Our 11 year-old daughter has an older/larger hoverboard that most people would probably recognize from the earlier days of the hoverboard craze. She mastered it in about 10 minutes and now manages handstands, prone trick riding, and all sorts of death-defying maneuvers that make me feel silly for continuing to fall off the darned thing every time I try to get it going more than a few feet at a time. But when her friends come over, we only have the one, so we thought we'd give the Blast a try. In every way, the Blast delivers on its promise--it's a fun, easy-to-use, more kid-friendly hoverboard that only presented us with a few minor issues in use that first-time riders/purchasers should at least be aware of.
On the surface, it's got all the standard farkles including bright multi-RGB-lit wheels and bright LED headlamps. A top speed of 7 mph might not sound very fast, but for a 95 pound kiddo, it gets her going PLENTY fast both up and down the rather large hill our house sits atop. Range is about 3 miles which is okay-ish for a small neighborhood, but it also means you can run down the battery kind of quickly at a park or walking path or just buzzing back and forth around the house for a few hours straight. Still, with just a 3-hour round trip under its belt, you've got a limited range of worry because your kid is simply not going to be riding the Blast down to the coast and back. The scoot is VERY responsive and quiet in operation, the large solid rubber wheels make it almost stealthy...even indoors! And as a favor to the parents out there, it's smaller and lighter than most standard hoverboards so my daughter was FINALLY okay with carrying this one around for herself.
The only issues in use we found were minor, but still important to note. First, there are no LED tail lights which reduces the safety quotient of this hoverboard at night. Maybe the designers figured kids wouldn't be out at, or after, dark on a hoveboard, but we all know better, don't we? Second, because the board is a bit lighter than some of its larger and more potent cousins, my daughter had a lot of trouble getting it to smoothly muscle past the choppy transition between the end of our cement driveway and the rough lip of the asphalt that paves our street--a more powerful hoverboard would make this transition reassuringly and with ease.
Overall, however, we are very pleased with the Hover-1 Blast--it proved every bit as fun for my daughter as the larger, more powerful, and pricier model we have sitting next to it by the door. Definitely recommended as a gateway hoverboard to something larger and faster as your kid ages and his/her/their skills improve.

What a fun product! I'm really amazed how this thing works. I know they've been around a while, but my kids are just now old enough where I feel comfortable with them riding something like this. As my daughter describes it, "It's like it knows where I want it to go!" It literally took minutes for my 8 year old to get a hang of riding it. I even let my 5 year old on it, and while it took a bit longer, he got the hang of it pretty quickly as well.
Nothing really to getting it going. Just plug it in until it's fully charged, turn on the power button, and go! The instruction manual talks about maybe having to calibrate it, but we didn't have to do that.
The lights are really fun, but probably not a necessary feature. They are probably pretty cool at night time, but I haven't let my kids ride it in the dark yet.
The one thing I'm scared of is that the instruction say not to get wet. I live in the Pacific Northwest, so it rains a lot come fall and winter time. Even when it's not raining, the streets are still pretty wet so there will be a lot of spray. I guess once that starts, this thing will have to go in the closet.
All in all, hours of entertainment for the kids. Highly recommend!

Seeing as this scooter is for kids, I didn't actually try it out but observed it in use for several hours by three children ranging in age from 5-12. Each child had previous experience with hoverboards, so they got the hang of it in a matter of minutes.
The board seemed very responsive. with each kid maneuvering and turning tightly without issue. The battery held for at least 2.5 hours of constant use and holds a charge for a nice long while when not in use. I don't remember even seeing a low battery signal during all the usage. The lights are a nice addition and accent the scooter well. They are a bit hard to see in bright sunlight but that's to be expected as they are there for decoration. I was wondering if the battery might get too warm during prolonged use in direct sunlight, but I was glad to see that, that's not the case at all. It stayed nice and relatively cool.
Indoors and on smooth driveways the hoverboard looks like a blast for kids. Once you take it to sidewalks or use on slightly uneven ground then it seems to run into issues. It was pretty common to have it catch on cracks or gaps. We were unable to ride it from the house to the park without having it catch and stall on a crack. As it stalls and momentum keeps you moving forward the natural reaction is to lean back to compensate. And since these types of scooters rely on the position of your lean to tell it which direction to go, a lean back will cause it to go backwards. Usually, the kids had to bail off of the board when this happens in order not to fall. Maybe a body closer to the weight limit of 160lbs will help keep enough momentum forward to get over such cracks and gaps. Empty smooth basketball courts; fun. Rolling from point A to point B on sidewalks; maybe not so fun.
Another small issue is that the scooter seemed to need recalibrating every other time we turned it on. We'd turn it on, and it would slowly drive forward on its own, needing us to readjust the calibration. The fix is quite simple and fast to do but a small annoyance when having to do it almost every time.
A fun little device when it's not hung up on gaps or driving away from you at the speed of an automated vacuum.

