The only way to stop at gear 3 is jumping off

It is fine at gear 1 and 2. But when kick up to gear 3, this board becomes very unstable and hard to control. Since there is no remote, i found the only less dangerous way to stop the board is jumping off. I would not recommend it to any un-expo of boards.

My plan was to get the board to replace the bicycle.
However, the speed is relatively slow when you hit the uphill.

Horrible toy

I purchased this product a month ago and the performance on it has been absolutely horrible and then it broke.
Whats bad about it:
1. The sensor works too well and there should be a remote. Having a sensor on the board, while being an interesting idea should be just that. An idea and nothing more. Taking one foot off of a skateboard at any point feels dangerous even if you just put it right back down is simply bad design. The fact that you also have to take your foot completely off in braking mode is even more ridiculous.
2. The battery life and power of the motor is laughable and does not at all live up to what the company claims it is. Within the first week I owned this I took the board out to see how far it would go. I went on nice running trails that had little to no incline on them at all and the board lasted for about 4 miles. Which is less then half of what the advertised distance was of 9.3 miles.
3. I owned it for a month and it broke. The motor and touch sensir have simply stopped working and since it is past the Best Buy 15 day return policy I cannot return it and have to deal with Hover-1 themselves which leads into another problem.
4. There is no good way to contact Hover-1 and their website is a joke. There is no phone number that I could find for Hover-1 even in the instruction manuals that came with the board.
I really do wish I could give this product a good review it was fun to ride in the MONTH that it still worked but because it broke, didn't go as far or as fast as the company promised, and has a bad design overall I can't.

Right out of the box, this skateboard is easy to enjoy. The first thing I read on the Hover box was that 'Safety is our priority'. The skateboard felt very safe and easy to maneuver. It rides much like a normal skateboard and gently adds power to the wheels when your rear foot is in a certain spot. It's very easy and fun to ride. I have no problems letting any of my kids or their friends try this out. The board is rigid but easy enough to steer by gently shifting your weight on your toes or heels to turn left or right. Highly recommend! Great product!!

Great Electric Longboard

The Hover 1 Electric Skateboard is a great electric board that is affordable compared to other boards on the market. The foot pad makes it very easy to control your speed when you are riding. The board itself is high quality and is not much different than a normal longboard. I like the idea of not having a remote in your hand at all times; this allows you to be hands free when you are riding. I use this board to get around campus and it is perfect for this. The charge on this board is perfect for what I need along with the speed. I have not had any issues with this board and would buy again.

After a few tries, I was up and running!

I've had the Hover-1 - Cruze Electric Skateboard for a few weeks now and am loving it!
Even with only minimal experience on a normal skateboard, after a few tries on this I was up and running!
There is no remote like other electric skateboards include because the Hover-1 Cruze's uses a simple cruise control system. It was pretty easy to master and I ended up happy that there wasn't a remote that might take my eyes away from the road and or any rocks or bumps I might have not seen if I was looking down at my phone or a hand held control system.
I now use it to make short trips around my neighborhood vs jumping in my car and wasting gas. I never hit "top speeds" that the hover-1 board advertises (most likely because I am close to the top weight it says it will support) but have also never felt that it was sluggish or that I needed to go any faster.
Overall a great electric board and worth the price considering how much money I will now save in gas on short trips around my neighborhood!

Fun but ...

So my son bought this for himself as a Christmas gift. So he’s had it 5 months. Well yesterday it started beeping uncontrollably, flashing the green light, and doesn’t work. The manufacturer only gives it a 90 day warranty and he didn’t get the extra protection. Sooooo for as much as he paid and as good of care as he took of it be aware of its possible lack of longevity.

Hard to decrease the speed
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The only cons for me is that it is really hard to decrease speed instead of stopping. The sensor is very sensitive and you can easily speed up to a max speed, but you can not return to a lower speed unless you brake and stop, which does not make sense to me. This board only provides the mechanisim to speed up, but not to slow down (slow down not means stop, but return back to a constant lower speed). This is dangerous for me. I think more time is required to practice it.
