but I'm still getting hair. Don't look at another vacuum get this one.

I had bought another vacuum a few days before this one and didnt care of it. It was more expensive than this one. I returned it and probably spent an hour looking at the ones at the store, reading reviews on my phone, ect and then I asked a sales person for his input and he recommended this one out of the 3 I had narrowed it down to. This was a great choice. We have a golden retriever and she sheds a lot. Our carpet is the cleanest that it has ever been. Highly recommended.

I already own 2 vacuums, both of which I really like, however, neither would work on my 9'x12' high pile area rug. The self adjusting brush rolls on each of my vacuums would quit rolling on my area rug. I purchased this vacuum specifically for this area rug. All my research pointed toward needing to purchase a super high dollar vacuum ($600+) to work on the high pile (probably 2") carpet. The salesman at Best Buy told me he thought this particular vacuum would be the best one to try before going to the extreme $ range. I'm happy to say it works! I have to set it on the highest setting and it takes A LOT of muscle to push it, but it works! I also used it on the rest of the carpet in my house (on a much lower setting) and was amazed at the dirt/sand/dust it pulled up.

Not good for pets - disappointed

Purchased the Wind Tunnel 3 High Performance Pet Bagless to replace my old bag Hoover Wind Tunnel. This does great on rugs as long as you have the floor setting to a lower number and use the beater brush (which is not recommended for 2 of my rugs). Without the beater brush, it does nothing. Terrible on hard wood floors, the dog hair just hangs on the brush and I have to pick it off and put in trash. And when emptying the container, do it outside and be prepared to take a shower afterwards. Dust goes everywhere, all of the pet hair and dust does not come out until you beat on the container or reach into it to pull the stuff out. Wish I had realized Best Buy had such a short window for returns. This would have gone back.....now it's 2 months old and headed to Goodwill. And now I have to go back with my old vacuum to get everything that this new one missed..........

Hi PetOwnder! If you find that you have to reach inside the dirt cup to completely empty it, this is an indication that the dirt cup is getting too full. On the dirt cup there's a Max Fill Line. Once the dirt reaches this line, you'll want to empty it. Hope this helps! ~Kenya, Hoover Customer Care Hoover

We needed to be able to turn off the roller, lots of wood floors, and reach high blinds and valances. Also we needed strong suction for cat hair in carpets and upholstery. This vacuum is excellent on all counts. Unfortunately I didn't notice that it does not have a motorized brush. It is a bit heavy, and on plush carpet, it is very difficult to push. We have to adjust the height higher than we'd like. My husband and I are close to & over 6', a smaller person might have trouble with this vacuum. This can clean everything you want very well, but get ready to workout your biceps! PROS: Strong suction, long reach with telescoping wand, ability to turn off rollers for bare floors, easy to empty, hepa & washable filters. CONS: Heavy, no motorized brush so it is hard to push on carpet.

I researched a significant number of types (bag/bagless - direct/indirect flow) and brands (hoover, meile, dyson, etc) prior to making this purchase. I was very concerned about suction and clean-up capability, reliability (drive belts not breaking, manufacturing style, fit, etc), warranties, others experiences/reviews, and price. Given all these criteria and my research, I was convinced I wanted a bagged unit, however they are not super available in stores. This unit - especially because of its separate suction source for each the hose and floor unit - was very high in others reviews and all my other criteria. I took a shoot as it was on sale in-store at best buy (no other store or internet source had it as low). I am blown away by this unit as it has performed beyond my expectations. The carpet and rug areas looked stunning following the first vacuuming. This unit really lifts the pile and generates a deep clean. Our old vacuum that was replaced, had just been used the day before - it was evidently missing a lot. The unit is designed very well - the dirt canister removes and re-installs easily - it also empties from the bottom with little mess. Very pleased with purchase and a unit that really cleans!!!

