The Hover-1 - My 1st E-Bike is an awesome electric bike for your children or anyone small enough to ride it in compliance of the weight limit of 132lbs. The Hover-1 E-Bike offers good range at approximately 7.5 miles with a modest top speed of 8mph. The lightweight frame helps to ensure the E-Bike can be maneuvered easily without putting excess strain on the rider, especially in turns. The setup is pretty easy. It only takes a few minutes to go from unboxing to having the E-Bike ready for it's first ride. The design is pretty impressive. The ergonomics are great for the rider. Seat height, handlebar position, and foot pegs... all in good position for a comfortable ride around the park or neighborhood. My kids ride as I walk the dog through the neighborhood, and they enjoy every moment of the experience! We also go into the downtown area of the city to ride around and look at attractions & monuments. I've always had reservations about letting them ride the electric scooters due to a number of concerns, however, thanks to the Hover-1 E-Bike, that problem is solved. The battery life is amazing! It only takes a few hours (just over 3 hours) to completely charge the battery from a fully depleted state. There is a battery life meter on the handlebar so you are always away of how much energy is remaining before requiring a charge. The controls are very simple to operate. My children have no problems with controlling the bike. The 150W motor delivers a good amount of power without being too much for a younger rider to handle. The brakes work really well and allow the rider to come to a quick safe stop if necessary. I would definitely the Hover-1 - My 1st E-Bike. It's a lot of fun for young riders and it can be taken nearly anywhere to give your kids an enjoyable experience riding around their favorite places.

Great little e-bike, my kids love it

The bike arrived in a somewhat large box with most of the assembly done in the packaging. All that was left to do was install the handlebars and front wheel. The included tools and simple instructions made that easy. Assembly took less than 10 minutes. There are also other tools that allow for the adjustment and even some amount of maintenance. It was mostly charged, but we topped it off and then my kids were off to the races. Unlike electric scooters, there's no regenerative braking, but that might be a little challenging for the little ones anyway. I've got 8 and 6 year old boys who already ride their own pedal bikes, but cut their teeth on balance bikes. It didn't take more than a few seconds for either of them to engage the motor, balance it, and proceed to test the limits. We have a large hill in the neighborhood, and the kids can fly down the hill on a regular bike. I do the same on my e-Scooter. One aspect my kids reported was that there appears to be a speed limitation on the e-bike, which is actually a great safety feature. It holds them back some on the way down, but the motor is strong enough to get them up the hill. I look at this as a critical safety feature even though my kids might want a little more thrill. The other kids in the neighborhood have all had their turns on the bike and everyone has a great time. I want to note what might be the most outstanding feature, in relation to other similar kids motorized conveyances. The battery life on this thing is astounding. 7.5 miles doesn't sound like much, but it translates to hours of ride time tooling around neighborhood streets. With a lot of kids motorized cars, motorcycles, etc., you're lucky to get 30 minutes. This means they get essentially all they want out of it before it needs charging, and we can actually use it to get the 6 year old to and from our public transit station. We were all able to bike the other day, take the train to an NFL game, and it had enough juice to get the tike home safely while dad and brother pedaled. Overall, the looks and performance met and/or exceeded all my expectations. The only small caveat is that I wish the throttle/brain on the handlebar were designed a little differently from a durability perspective. I anticipate needing to fix/repair that part and worry that it'll get damaged and not be covered under warranty. I've had a few conversations with the kids about how they need to treat it a little more carefully than they do their pedal bikes, especially the throttle. Finally, I'll note that the included kickstand is very nice and the perfect addition. I'm glad it was included and integrated, as bikes with aftermarket/non-included stands always create issues with balance of the bike. The e-Bike stands up on a variety of slants/surfaces that I don't think a pedal bike with an aftermarket stand would, which is a plus, given my concern about the throttle durability. If you're between this and some other motorized vehicle for your kid, I think this is an excellent choice.

The Hover-1 My First E-bike is my second "my first" product from the brand and the first e-bike in our home. This isn't a pedal bike, it's pretty much a balance bike with an electric motor and hand controls. Assembly was amazingly simple. Hover-1 deserves a big shout out for the well thought out packaging and ease of assembly. Probably the most surprising to me is the full featured multi-tool included in the box for assembling this bike. This was not one of those crappy allen wrenches with a philips head on the end - it has every tool you need (including sockets that I didn't need). Putting the e-bike together took me less than 10 minutes. From there it was time to charge the battery. I can't give a time for how long it took to top up the battery fresh out of the box - I went to check on it after about 5 hours and it was full. The E-bike is easy for kids to turn on. There are two "gears" or power levels/speeds, where the low speed gear limits the top speed of the bike for beginners. This bike has plenty of power in both gears and is easy to get the hang of. Your kid just needs to push start themselves like a normal balance bike, and once they have the bike moving at even a very low speed the electric motor kicks in to propel them the rest of the way. We haven't gone on anything like an 8 mile ride yet but the bike definitely doesn't slow down at all after 15 minutes or so of riding. The Hover-1 My First E-bike gets a strong recommendation for me. It's a well made bike that feels high quality from the tires to the kickstand to the electric motor itself.

