This game is amazing in all ways possible story wise, graphics, controls, characters, gameplay, it has it all.

I picked up Horizon: Zero Dawn because of all the hype circulating around the Internet, and I can tell you without hesitation every bit of praise this game has received is true. The combat is innovative and fun, the controls are tight, the graphics are fantastic, and the storyline is both unique and engrossing.

Horizon: Zero Dawn was helmed by the Killzone developer Guerilla Games. Their Killzone franchise was amazing, but it was definitely time for something new. I see Horizon Zero Dawn getting game of the year for 2017. It has hours and hours of action packed fun. The open world layout is enormous and there is little to no load times. The only load times you will see are fast traveling, booting up the game, and restarting at a checkpoint/camp fire after dying. The voice acting and storyline feels so engaging. It makes me want to hear what every character in the game has to say. The side quests and errands also have a strong story element just like the main story line. The fight/sneak mechanics force you to think up an attack strategy for every enemy encounter. The massive amount of dialogue choices you can choose from for the main character Aloy helps to show more human emotion and involves more feeling of interaction with NPCs. This is a must play and must own video game. Prepare yourself for hours and hours of phenomenal nonstop game play. It's a game that's hard to put down.

Huge open world. Compelling story. Excellent gameplay. Beautiful graphics. So much to love about this game!

This game is by far one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. The story line is amazing and the graphics are great. The voice acting at some times falls flat, but the way that the game looks makes up for it. The battles are great and can sometimes be very daunting, but are a lot of fun. A+ all the way.

This game is a technical marvel, I have no idea how this game can look so good and still have a stable framerate, but the result is truly stunning. Combat is fast and chaotic, story is deep and interesting with a believable world to explore.

I was a little late coming to this party, but I'm glad I came around. HZD brings together amazing gameplay, gorgeous visuals, and a compelling, mature story. From the brief intro video, along with the hints at combat, stealth, and strategy to come, to the driving storyline, and ultimately, to the epic final battle, HZD kept me glued to my PS4 from start to finish. It was one of those games that left me sleep deprived because I wanted to complete "just one more mission." Although there are some filler "fetch" side quests to keep you busy, the main quest is always there to drive things forward. While is possible to acquire every skill, there's plenty of variety in the path depending on play style. If there's one complaint I have, and it's a very minor one, the quality of the voice acting varies greatly. Some of it (most of it) is quite excellent. There were some dialogs that were a bit jarring because the acting just wasn't that great. If you are into story driven open world games, this should be your next purchase.

This game is gorgeous and plays very well. It is extremely fun and the story is very engaging. However there are certain things that are not on par with the the rest of the great game such as voice acting of secondary characters, which varies from hilariously bad to just plain awful. Another distracting thing is the game's climbing mechanism. The character just climbs for you. You just have to hold the up button; there is no jumping from ledge to ledge or finding the right spot to jump. It is a minor thing but it is annoying that a game element that could have been fun is just removed.

This game is absolutely astonishing! It has been a while since i have found myself so immersed in another world, caring about the characters and this world that they inhabit. The gameplay is smooth and responsive, making it a joy to explore this open world. I will admit that the game isn't without faults (as no game is without one or two) but that didn't hinder any enjoyment found in this title. Well worth the price of admission!

There have been some amazing games come out this year (2017). Out of all the games to come out on the PS4 though, this is by far the best. It is a new IP with an amazing story. Post-apocalyptic worlds have been overdone but typically with zombies, which this game does not have zombies. The robots you fight are amazing, and the story is awesome. If you own a PS4, buy this game over any other options. You will not regret it.

I bought this for only $20 at the early Black Friday sale for Christmas for my roommate - gave it to him early and he has already logged 33 hours of play time - wow - he's also just 34% of the way through because he loves it so much, he's been doing every side mission before he really tackles the story! Gorgeous graphics, great story line, obviously it's one of the games of the year - 33 hours and he says it stays fresh...

One of the best games I've ever played and I've played a lot of them. Love the story and its good enough they should make a movie. I think the number of moves is lacking is my only criticism especially comparing to something like Shadow of Mordor. I had hoped for a bit more variety but wow the story and the land you explore just keeps pulling you in. Loads of fun and with the DLC now out will be that much better!

A great game with an interesting story, great graphics, and most importantly great game play. I'm not big on traditional RPG games but an action oriented title like this is very interesting to me. Prepare to sink many hours into this one.

Playing this game is a reminder of how much care can be put into one video game. The same way people have become used to the, "summer blockbuster" we too now have this category of video game. Actually considering that Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mass Effect 3 are also out this month I'd say we have multiple blockbusters competing at this time. That all being said Horizon has amazing graphics, interesting and intriguing story, solid game-play, exciting combat and very well defined role playing mechanics. You will recognize all of the execution from all of your favorite Adventure RPG's of the past. Uncharted, Skyrim and Tomb Raider have lent their greatness to this title. I cannot claim to have beaten the title yet; its huge. I'm enjoying every minute of playing this in bite sized chunks each night. You can jump in, get a fill of pure action and story for a half hour to an hour and then save. I will be extremely sad when this game is over.

First I was very skeptical about this game, a future where machines are all over and humanity is back to a primitive state. I decided to rent this from a redbox before buying it and only took about an hour to decide to return it and pick it up the next morning. The game has amazing graphics and plays at a native 4k at 30fps with HDR if you have the right tv and a PS4 pro. The controls are nice and the game has a nice difficulty to it where a simple small machine like a watcher you can down in one shot where a giant like a thunderjaw takes a bit of planning and careful decision making. Overall the game is awesome with beautiful graphics and game play mechanics and I hope they make another one because you will be hooked on it and wanting more.

I've only put around 10 hours into the game (Zelda is keeping me busy), but those 10 hours have been a joy. The story, combat, world, and graphics are fantastic. I run on a standard PS4 and 1080 TV. I can't wait to see what this looks like on a 4K HDR screen with the PS4 Pro.

Horizon is a great game and definitely better than I thought it would be. It takes a few "stale" mechanics from other open world games and integrates them into the world to where they feel natural and fun, instead of like your typical open world chore work. The combat is fun and takes time to master. The story is mysterious and keeps you engaged throughout. Definite contender for game of the year.

This is one of those games that makes you proud to be a PS4 owner. (it's exclusive) Not only does it take full advantage of the system's power, but it plays great. If you have a PS4 Pro it looks even more amazing. Gameplay is open world. You can follow main quest or do plenty of side quest. Side quest do help in upgrading your character. The main story is great though and worth following through.

HZD has amazing graphics and an amazing story, perfect for all fans of RPG games.