The vacuuming of carpets and wood floors is good. The rotating brush has a lot of what I will call bouncing noise. It sounds like it's going to fall apart. The attachments are junk. The extension tube is extendable but is still very short when fully extended. You rotate the two halves to lock it into position but it still slips easily. You get a triangle shape brush that can "latch" in different angles. The latch is too weak and changes position if you put the tiniest amount of pressure on it. It also just pushes away what you are trying to vacuum up. Its worthless. You also have to rotate a dial down near the bottom of the vacuum to switch from floor to tube. Very inconvenient location plus I dont know how many times I've forgotten to rotate it back to floor. Very disappointed with this purchase and would never recommend purchasing it.

I bought this vacuum about a month ago when we installed new carpets. I've had Bissell vacuums for years, but this Hoover had the ability to turn off brush bar for the Berber carpet. We also have pets, and pet hair. The suction is so strong the vacuum just locks down on the carpet, making it a major workout just to push it around. . even on the highest setting on low pile carpets. I totally hate this vacuum. Unless I'm doing something wrong, I would not recommend this vacuum to anyone. Ironically, it seems to be unable to pick up the downy pet hair the dogs leave on the carpet when shedding. You'd think with the incredible suction it could handle that. A waste of money for me. After owning it for 4-5 weeks I doubt Best Buy would take it back. I'm going back to Bissell.

I purchased this vacuum to replace a Shark Rotator Pro. First thing you'll notice is it's a heavy vac. This vacuum excells at open area cleaning. When the carpet height is adjusted properly, the vac pushes easily & has excellent suction & cleans thoroughly. The bottom brush does not need to be cleaned off when your done! The design of this brush is great ( and we have, 2 dogs, 4 cats, 1 chinchilla, and 4 big birds!). Now, the down side. When using the tools, the design could be better. You must turn a knob to switch from floor to wand and tool design is fair. Bottom line, for just normal vacuuming it's a fantastic machine. You will prolly never have to clean the bottom brush (great design). But if you'll do alot of (attachment) vacuuming or don't want a big heavy vac, look elsewhere.

I like the convenience of the long, extended power cord. It would be nice if the power cord was retractable. The vacuum cleaner does take some effort to maneuver around the carpet. When you want to use the hose (for attachments), you have to change the dial located on the lower part of the vacuum. The attachments are more of an inconvenience. Maybe I have a defective product, the extension attachment will not stay extended regardless of which way it is turned. The brush is flimsy, making it difficult to use w/out it flipping backwards. The more narrow tipped attachment is a piece of short plastic. The handheld rolling brush is ok when it isn't interrupted and stops. Hoover used to make a great vacuum cleaner. I'm not sure why the quality and ease of use has become more cumbersome. Maybe Hoover should consider finding different product testers. More specifically, I'm volunteering. . please let me know the requirements to support. I don't recommend this vacuum cleaner for anyone. The attachments are frustrating bc the extra effort required to use them. Hoover dropped the ball. The one star is simply bc the long, extended power chord.

I bought this to replace a Bissell that quit working. I couldn't find the Bissell model I previously had and loved so I bought this one in a hurry thinking it was similar. I was wrong. Although the suction is really good and the cord length is very long which is a huge plus, the two things I noticed as soon as I used it the first time was it was extremely heavy and extremely hard to push. I adjusted the carpet height which made it somewhat easier but still hard to push. I then realized this one wasn't self propelled. I also mistakenly assumed the canister lifted off so I could do stairs. The canister comes out, but only because it's bagless. I found the canister hard to get in and out and take apart and clean. I also don't like the fact that I have to stop and turn a dial to change from upright to the tools. When vacuuming under tables, it won't lie completely flat like my Bissell did so ended up crawling under the tables and using the hand tools. I have several large area rugs which it seemed to clean very well but the smaller ones I had a hard time cleaning because the suction pulled them up. I tried to adjust the rug height so it wouldn't pull them up when I vacuumed but just couldn't make it work. On my last attempt, my rug got suctioned up and I ended up with a hole in my rug! The power tools are OK but I don't find the small rotating brush attachment very useful. I thought perhaps it would be good for stairs but again, because the canister doesn't lift off, it wasn't of use at all. I used it on my furniture for cat hair but found simply using the wand attachment worked best. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed with this product.
