This thing is nice! Lots of lights everywhere, sound is ok! We use it inside the house 99% of the time. It feels solid and secure, after a month of playing around with it, 1-2 hours of total usage time, I can say it’s fun! I personally only use it for 5-10min at the most every other day, mainly because I usually end up on the floor and I’m sore the next day, it takes practice! My 11yo daughter is a pro! She’s over it after 5min on it and I haven’t seen her fall, fingers crossed! The app works ok, able to control lights and sound, you can see speed and total mileage. The battery last a long time, we haven’t had to charge it, enjoy and be safe!

This was a Christmas present for the family. We actually bought two. Everyone was able to use this Hoverboard ranging from age 4-42 years. We couldn’t believe all the cousins could master this new skill. The kids made it look so easy. We loved how it was Bluetooth enabled too and listened to our favorite songs.

I’ve bought many of these as I have rough kids, but this thing stands the test of time and my boys LOVEEEE it. My autistic son really enjoys coming home from school and riding this around and around while simultaneously on his phone listening to music. He actually crouches down when driving it instead of standing. It’s very soothing for his sensory needs and has become part of his daily routine for over a year now. It’s safe enough that it took him months to learn it and get comfortable with it. Now he flies on it just like my youngest son does! The 9mph speed is excellent and I’m very comfortable with my boys riding this inside and outside and I plan to buy more soon because our family will be expanding by the grace of god!

We had originally purchased the HOVER-1 Superfly, for my son for Christmas. It stopped working after the 1st day so we returned it for this one. So glad we did. Little more expensive but definitely worth it! Lots of lights, super cool at night!

Perfect hoverboard for my 4 year old :). He loves this thing. It must be easy to use because He rides it like he’s been doing it forever lol. I highly recommend this for kiddos. I was so nervous getting this for him but he took to it with ease and always wants to use it. This is a wonderful gift for children.

One of the wheels just randomly stopped like it is locked. My daughter has only owned this hoverboard since the end of May and only rides it in the house on hardwood floors. I contacted the company and they basically told me they don’t care that it is somehow our fault and we need to figure out why its not working… horrible customer service. For a brand new board my oldest got this past Christmas straight out of the box it just didn’t work at all! I contacted the company regarding the warranty and they told me they’re not even processing warranty claims at the time because they were too busy and to take it back to the store i bought it from. So basically all these boards are being returned and what put back on the shelf??? Will never purchase this brand again!

This is a really cool looking hoverboard/scooter. This is my first one so it definitely takes some time getting used to. To start off, I've never owned one of these before so this is all new to me. It is a bit scary trying to use one of these for the first time. I'd highly recommend doing so on grass or at a park or something. You WILL fall down so just be prepared for that. This scooter has a 7MPH top speed which is quite speedy; especially for the first time user. The scooter seems pretty well built. It's very solid and just feels beefy. The lights on this scooter really pop. It's definitely an eye catcher while using this scooter. There is a companion app for this scooter where you can adjust the colors/lights so that's a neat little feature. This is a really cool little mode of transport. For new timers, this will definitely take some time getting used to. Once you do, it can be really fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7zLOZE_68Y&feature=youtu.be

Adults forget about your kids, this is for you! I’ve had a blast getting around my neighborhood and sidewalks nearby. I’ll be honest and say I haven’t made it to more populated areas in the city yet but I will. Funny story, I went to get the mail on my Astro Board and a person about my age asked if she could try it! This is definitely adult worthy and worth every second of fun. The LED lights are just as vibrant in real life as in the pictures on the box. The added Bluetooth speaker is super quirky and fun. I refuse to ride around blaring my music but let’s just say I might when no one is watching! Word of caution! Make sure you practice in a safe area because my first day on it I nearly collided into a curb. So I’d suggest a helmet. The self-balancing feature is crazy and I’m still astonished that technology has come this far. I consider this to be our decade’s version of the rollerblade or roller skate! Side note, I thought the speed was to slow before I tried it but now I actually think it’s just perfect. The application let’s you choose a profile from beginner to advance so you should definitely pay attention to those. I’m not a kid but I can say I’m the cool one on the block! :)