Excellent bike with minor technical glitch

Packaging: Perfectly packed. No damage. It has front wheel, rest of the frame, handle, wheel caps, charging cable and required toolkit for assembly. I liked provided toolkit it is very handy and can be used for other stuff. Assembly: Instructions documentation is good and very easy to understand. Very easy to assemble, maybe 10 mins maximum. First Impression: it comes with full charge. Kids really liked it, we were unable to adjust the seat initially, even though I raised the seat as soon as my son sits on it, it was going down to lowest position, later I figured out how to fix. Pros : 1. Full charge in 3hrs 2. Runs very long time, almost 1 full day 3. Low and high speeds 4. Speed 5. Good for small kids ( 5-7 years ) 6. Charging level indicator Cons : 1. It won’t be convenient for kids who are taller than specific height 2. Leg rest sponge caps comes out so frequently General feedback: High speed mode is very convenient to ride. There is one technical glitch, usually it starts off slowly n picks up the speed, but if you want sudden high speed at startup.. you need off the bike and sit on it and push the bike with legs continuously and then start the bike it picks up sudden high speed.. which is ok.. when bike starts like this if you try to slow it down suddenly then you will notice bumpy kind of drive. Overall kids really liked this bike. I will definitely recommend this product for kids whose age is like 5-7 years or max 8 years range.

Decent first kids ebike. The design is nice. Very easy to assemble and it didnt take long, probably 20 minutes at best. As far as quality its solid very well made . Its comfy according to my child. You can make adjustments to suite your childs positioning. The seat post is kind of short not all children are the same height at their recommended age of use 6-8. But overall my son had fun with it. With only 7.5 miles of use and the max speed of 8mph you get roughly an hour of use at best. Then recharge it for 4 hours to use it again. It's decent like i said before . Its safe there are no chains or belts that can grab a childs pants, I'm guessing that this also why there are no pedals. I wish it did have pedals so it can keep my son active and occupied while I'm cooking something on the grill . I took it to the state park for the day but as mentioned before only being able to use it for 1 hour my son was bored after that. So i guess its better to use it while you're near the house and not at the park

My kids absolutely enjoyed the bike but legs were too long. It was simple to put together and included the tool needed. Which thought was great since it had multiple keys to use and is now something that's used with or without tightening things on the bike. It is sturdy enough for the tough riders. I wouldn't put a fresh learner on the bike since they may lose control or go faster than they can handle. The bike is very small so check the measurements for the child it is being purchased for. Since some kids have longer legs or a bit larger than average. Standby charging lasted for days but riding wouldn't be and all day thing like the none electrical bikes. I think that would be the only downside as it is a very fun bike for kids to enjoy. It was a good looking bike and lots of my childrens friends wanted to also try it out. It does keep them outside more but not a lot of exercise involve which I still prefer my kids to ride a bike that they will get lots of exercise out the way. It has been a constant toy used in my home.

My kids didn’t need an extra bike. I was a little worried getting this ebike but after a few minutes outside I can say they love it. My 8 years was cruising up and down the street and “playing” outside. Getting my kids out of the house to “play” outside is a win in my house. Now a days it’s a battle of screen time vs outdoor activities. I guess getting more toys outside will help them play. My 8 year had no issue riding the bike. Adjusting the seat was simple. At top speed its no faster than a regular bike my daughter uses. My 4 year tried with me holder her but its not for her ( I know the bike is for 5 years and older). My 4 year old will learn on a regular bike first before jumping on thee ebike. It will take some getting use too. Setup was REALLY REALY simple. Only took me 5 to 10 minutes at most. The tool Hover-1 provides is first class. It’s not a simple hex wrench but a whole pocket knife solution that I could save and use on other items (well done Hover-1). Definitely will use it for IKEA furniture Overall I would recommend this to any family looking for their kids to play outside more.

