Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the Split Pad Pro Handheld Controller for Nintendo Switch due to its comfortable design, suitable size for various hand sizes, and high-quality build. Users appreciate the enhanced grip, great feel, lightweight yet sturdy construction, and responsive buttons. However, some customers have expressed concerns about the lack of rumble and vibration features, the inability to use the controller wirelessly, and potential battery drain. While some are not concerned about drift, it is still worth noting.

I bought this for myself, dad, for when I want to steal the switch from the kids. Gives you the old school feeling with everything in your hands. The controls are setup with comfort in mind for long term play.

I dont play my Nintendo switch off the dock much as the joycons it comes with are not comfortable to use with my big hands and the joycons’ joysticks are really small so it makes it awkward to control, but the hori completely fixes all those problems. They fit my hands and the joysticks are the usual size youd find on most controllers . Would definitely recommend.

Great split controller for the switch

Great split controller for Nintendo switch overall. Good overall construction quality. Perfect for handheld mode. If you want all the normal features from a Nintendo product get a pro controller or keep looking for different grips. Pros: grips are powered by console battery power. No need to charge grips. Very comfortable and good control response. Switch still do labor with grips installed. Reasonable price for what you get. Cons: lacks vibration and motion control. Haven’t been able to find a protective case for my switch that is compatible with these grips but that’s ok.

This controller is great for handheld gaming only. Just know this will NOT work wirelessly. If you intend to play on the go, this is the best and most comfortable for just that! Everything is very responsive and theres no ghosting. I used this to finish Zelda TOTK with 0 cramping after long sessions… i chose this over the compact version because my hands are a bit bigger.

The Hori Split Pad Pro makes the handheld experience much better by giving you a proper controller. It is comfortable for long sessions and fits in the docking station without needing to detach. The one drawback is it does not support rumble or gyro controls, so if those are necessary for you, this will not be the controller for you. I do not need rumble/gyro, so I love it.

The Split pad feels great for extended play sessions — I actually prefer them over the joycons because of my larger hands, but the lack of HD rumble is my main issue with them. That said, it's an issue with the way Nintendo licenses 3rd party controllers (thus the restriction on rumble and/or gyro controls on the Split Pad Pro), so it doesn't detract from my overall rating for the product itself. If you just want to play in handheld mode with greater overall comfort along with some nice

I love this controller very sturdy and perfect handles. Bulky but good for gamers with big hands and likes the feel of a regular controller.

Not bad for the price if its on sale. Just sucks there is no amiibo or rumble support while there are others on the market that do.

The controller is large enough that my hands are comfortable when operating the sticks. There are turbo buttons that you can assign on each controller, but they aren’t intuitive to use. The plastic material and buttons feel sturdy and durable. It’s definitely worth the upgrade if you are tired of the default joycons cramping your hands.

    Ultimate handheld comfort

This controller is WAY more comfortable than any other handheld solution. I also own the Satisfye grip, and while that is an improvement over the bare joy cons, the split pad pro is nearly as comfortable as the pro controller. On top of it being the most comfortable, the analog sticks are way better than those on the joy cons. The extra buttons are a nice addition, but I don't really ever use them. You don't get motion controls or rumble, but I feel like the comfort level outweighs those negatives. This controller is absolutely worth the $50 I spent on them.

Some nice aspects, a lot of caveats for the price

Great d-pad. Good analog sticks. Good face buttons. Decent grip design - it doesn't feel as comfortable as something like the Satisfye grip, but it's better than just the joy-cons. It does make the unit *very* long. No rumble, and no wireless. Biggest disappointment are the back buttons: they can only be programmed to a corresponding button on each half. That makes the left one pretty useless for a lot of use cases.

The only drawback to using these controllers is that you cannot wake the switch with these like you can with the joy cons. You have to press the power button at the top of the switch to wake it first. Other than that, it’s very, very worth the money. Turbo buttons work as they should. All buttons are responsive. Fits well in the hand. 100% recommend.

These might not seem like much for the price at first glance, but if you are a big handheld switch gamer these are a must imo. Much better handle while playing, like you have a controller in your palms type of feeling with everything being upgraded to follow that feeling. Joystick movement, buttons pop, both bumpers and triggers improved as well as button mapping abilities with additional triggers on the back. Highly recommend for handheld switch gaming.

Let’s face it, joy-cons aren’t great. When playing docked, the go-to is the Pro Controller. But what about when playing on-the-go? The Split Pad Pro is essentially the handheld equivalent. While they may appear to look heavier, they’re actually quite lightweight. While gyro, HD rumble, and amiibo scanning are missing features, these provide comfort and quality to the handheld experience that are very much absent with the standard joy-con. Oh yeah, let’s not forget these offer turbo buttons!