Feature rich and fun to ride

No broken hips yet… This hoverboard is a great rideable that (almost) my whole family has enjoyed so far. It has a lot of features and is a lot of fun to ride and to watch people ride...and almost fall. So far the Astro seems pretty durable. It is heavy, which to me, means it is well built. I did crack the plastic on the front of it when I leaned too far forward and my sock slipped off and it hit my foot. I know, you’re supposed to wear shoes when you ride it but I like to live dangerously… Other than that it is holding up well. This is my first hoverboard and I have been impressed. The ride is smooth and well balanced. I felt pretty wobbly at first, but I picked it up quick enough. My kids pretty much hopped right on and went full speed, not that I was surprised. We have mainly used it inside, I know I need to get more confident with it before I venture outside. The Astro has a ton of LED lights on it. They are all over it! On the footpads, on the ends, even inside the wheels. It is very bright! The lights flash in patterns, I believe you can even sync them to your music. Yes, your music. Like many bluetooth devices (even some light bulbs and shower heads) the Astro has bluetooth speakers built in. Now these speakers are not going to blow you away with the sound quality nor shake the house with bass but it is a cool feature to have. The Astro does connect to the Hover-1 app as well. I haven’t used the app too much. For me I am more interested in the ride than the extras but I believe you can choose the colors and patterns of the LED lights and such with it. Overall it is a blast for me and my kids. My wife is the lone hold-out in the family. Some days it runs almost entirely until the battery is dead. I probably would have been fine with one that wasn’t so feature rich but it’s nice to have the extras. One downside, a full charge takes 5 hours, instructions say not to let it stay on the charger for more than 5 hours. I assume this is to prevent fires but seems like it could have a circuit to stop charging when it reaches full charge. Could be easy to forget to unplug it after 5 hours of charging.

A fun way to get around

I’ve always enjoyed fun ways to get around. When I was younger, I used to skateboard and use roller blades and as I’ve gotten older, I have really liked electric scooters and bicycles. In fact, the only personal mobility vehicle I haven’t really gotten into has been the hoverboard. Hoverboards became popular a few years ago and were ‘the’ thing to get for Christmas. Unfortunately, there were some faulty ones out there that ended up overheating and subsequently catching fire. I believe the manufacturers learned from their mistakes though because since that time, there have been far fewer reports of malfunctioning hoverboards. My daughter got one a couple of years ago when we traveled to Florida and she loves it. She will ride around the halls of our house with it instead of walking from room to room. Because of that experience, we decided to get this Hover 1 Astro hoverboard as an upgrade. The hoverboard comes in a large box and let’s face it -- this thing is heavy. Even though it’s ‘portable’, it still weighs almost 19 pounds. That’s an improvement over my daughter’s original hoverboard, which was 24 pounds. The vehicle has 6.5 inch wheels which are slightly smaller than our other board, which has 8-inch wheels. I haven’t found that this hinders the movement of the board, too much though. It still provides a smooth ride no matter what surface you are riding on. The one thing that is important to remember with this or any hoverboard is patience. It takes time and effort to balance and learn how to move properly on the board to get the most out of your experience. I recommend starting by riding the board down a hallway so that you can position yourself correctly on the board and be able to hold yourself in place at the same time using the walls around you. This hoverboard can connect to an app, which is a nice addition to the experience. It allows you to customize your experience and do things like change colors on the board, track your speed, and battery life. One really cool feature of this particular board is its built-in Bluetooth speaker. You have the option to connect your phone to the speaker in the hoverboard and then listen to music through the board while you ride. Some people may not like this feature, but I thought it was pretty cool. The biggest draw to me with this new hoverboard is its lighting effects. My daughter’s hoverboard had lights on the back of it, while this one has lights on the board where you stand as well as around the base. If you were riding it at night, there is no way that someone wouldn’t see you coming down the street. While there are always risks to using a personal vehicle like this, this hoverboard has brought a lot of fun to our family and as long as you are cautious and careful about where you ride and your surroundings, it can be a really excellent option for entertainment.