My son loves this blast scooter and he is very happy with the purchase. This is his first balance scooter and he learned quickly. I don't need more speed and its good for beginners. Very nice build quality and great components used. My first hoverboard experience and this was fun. For an intro hoverboard this seems to be a no brainer. Would absolutely recommend! Charging does not last long that's the only challenge. Other than that its a great and fun scooter

The Blast Electric Self-Balancing Scooter from Hover-1 is an intriguing addition to the world of personal transportation. With its stylish black design and retro appeal, it's sure to turn heads as you zip around town. Here's a breakdown of its specifications and performance:
Design and Build (4/5): The Blast scooter boasts a sleek, minimalist design. Its dimensions (8.66" H x 9.05" L x 24.76" W) make it compact and easy to maneuver. The black color scheme gives it a classic, timeless look. However, potential riders should note the weight capacity of 160 pounds, limiting it to lighter individuals.
Performance (4/5): The Blast offers a maximum operating range of 3 miles on a single charge, which is suitable for short commutes or leisurely rides. Its top speed of 7 miles per hour might not break any land-speed records, but it's ideal for a relaxed journey. The 5-hour battery charge time is a minor inconvenience, so plan ahead for your rides.
Power and Battery (4/5): The Blast is powered by a 36-volt battery with a 2-ampere-hour capacity. The package includes the battery charger, making it convenient for recharging. The lack of app control may disappoint some tech enthusiasts, but it simplifies the user experience.
Features (3/5): One standout feature of this scooter is its self-balancing capability, which is great for beginners. It's suitable for riders aged 8 years and up, making it a versatile option for families. The construction materials (aluminum, rubber, and plastic) ensure durability.
Warranty (3/5): Hover-1 offers a 90-day warranty for both parts and labor, which is somewhat limited compared to competitors. Buyers should be aware of this short warranty period.
In conclusion, the Hover-1 Blast Electric Self-Balancing Scooter is a fun and stylish way to navigate short distances or enjoy a leisurely ride. Its retro design and self-balancing feature make it an appealing choice, especially for beginners and younger riders. However, the limited warranty and weight capacity may not suit everyone's needs. If you're seeking a simple and eye-catching personal mobility solution, this scooter is worth considering.

Oh my. When I tell you the kids love this thing, I am not joking.
It came fully charged but I plugged it in and charged anyway just to make sure. It was only a few minutes and the charging block stayed green.
The directions are pretty straight forward. I even had the kid watch a YouTube video to give visuals.
But it’s pretty simple. Take one step on the pedal which actually moves up and down or once stood on pressing in so that it notifies the hoverboard that someone is standing on it.
Once you put your second food down you better have really good Balance or be ready to move forward or backward, that all depends on how you are leaning.
Having good balance really is the key. Leaning is even really needed. It more like the angle of our toes. If they are pointing up you go backwards.
If they are pointing down you move forward. It goes a little fast for me but the kid loves it.
The tires are of good rubber and can been used on the street or small gravel. It’s not that heavy so it can be taken on small travels.

I purchased the Hover-1 Blast Electric Self-Balancing Scooter for my son, and he absolutely loves it! The scooter is easy to ride, and the self-balancing feature makes it perfect for beginners. He quickly got the hang of it and has been using it every day. The 3-mile range is perfect for short trips around the neighborhood, and the 7 mph max speed feels just right for him. It's durable, fun, and a great way for him to get outside and enjoy some fresh air. Highly recommend this scooter for kids or anyone looking for a fun, affordable electric scooter!

As a happy consumer of the Hover-1 Blast Electric Self-Balancing Scooter, I can confidently say that this sleek and innovative ride has truly elevated my commuting experience. From its impressive performance to its stylish design, the Hover-1 Blast has exceeded all my expectations.
Let's start with performance. Despite its compact size, this scooter packs a punch. Whether I'm running errands, cruising through the park, or simply enjoying a leisurely ride, this scooter delivers a smooth and exhilarating experience every time.

Within minutes of hopping on, I felt completely comfortable and in control, thanks to the intuitive balance sensors that adjust to my movements in real-time. I have bought other hover boards before, but this product from Best Buy has great quality. The charger last for a long time and the design is very aesthetic. The weight is not to heavy nor is it to rough to pick up for the age required to ride. I was also very excited for the price that was being offered during the holidays. It was definitely a steal, especially since good products are very expensive during these times of inflation.

I bought this for my 12 year old daughter. She zooms around our house (hard wood floor) with ease. It’s fun and she likes the lights. She can get some speed, does turns, and carries our cat while riding (can’t recommend that last part). I, however, would probably die on it lol Great for kids though!

