This computer has been working great. I just needed a computer for getting online for banking, email, facebook, etc. Have not had any issues so far. Keeps a charge for quite awhile.

Just picked up this HP 14" laptop for my niece on clearance at $124 and wanted to share my thoughts after setting it up for her. Let's be honest - this is a very basic laptop, but for the price point and her needs (mostly schoolwork and web browsing), it works. The 14" screen size is actually perfect for a young student - not too small to strain eyes but still portable enough to fit in her backpack. Build quality is decent enough, and the Indigo Blue color looks better than I expected. The keyboard feels okay for typing up homework, though nothing spectacular. Now for the reality check - with 4GB of RAM and that Celeron processor, you need to manage expectations. It handles basic web browsing and Google Docs fine if you don't open too many tabs. We installed Chrome and Microsoft Office, and it runs them... just don't expect to have 10 things running at once. The 64GB storage is pretty tight - we immediately set her up with Google Drive for school work since Windows updates alone eat up a good chunk of that space. Performance is exactly what you'd expect from a Celeron - it works, but you'll need some patience. Boot-up takes a bit, and there's noticeable lag if you try to do too much at once. But for basic schoolwork, YouTube, and web browsing, it gets the job done. Battery life has been surprisingly decent - she can get through a school day without needing to charge, which is a plus. The webcam is basic but works fine for her occasional video calls with friends. For $124, it's hard to complain too much. Would I recommend this as someone's main computer? No. But for a young student's first laptop or as a basic web browsing machine, it works. Just be realistic about what a Celeron processor and 4GB RAM can handle. Great computer. If you need it for simple things or are a beginner this works

Worse laptop I ever bought. It is very slow, no number pad with the keys. Very light weight. The bottom gets so hot it will burn you if you pick it up to move it. Battery doesn't stay charged very long at all. I have always bought HP for the last 30 years, never got one this bad.

This laptop is great, except the "A" button gets stuck quite a bit. Nothing that has been told to do to fix it has worked. I also did not realize that it did not have a backlight keyboard. Other than that, great product

Excellent for limited usage, primarily banking, Easy setup & configuration. Would recommended more than 4gb memory if used frequently or a lot on the web.

It has a pretty low storage capacity, overheats within minutes, a slow start up time and feels pretty cheap. I bought this for college and it's worked enough to do it's job, but I don't think it'd be good for anything other than doung some shool work, and even that's pushing it...

THIS IS THE SECOND (OR THRID) TIME I BOUGHT THE EXACT SAME LAPTOP. I LOVE IT BECAUSE IT IS WHITE AND EASY TO SEE THE KEYBOARD, IT'S ALSO LIGHTWEIGHT FOR TRAVELING . AND THE PRICE WAS RIGHT, EVEN IF I KEEP IT AS A BACKUP COMPUTER. VERY PLEASED.

A new laptop for $199 I didnt think was possible. 5 stars for price, be prepared for slow operation, little storage and memory. Youtube videos will lag , but at $199, I'd say it you just need a laptop this is a great option.