Okay..First thing first, you have to charge it. The initial charge only took about four hours. After the four hours of charging, it was ready to go. I downloaded the app while it was charging and was able to set it up on my phone. It was three user levels, from Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert. After it was charged, my daughter was on it...After less than three minutes of me assisting her, she was zipping around the house. Now she uses it to pick up her toys and stuff around the house. It's hours of fun. She charges it at night and plays on it most of the day. It does great on carpet to hard floors, and area rugs. Overall I'm super impressed. The lighting is very bright. The music level is fairly loud and makes the experience that much better.

Grandpa spoils grandchildren. First off wear a helmet for safety. Out of the box it took 2 hours until full charge when at full charge the wall plug charger lit green. Downloaded the play store app to Samsung S20+ and to Samsung S10+ bluetooth and speaker paired quickly no problems. Grandkids love the LED set to strobe with app. I like being able to read battery condition with phone app and being able to set shutdown time with app. In house grandkids took control and manoeuvred foot controls forward, backward and around corners effortlessly like pros. Their still working with music from speaker but all in all the phone app does work despite what others say take your time and be patient. Outside in driveway the kids mastered full speed with no problem. Don't recommend full speed in house though.

My son absolutely loves this hoverboard! He is much better at balancing than I am, but we all had a great time trying it out, and it is actually easier than it looks. The speakers companion app and lights make this very entertaining and customizable. The unit also feels sturdy and well built. It actually is a bit heavier than I had imagined too. The battery life is surprisingly good, and you can get a lot of use out of it on just one charge. One small warming is that the depth of the foot pedals is pretty narrow, but then again I am a larger guy and this is only made for those weighing less than 220lbs. All in all, for the price, this hoverboard is a great gift for an kids or teens.

I had a early "hover" board a few years back; and I can tell you this it totally different. As soon as you take this out of the box it oozes quality, a first class build. As soon as you turn on there is a real WOW factor. As soon as you put some weight on it, is exhibits it's power. The clear wheels are so neat, yet they still have real gripping power, probably made from solid silicon, their led lighting is almost magical. Now one of most appreciated features is the app that interfaces with the Hover-1, once connected via BT it provides 2 BT connections, one to stream music to it's BT speakers, the other for monitoring/control of the Hover-1. The Hover-1 has 3 user modes, Beginner, Intermediate and Expert. Until you get a few houre of "hang time" under your belt, stick to beginner, it limits the top speed and the max acceleration rate. Event on beginner this board can take off on you. Shifting your your weight forward on the right side cause the right side wheel to move forward; same for the left, balance both right and left you move straight, more weight to right you turn to the left, more weight to the left you turn to the left. the wide foot pads require you to properly place your feet, but after about 3-5 minutes of practice you'll get the hang of it (or give up - unlikely). There is definitely a learners curve. (similar to learning to flying a drone - except with the Hover-1 board you have a real personal interest in not crashing). The manual suggests always using it with a helmet, and anywhere you don't have a perfectly smooth surface, I'd agree. And if you use it indoors, pick-up any obstacles (Legos or such) before using it. My initial experience was small obstacles cause an immediate imbalance, throwing you off course quickly - Gravity+Momentum wins all the time. The BT speakers on the board are pretty awesome, with 10W power they fill a small room with loud music. Back to the app, it also has a system status display which shows all of the sensors the Hover-1 monitors, nice to know, a great safety feature, The total number of apparent leds on this board is impressive, coupling the flash to the music feature is truly mesmerizing, and the app has multiple modes to interface with the music, it can also respond to your voice. The app can also tell you how fast you moving and track your movements via the phones GPS. And with a claimed battery life of 4 hours, at 7mph you could find yourself in another neighborhood. But watch out for rocks/pebbles, any obstacle over about 1/4" will disrupt your ride! I found it took about 8h to fully recharge the battery, but after a couple hours it was back to 75%, so like most phones today, it seems to charge the first increment much faster then the last increment. Overall the the controls seem really precise and it was easily to start to learn and control. I can't wait to take this indoor basketball court to really open it up and learn more tricks (I'll have to get another to race). At first I was concerned about using it indoors, but with some practice, its really a cool people mover, that moves with precision (when under control). I kept thinking of cool places to ride this, where I'm sure it would be prohibited (like the zoo or aquarium). The instructions say it's for kids 15 and up, I'd say any 8-10 yr old, with supervision could master this device, and would love to have one. And what a cool present it would make - highly recommended for a lot of fun.
