Wanted to protect my Lens

A few sales associates told me this was a higher quality filter to still provide quality images. I am pleased as it also helps my lens to not fog up when going from indoors to outdoors for example. I often take portraits at the beach so I was also concerned with protection from sand and scratches.

The Antistatic properties of the Hoya Antistatic filters work great. So far, they have been the best at repealing dust and require less cleaning.

The peace of mind they provide, plus the ease of cleaning, makes them a required addition, along with a lens hood and padded pouch, to any lens I purchase. While I cannot say that this filter does anything other UV filters don't do, it certainly does work well and on the other hand, I have no reason to disbelieve the manufacturer's claims either.
