I recently got my hands on the HP 14" Chromebook in Modern Gray from Best Buy, and after using it extensively for the past few weeks, here's what I've observed. Pros: Performance: Powered by Intel Celeron, this Chromebook is perfect for my daily browsing, emails, and streaming needs. Web pages load quickly, and multitasking is a breeze with its 4GB of memory. Storage: The 64GB eMMC storage is more than sufficient for my needs on a Chromebook, and it ensures fast boot-up times and application launches. Design: The Modern Gray finish gives it a sleek and contemporary look. It's lightweight and portable, making it easy to carry around or fit in my bag. Battery Life: For a day-to-day device, its battery life is commendable, lasting me through most of the day on a single charge. Cons: Camera: While it's adequate for casual video calls, I wish it was a bit clearer for those important meetings or virtual family gatherings. Sound Quality: It's sufficient for regular use, but for a richer audio experience, I pair it with external speakers or headphones. Overall Experience: Overall, this HP Chromebook has proven to be a valuable addition to my tech lineup. It's perfect for those who want a reliable, fast, and stylish device without breaking the bank. The Chrome OS is user-friendly and syncs seamlessly with my Google account, making it a plug-and-play experience. Would I recommend it to others? Definitely! Especially for students or professionals looking for a budget-friendly yet efficient laptop for everyday tasks. Kudos to Best Buy for offering such a gem!

Just what I needed. Price, performance and good security. The service at Best Buys was outstanding. I wish the keys lit up. But for this price no complaints. The battey life is very important and so far last as long as the description says.

For a Chromebook this isn’t a bad purchase for the price I paid for it. It’s pretty fast, does what I need it to do for school and lightweight.

It's no MacBook, obviously, but I think we all know that. You're buying this thing either because you need an affordable laptop for basic needs, because your kid wants a computer, you're already in the Google ecosystem, or some combination of the three. Regardless of your reason, this thing surprised me. I can get my work done (thanks to my employer using web apps), do general browsing and even enjoy some music thanks to the decent sounding speaker! While I wouldn't try to edit photos with how meh the screen is, it still looks good enough to watch the occasional movie, so take from that what you will. Overall, this is a great value for the money -- ESPECIALLY if you can get it while it's on sale!

very nice laptop for school. i love the touchscreen and the backlit keyboard, 100% worth the price. i also love the magnets that hold it closed, they are strong enough to hold, but not too strong to the point where it's difficult to open! it does lag sometimes on simple things like webpages but i'm sure it's mostly me just having too many tabs open. the mousepad sometimes clicks out and won't let you click on things effectively. that is only when i use it on a soft and non-fat surface. that could also be a feature that i was unaware of and don't realize how i'm turning it on. overall, a 4.7/5 stars from me. very classy and thin, plus there's face id to log in!

My black Samsung Chromebook served me well for years, but finally the Bluetooth (I listen to music with it at night so kinda important) gave out and I had to upgrade. I can safely say this model was perfect to go with. I can't say I'd pay the full price of $300, but the $160 I paid is amazing; I'd even pay $200. The battery life is fantastic, even by Chromebook standards. And the screen is crisp enough for use in daylight. I do think the minimum brightness is too bright if you need to use it real quick in the middle of the night, but I doubt many will have that problem. All in all, a very good Chromebook for a very good price.