Great 1st E-Bike, but lacks an assembly guide

This is overall a great 1st E-Bike. It also charges relatively quickly and has decent battery life (it's not good enough to be a mode of transportation for longer distances like the larger e-bikes but it's perfect for use by a child). My only complaint was the assembly. There were no assembly instructions in the box (not sure if that's by design or an oversight), although it did come with a multi-tool so no additional tools were required. But some things - like the piece to attach the front handlebars - weren't intuitive (you have to pop the cover off to assemble it and there's no indicator of that) and the already attached power cable is just slightly too short to allow for easy assembly of those front handlebars. Once you figure that out though, it's smooth sailing. Including instructions and a slightly longer power connector between the controls on the handlebars and the motor would make this a 5 star product easily. On the plus side though, it is really easy to adjust the height of the seat - no tools required. In terms of use, there is a quick start guide on how to operate it and my 6 year old was off and running in seconds. Overall, this is a great first e-bike that could use some minor improvements on assembly and setup.

    Fun for smaller kids

I have a three kids from two to nine, so it goes without saying that they love this bike and the hover brand in general. All of the products purchased from them live up to their marketing material and this product follows that trend. It was super easy to assemble and the kids were enjoying it once charged. The seat height has a super simple adjustment mechanism that allows the different sized kids to adjust it on their own. Now I did give it four stars for two reasons. I think it is a little small if you happen to have bigger kids for their age, and it has to be in motion before the motor kicks in. I understand that is a safety feature, but at first when they were getting used to the power, they would hammer down wondering when it would kick in rather than having a smooth power curve. Maybe future models will be engineered to smooth out the initial start of the motor, but it really only took the kids five or ten minutes to get used to it. That being said, it really is a great bike for them and I am super pleased with it. Thanks Hover!

I got this as a gift for my son was initially nervous about him having and being able to use a “throttle” at his age… I wasn’t sure if he would be able to control the bike and maintain control as he accelerated but I’ve been very happy so far! Assembly was nice and quick with all tools that were needed included in the box. I charged it up overnight and it was ready to use! As soon as we had the first nice weather day we took it outside and I don’t think my son has gone a day without riding it yet. I love that it has a high and low setting on it. It gives me peace of mind and assurance that he won’t go too fast when I don’t want him to, but it’s still plenty of fun for him right now. I haven’t ever felt like he was unsafe while riding or the bike was going to get out of control at any time. It’s always performed perfectly safe and has become one of his favorite outdoor activities! Whether we’re walking the dog in the driveway, getting the mail, or just enjoying some nice weather, this has been a fun addition to our home!

Several of my kid’s friends have gotten hoverboards, and I was looking into them for my child. However, the e bike went faster than most hover boards, and skills transferred to riding a real bike. Very simple and intuitive, my kid was able to transition seamlessly from riding his regular bicycle to the e bike for fun. Controls are clustered by the right handlebar, with rubber tactile buttons to turn on/off and to control the speed. Battery life is indicated by a row of blue led lights. The bike lasts for several hours on a charge; to the point where the neighborhood kids have all taken turns and we never once had an issue with the power running out. Top speed hits 9 mph at the faster setting for my 6 year old. Not crazy fast, but certainly fast enough to keep young children (safely) entertained. We’ve taken this thing out around the neighborhood on roads and sidewalks, to parks on dirt and grass, and it runs very well. The red on our bike is matched on the handlebars, the handlebar guard at the center post, the main body housing the battery and engine, and the foot rests. Looks great and makes the bike easy to spot. Highly recommend.

Fun entry level E-Bike for kids

As the name states, this is a great entry level bike for kids that are new to electric scooters/bikes/hoverboards. I have a small child who has been using a self-balancing bike for 2 years now. With that training mastered, he had no problem transitioning to this bike. The seat was easy to adjust for his current proper height and should provide future years of use as he gets bigger. I should point out that the tires are air-inflated, so you need to be cautious where you ride to avoid rocks, stray nails, steep curbs, etc. I have other Hover-1 scooters that also have similar tires and can be a pain to replace if they ‘pop’. The max speed of 8mph is fast enough for younger kids under 10 but an older child may feel it is too slow. I only say that because I have a 12 year old with an electric scooter that has variable speeds of 6, 9 and 18 and it seems to always average toward the higher range. With that in mind, this is meant to be an entry bike for a child or small adult, so that max speed may not be an issue. Overall, this is recommended for anyone who wants to step into the evolving world of battery powered transportation.

