We gave this device a chance but it is terrible when compared to a MacBook or windows device. The OS on this is terrible! The hardware may be ok if it had a different operating system. Basically you get what you pay for. This is a cheap system that may work for some but not our household.

Inadequate, slow, and not reliable to-download apps are more complicated than window

Before I start, Ashley, the Chromebook rep, knows her stuff. I did not feel sold to by her, which is rare nowadays when shopping. She asked me questions about my Chromebook needs and helped me determine the HP as the Chromebook for me. All I can say is, don't judge a book by its cover, especially with this device. What I am referring to is the fact that this Chromebook has an i3 processor and only 300 knits of brightness this Chromebook is definitely capable of handling day-to-day business needs. Before buying this Chromebook I had tried the Acer 714. The 714 compared to this HP, has an EVO i5 processor, 2k display, stylus, and HDMI ports. I judged the book by its cover and I was very disappointed. I read about the HP Chromebook and I ignored the higher reviews than what the Acer received. First thing I noticed about the Acer was the differences in weight between that and the HP. The HP feels more comfortable in the hand when holding the device is tablet mode. The Acer has sharper corners and within the first minute of holding the Acer, the device starts to dig into the palms of your hand. Although the keyboard on the Acer has bigger-sized keys, I quickly became comfortable with the keyboard on the HP. The keyboard deck on the 714 also had a lot of flex, especially by the speaker grill. I was surprised by this because the 714 is touted as being more industrial, a road warrior. The build quality award for me goes to HP. I have not found any flex on this device and the speakers are only slightly louder than the Acer. The HP Chromebook is a steal in my opinion at $499, and if you find an open box the HP is even cheaper. I am still torn however on the device because one this about the HP is I wish the device was lighter to hold....

Great computer fluid movement quick processor excellent for day to day

Overall, I’m satisfied with this Chromebook. I bought it for educational purposes and is used by my elementary aged children. My only dissatisfaction is due to the poor display quality. It’s crisp, however, it’s very dim and the colors are muted, almost like they are transparent.