This is my first Chromebook. I wasn't certain what to expect but although I've only had it a few days so far it's kinda blowing me away in a good way! I started with PC's in the late 1990's but when Windows 8 came out I HATED it and in those early days I was the early adopter of everything. After Win 8 I transitioned fully to the APPLE world. I'm "all in" with the Mac Mini desktop, iPhone, iPad now. I did intend to upgrade all of my apple items a few years ago but when the Apple moved from Intel to their own M chips, I waited. I don't do the "early adopter thing" anymore and like to wait until new tech is well tested and proven to be what they promise to be... This is why I still I have an OLD Macbook - first and only I purchased brand new. I only recently updated the other Apple stuff, and with my most recent upgraded iPad I'm using that more like a laptop. I wasn't really looking for another laptop since it's working well for me... and THEN with my focus on security this Chromebook is likely going to be the closest I get to an actual laptop for now. Cool that it's SOOOOO affordable! I'm proficient with both Windows and Apple platforms and as I understood Chromebooks, they're a stripped down device without storage... Wasn't sure what to expect - but in our world of hacking and security issues, I decided to give a CHROMEBOOK a try. I thought I would benefit from the WALL that a Chromebook provides for those everyday times that I do things innocently - things THESE DAYS that you have to reconsider, that might put me at risk for hacking. I've done a LOT of new protocols over the last couple of years, that include using ONE TIME USE apps for using my credit/debit cards, and have changed to encrypted emails and such. In reading about the superior built in protection of Chromebooks - added to the low entry price for buying one - I started to think that using this might add a good layer of protection to keep my more costly working devices safer and protected. With this device I've set up new email - from GMAIL since a CHROMEBOOK is a Google connected device plus an encrypted email too. I now can send email to myself if it is from someone I don't know - but that looks interesting - so that I don't risk opening them on my other devices. I mean, even AT&T and other large companies are reporting being hacked these days. You just can't be too careful. What is impressive is the Chrome Friendly apps that practically function like actual programs! This particular Chromebook also has a GOOD number of ports! 1) HDMI, 1) USB-C and 2) USB-A ports. It's lightweight and small. It has 4 CPU quad core (2 more than the Samsung) while the Samsung has a slightly larger screen, higher resolution and fewer CPU quad cores. Meh. I see the HP at so much less money, as the better choice right now. If it was reversed I'd have bought the Samsung and :) would have justified that purchase if it cost less. In doing a bit of light research I found that HP and Samsung were most recommended as "better Chromebooks" than some other brands. The deciding factor for me was - in this instance that while both - brand new - have a base price of $300 the HP was nearly half price while the Samsung only had $18 off at the time I was ready to buy. This chromebook is still new for me, but in the couple of days I've had it, I am - so far - loving the feel of it. These days with hackers just getting better and better I'm hoping that this gives me a tool I need to keep my information and my valued other devices more protected. I'll have to come back a few months later and update the review when I see how it works for me over time. It is looking GREAT so far! If you are considering it, go for it! I just ordered a translucent colored protective case for it too!

Pros: Great quality. Solid feel. Speed is good for web browsing. I have not used it for anything else so far. Love the color (matte silver). Quality graphics. Good size. Cons: Personally I didn't realize how much I would need a back-lit keyboard. Not a lot of contrast of markings on the keys so hard to see. If you are not familiar with Chromebooks, just know that some functions are different like no "right click" mouse button (you have to hold down the "alt" button while clicking to make it work) and no caps lock. Not really a con, just something to be aware of. Overall, well worth the purchase.

Purchased as a Christmas gift, from what the family member shared this is a great little everyday laptop. It's lightweight and easy transportable and is great for an average computer user (surfing the internet, streaming services like Netflix, using Google Drive). Battery life is great, and it charged super fast! The camera quality is a bit fuzzy, but nothing super bad. This is a Chromebook, so I highly suggest you do your research and know what you are getting into; if you are a student who needs Microsoft word and excel, chrome books may not be the best option for you. Chromebooks are like phones, they have apps and although you can download Microsoft word it does not come with all of the regular features. it can sometimes run a bit slow, but nothing crazy.

For the price point, it fits well. Battery life seems to be very fair as well as the durability. This laptop has a light weight design, which is what I was lookin for. For a Chromebook and pricing under $500 I have no complaints.

The Samsung 55” S85D Series with OLED is so lifelike and crystal clear you would believe it was a window being viewed and not a TV. Easy to set up and connect to cable or WIFi. Helpful and knowledgeable support team. …but the screen view steals the show. The screen is light but durable and the view so lifelike almost 3D. Friends and family keep walking up to the screen to see if they can “touch” the people or places on the screen - no joke! It’s a great value as well - purchasers of this TV will be very happy as we are!