Good Kids Bike With Some Concerns

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

Originally I had hoped to get the Hover-1 bike in the summer so I could take it out to some parks or trails with my kids and test it out on the open road. Alas, it wasn’t until the start of Winter when it arrived and given the electric aspect of the bike I was hesitant to test it on a rainy day. However, time is of the essence and so a short mini-review is called for. In the box the bike comes in just a couple pieces, much like any other bicycle. You attach the front wheel and the handlebars to the frame with the included hardware (there is a basic multitool included but I’d recommend using a standard wrench for ease of work) and adjust the seat to desired height with the tool free seat latch and you’re done. You still need to charge the bike before use with the included charger, which shouldn’t take more than about 5 hours, although when I plugged mine in the light seemed to suggest it was already charged out of the box. Fully assembled and adjusted for my 6 year old, the seat top to floor was about 23 inches give or take, so it really is a first bike and will be far too small for older children. I’d go so far as to say this is a strange mid-level bike between a toddler push bike and a children’s pedal bike. It took a few minutes to figure out how it worked because once the bike is unplugged you power it on with the right handle control panel. The control sits on the inside of the handle, like where a bell might be mounted, and features a power button, a low/high speed switch button, and LEDs to indicate power level with a lever below that controls the throttle. The left side handle has the rear wheel brake lever, standard to what other typical bikes feature. We were able to power it on by holding the power button for 3-5 seconds and we could see the LED indicating the battery level and the speed setting (again, high or low speed) but pushing the throttle lever didn’t do anything. To get the bike going it must be in motion, so a brief kick off the curb and then pushing the throttle gets the bike moving and keeps it moving as long as it's held down. Given the rainy NW winter weather we only had a couple short sessions when the rain stopped to give it a test drive but it does the job well enough. On low speed the bike cruises at a speed akin to when my kiddo lazily pushes and coasts on the old bike, much more manageable than I expected. We got some open road and kicked the bike into high speed and full throttle, and the speed was much less than what I worried it would be. The highest speed is not more than what a child would get with a standard pedal, the electric aspect kind of hand me expecting a motor motor bike speed and I was relieved to see I was wrong. As a product this is a great bike for casual bike riding but I don’t feel confident in how durable it would be on a longer trail session. For one thing, reading over the website it suggests the bike battery runs for about 4 hours so you won’t want to take this camping or on a larger trip around a bike trail loop. My concern about the durability isn’t based on any issues I personally experienced, just more of a feeling. The real concern with getting this would be how long your child will be using it and how you engage with them on your bike riding. I typically let the bigger kids bike ahead and back until I am able to walk along with my smaller kids on their push bike or training wheels. The Hover 1 E-Bike with training wheels would go faster than my smaller kids should be going (they’re bad with the “look both ways at intersections” rule) and I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable riding a bike to keep up and still be able to pull them from danger if they did ride in the path of a car. So it isn’t a great option for smaller children (meaning around the Preschool/Pre-K age) but its far too small for most elementary school children as well. Perhaps if you have a large backyard for riding bikes this would be a good option for your smaller kids but on the open road I don’t see this being a bike we utilize much if at all. Good product, just not sure where its place in my family is, I’d suggest bringing your child with you to the store and trying to see a floor model if possible before buying.

First, it doesn’t look fancy or out of the ordinary. It mostly looks like a regular bike for kids. It is simple but nicely built. Assembly was minor and in no time, it was ready to go. To start, your kid just kicks it with his/her feet and there it goes. If they never rode any bike before, it would take some learning to balance it but it should take less time than a regular bike Here are pros and cons I found: Pros: • Minor assembly. No more than 10 minutes or so. • Relatively fast charge • Fun. I wish I had one when I was a kid. Cons: • No pedals. Once battery runs out, it will need to be carried. • No exercise. This is like a balance bike I gave my daughter when she was younger. The difference is that it has a motor. As I listed in the cons above, it does not promote exercise and the fact it has no peddles means that when the battery runs out, you need to push it back to charge. Nevertheless, it is fun, and a good excuse for you and your child to at least get out of the house.

The Hover-1- My first E-bike is a great addition to our home. I have a 6 and 9 year old and they have spent almost everyday fighting over who gets to play on the bike. We received the red color(which is a little more orange than red in my opinion). I am able to put it together in under 10 minutes with the included hex key set. once you put on the front wheel, handle bars and padding, you must charge it until full. Once it is ready to be played with. your child will sit on the seat and push themselves forward, while pushing the throttle. IT WILL NOT GO IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE FORWARD MOMENTUM. This is not written in the instructions ANYWHERE. I had to call the company to learn this information. the foot pegs are a nice place for them to put there feet, but if it dies will you are out, there is no way to pedal it, you have to carry it. All in All my kids have really enjoyed it. Both my kids were able to ride bikes before using this, so there wasn't a balance learning curve. Fun was had from the moment they got on!