Oh mygoodness, my son loves this thing. Out of the box , it comes with the hover board and the power cord. It took only an hour to charge it and after that, it was off to the races. It's smooth and responsive and for kids with a fresh outlook. My son asked me to try it out and even though I told him it wasn't for me and that I was over the weight limit, he still emplored me to try it. At the risk of possiby breaking it and him lossing out on hours of lazy fun, i gave it a try. I felt like an idiot, because apparently, I have no control over my mind and body. Lol!! With that being saidd, it does have a 3 mile range, n=but I don't recommend that anyone use this in stead of walking or jogging. That's the health nut in me talking. So I do make sure that my little guy get in at least 10,000 steps for the day before using the Hover Board. From using it, I can attest that it does require balance and relaxed state of mind to use it, until it becomes second nature. Basically, I'm saying that anyone between the ages of 10 and 17 years of age should get the hang of this in no time. Ok. I admit, that once I got the hang of it, I was having a great time on it. I'm 10 lbss over the suggested 160 lb weight limit. i wouldn't stay on it long if you are over the limit. But for those that are of the right weight, I'm sure this will help strengthen your calf muscles, while riding one of these. Again, as loong as you get your 10,000 steps in for the day, I don't see a problem in the world to nott have a great time on one of these. Just maake sure you're on a smooth surface and not in traffic. This has got to be the perfect gift for your active child.

I like that this model is very simple. Turn it on and works. There is no phone app required to use it, no settings, just an on/off button and the charge port.
It has lights of course: The wheels have a not too bright rainbow pattern and the front has bright blue lights that also blinks when turning. Kids like the lights and it's not obnoxious to the parent.
Our two girls 13 and 14 were very excited to play with this. The first day both of them made very little progress. A lot of hand holding to get the gist of it.
Getting on is tricky because it doesn't has a mode for when one is mounting it. Stepping on one of the pedals it immediately starts running circles. One has to jump one foot and land it evenly and then quickly jump the other foot. The balancing on the board is not strong enough so it would wobble a little.
Getting off is supposed to be easy but it takes practice: The kid has to step one foot backwards on the floor and most likely the loss of balance will make the board spin, so our kids fell bum on the floor several times. That was not fun, and they almost gave up on it.
By the second day they were getting better and were able to play around a four-car driveway with little help, but always with one sibling nearby as the board doesn't hold too straight without perfect balance.
The wheels are rubberized plastic. There is no absorption so any little pebble or small branch on the ground will make the board shake.
By the end of the day they went back to their bicycles.
The board got a few scratches because it's too low to the ground and the front bottom ends up hitting the pavement.
Battery lasted the whole afternoon because they couldn't get too far without falling.
Charging is simple: It comes with a small power supply and has a sturdy 3-prong connector. The charger has a red/green light to indicate charge.
Overall I wish it was more stable and simpler to operate. Modes for boarding and getting off the board needs more work. If the kid gets the hang of it, it looks like a lot of fun.

I love this hoverboard for my son! He is 7 and I literally thought he was going to be scared to learn to ride it! Could have fooled me! He’s so comfortable with it and rides it with ease as if he’s been riding it for his entire life! I think its really given him so much confidence in not being afraid to try it. He even tells me that i shouldn’t be scaredto try to ride it! I love how it’s so quiet and how the lights illuminate. If we ever decide to go out in the evening for him to ride it, I’ll definitely be able to see amd keep up with him! Pefect choice for a youbg child of riding age!

My first exposure to two wheels hover boards was around six years earlier. It was a Christmas gift for my two grandsons. At that time some brands posed concern for potential fire hazards. Alot of engineering was spent to make these battery-operated devices safe.
The running lights on the front and in the wheels make the scooter stand out. and visible. In my neighborhood, we don't have sidewalks, so this helps make the rider visible. Charging is easy with the special small cube and plug. The unit steers smoothly thanks to the swivel knuckle in the unit's center. Tires really grip. My grandsons jumped on and were comfortably running around with no trouble. They might even eventually let their younger sister try it.
The scooter is rated for 8years or older and less than 160 pounds. Make sense.
Were a helmet, gloves and knee pads, as well as elbow pads. This little guy can really move, even though the self-balancing technology is proven. And don't let the unit 's battery get to zero as this function will no longer operate reliably.
Not to take away from the cool looks and features, I must note, I wish I had more time to truly put the board through its paces. I ordered the Blast Self balancing hover board for my grandchildren the last week in July. Unfortunately, they had to return home to school before the scooter arrived. Electronic shortages created challenges we are all faced with in the techno driven world.

Good beginner hoverboard. My child got used to balancing on this really quickly. Range is a little lacking, and the repeated beeps on low battery are too frequent/loud, but otherwise, was a good value when bought on sale.

Like it it works great, battery life is not the best but works good and its fast, my daughter love it and fell a couple of time in the learning curve so make sure to get protection for the kids.
