Customers love the comfort and quality of the Split Pad Compact for Nintendo Switch, praising its improved grip and more compact size compared to other controllers. However, some users point out the lack of rumble and wireless functionality as significant drawbacks. While some experienced issues with stick drift, many appreciate the enhanced feel and control in handheld mode.

Better build quality then the Split pad Pro and great thumb sticks but I wish they made this controller in the same transparent Black that the pro controller has

I wish it had some type of warning that it is not Bluetooth compatible. Bought it for my kids to have extra remotes not knowing this is not remotes that can be used off the console. Only way to use them is connected to the console only.

Love these as a nice addon for the Switch. Much more comfortable than the standard joycons. Feels like a good quality and the buttons are solid which is a nice upgrade from the Split Pad Pro that feels mushy.
My only gripe is how in the world does Hori still not have rumble? I wanted to buy the HORI Steam controller as well but decided not to because no rumble. Come on HOR, give us rumble please!

These are second and latest versions. Thumbsticks are great but notice slight delay in movement with multiple games. First version did not have this problem. Overall comfort is good, love how it changes the look when docked. Overall great controller, buttons have good bounce to them, dpad is good as well. No issues with the dpad or buttons. Great buy, definitely know that these are not wireless controls and only worked as attached. So far these are my preferred controllers when playing the switch. Worth it when they go on sale.

Must-have for handheld Switch gamers

I love the Hori Split Pad Compact's smaller form factor compared to the Pro (as well as how it's flush with the Switch's screen). If you love the Nintendo Switch Lite's mushy face buttons, you'll love the ones on the Compact. The analog sticks are larger than on joy-cons but not quite as large as on PS/Xbox controllers. The rear back buttons work but are limited to mapping to a button on the same side (left or right). Unfortunately, there's no rumble/gyro/amiibo support either so if those features are dealbreakers for you, then you should look elsewhere. Overall, the Hori Split Pad Compact is a must-have for handheld Switch gamers.

I bought these for my switch oled. The buttons feel great, the wider controller fits better in my hand and the curves on the back make it more comfortable to hold while handheld! Only issues is.. it wont fit on the switch if you have a casing or anything on the switch. I have a clear case around my switch to help protect the design (Pokemon Oled switch) but I have to take the clear casing off to fit the joycons. So great for those who dont have a case on the switch, if you do, none of the other wider joycons will work, only the thinner ones

These are a bit bigger than the standard joycons. The extra real estate makes it more comfortable to olay in handheld mode. Wxtar back buttons on each are another plus downside being there is no rumble or gyro

Cant compare it to its previous, bulkier counterpart but compared to playing with the stock joycons, makes it a dream playing on handheld mode. Cant complain about it not having vibration since that kills the battery life and personally find it annoying. No gyro capability but never playing a game where i would of of had a “better” experience if i did have it. Custm back paddles are a bit lacking due to it customizable to the side its on. Over solid set up and would buy again if i broke it somehow ehich i dont see happening

This is one of the best add on for the Nintendo Switch accessories I’ve bought I had ordered others on amazon but not the hori and the one on amazon stopped working after a few weeks or I get really bad stick drift. This one I bought from Best Buy, I had this for a year now I don’t have that problem from the amazon brand or third party brand

Honestly I enjoy the Switch, but usually handheld mode can be a little underwhelming while using the stock joy-cons. This set from Hori solves my issue with handheld play!
These happen to be just the right size, and the contour helps them feel like I'm using an actual controller. I don't notice any rattle on the rails either, so that's a plus. The Gengar theme is icing on the cake.
I only have two gripes with these, but both are minor. First off, these won't work when detached from the console, but I don't mind since I have other controllers to use when I want to play wirelessly. Second is that I can't seem to properly set up the reassign feature, but I would chalk that up to not reading the instructions...
All in all, I love this set. I'd recommend this in a heartbeat to anyone that wants to fully appreciate all play modes on the Switch but feel like joy-cons are too small.

Love the design on the controller and it feels nice to hold, however my only complaint is that sometimes after putting my switch on sleep mode and turning it back on the controller will drift until I restart my switch. This has never happened with my normal joycons. Other than that minor annoyance, it works great and looks awesome.

Great for handheld mode. I love the original joy cons, but they are uncomfortable for long play in handheld mode. I debated getting these as I never got "not" Nintendo joy cons. But I am so glad I bought them. These are great for just sitting on the sofa or a trip. No rumble, but you don't always need that for games. The trade-off is worth the comfort.
