I love the speed and I can multitask on it. I have many emails and sites open at the same time. And I work on my contracts also. No delay. I do not game . But I love the speed and I have enjoyed it and I still have it in S mode. I have had no issues from set up to installing what I want and loading my documents from my older computer .wifi pick up is great and I think it is a great computer . I have had it not quite a month and I use it everyday. It is very light also and I slip it in my book bag I carry every day to work and with me.Glad I went with this one.

I love this laptop. Multiple family members actually have this same laptop because of how reliable it is. It’s great for beginners and pros and the color is beautiful.

Although this laptop was what is called a "Burst SKU," it will probably never be available again in brand-new condition. It was the Deal of the Day on 24 August for $249.99, MSRP $399.99 (please don't ever spend that much on these). For the price, this was the best laptop in it's class. It seems like many people were thrown off by the "fingerprint reader," listed in the spec sheet (and even on HP's website!) why would a computer at this price point even have that? Shoutout to those people. Touchscreen, touchpad and keyboard exceeded my expectations. The screen resolution is the only downside, if you're sitting 2-3 feet away from the screen then it's perfectly fine. The keyboard is fairly clicky and isn't mushy like all the other laptops in this class. The speakers are front-facing, which is what HP is known for, they get very loud and doesn't seem to distort. Out of the box, please switch this thing out of S-mode, it's free to switch to Windows 10 Home. There was almost no bloatware out of the box. Being that the computer has an i3, you will need to disable Cortana completely to take some of the load off. I noticed that the fan was non-stop after 30 minutes of use while doing updates and using Chrome. They no longer let you disable Cortana in settings, so you will need to turn it off using the Registry Editor, which is a minefield for most users. For those of you curious, in taking this thing apart, there are two DIMM slots for RAM expansion, looks like up to 16GB, or two sticks of 8GB of DDR4-2400 SODIMM, which costs about $80-100, anything is better than 4GB. The SSD appears to be an NVMe, which can easily be upgraded, all you will need is the Windows Installation Media on a flash drive. Other than that, it has a USB-C port, 2 USB 3.0, an HDMI, and an SD card reader. Therefore, i'm honestly impressed, and for anyone who missed out on the sale, check back in a few days to see if they have any open-box... hopefully less than $249 since they fiddle with all of the open-box stickers every week (aka assign hundreds of stickers to one or two merch associates for the entire store), usually not to the customer's benefit FYI...

Sales rep kept trying to get me to purchase the 'upgraded' version which would've been I believe $150 more on the reasoning this has only 4GB of RAM. If you're not afraid or know how to open this up it has 2 RAM slots, grab yourself an 8GB stick for $50 (sku: 6346312 is what I purchased) and you'll be identical to the other machine. Purchased for sister in law and she absolutely loves it.

    Solid Notebook for the price

HP - 14" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 4GB Memory - 128GB Solid State Drive - Ash Silver Owned for 6-months Picked this up during December 2019 sale for roughly $269+ Tax for my step-dad as he needed a lightweight web-surfing/ email / YouTube notebook. He does the occasional spreadsheet or pictures for boating and boat repair but not a gamer, heavy video or picture machine. Surfs and streams well so far. I deleted most of the adware and "temporary use" apps, set up virus scan, his email, etc. so he could open it and go. So far he really likes it. The keyboard is a bit cheap feeling for me but I work in the industry and was not the target user. He likes it just fine. I will probably add some memory the next time I see him since I couldn't lay my hands on the memory prior to giving him the machine. Other than that... here are the points: ********* PRO ************* + VALUE - great little machine for basic web surfing, email and moderate streaming + SCREEN / IMAGE - decent for the price. I was pleasantly surprised by the color range and brightness range. The blacks can pixelate or get muddy when streaming but much better than expected for the price. ********* CON ************* - SOUND - Sound quality is low end to moderate but to be expected from a machine in this price point. Not the worst I have heard by a long shot. - Bit of bloatware in the preload. Purging that streamlined startup and eliminated some embedded popups disguised as a system notification. Irritating but the way the industry has headed even for higher end machines so not surprising.

The size of this laptop is just what I was looking for. I did change it from windows 10s back to windows 10. Then my brother HL-2279DW printer works perfectly. Also since my last laptop had windows 10, all of my files automatically transferred to the new laptop. The message that kept coming up saying if you delete windows 10s you will never get it back, was something I should have ignored as it is a much better computer for me when it is running windows 10.

I bought this laptop as a temporary thing while my primary laptop was throwing fits all semester so this became my primary laptop. It held up surprisingly well. I couldn't always go to the labs so I was doing some decent programming and I'm surprised he didn't overheat horribly. Once I HAD to run a pretty heavy program on him and typing was about 1 character per second. So you can tell he's not meant for that. BUT he did survive an entire semester of me pretty much testing his limits all the time and he didn't overheat or explode. If you're looking for a laptop that you just need to do the basics, super low power stuff, then I would 100% reccomend it.

I purchased this computer when it was a ‘Deal of the day’ special. This little HP is an incredible value for money. I bought it for $249.00 but wasn’t sure how well it would perform once I received it. Having said that, I can now say, I’m extremely satisfied with my purchase. It has everything that I desire in a laptop (reliability, boots up very quickly, and is light and thin). I would recommend this HP to anyone who is looking for a terrific little computer that will take care of your basic needs (surfing the internet, creating documents, video chat, etc.).

I really like the size of this pc. Similar to a surface laptop but has more features. 2 usb, 1 sd card slot, and a hdms port. The processor is a new i3. Only has 128gb ss drive but I have separate hard disk backup w/3tb. It has a touch screen. Only has 4gb ram but has 2 slots so I will be upgrading soon. I bought it on a deal of the day glad I did. So far so good.

If you're looking for a $1500 gaming beast, this ain't it. But for $250, it's amazing to get an i3 processor and a touch screen. This machine handles all the basics with aplomb. I use this machine to run all my non-browser applications, i.e. the ones that only come as .exe files. It's great to manage my several-thousand-book ebook library, data bases that index my print media, CD/DVD/Blu-ray/UHD disks, etc. and act as a host for my NAS disks that I use to back up all my other machines. I'm thinking of hooing it up to my 4K internet TVs as a local streaming host. It seems to have plenty of power to do that.

I thought this laptop would crash and over heat fast, but on the contrary it runs smoothly even when there are many apps open, and many tabs running. This laptop is great for basic web browsing, and for students on a budget. The only downside to this laptop, at least in my experience is that the battery last at least for me 4 to 5 hours. It can last longer depending on your usage. But overall not a bad laptop at all.

I have been using this laptop nearly everyday since I bought it and have had zero issues with it. I use it on road trips as well as at home and have used it for school and it has worked flawlessly for me. I am no computer geek and have no clue the difference between the processors but in my opinion it works as fast as I can use it. It also has a very appealing look to it and is a very sleek design. I just wish it had a number pad but I can live without it as most of the time I have it plugged into a TV via HDMI and am using an external keyboard and mouse. For the price it is an excellent laptop.

So far so good with this laptop. It's fast and lightweight. The only issue I've had so far is the fact that I purchased a new dual band router a few days ago to get better wifi coverage/speed at my house only to find out this laptop does not support the 5GHz band so I'm still stuck with the slower 2.4GHz band. Unfortunately, I set the new router up 2 days after the return period for the laptop expired or I would've returned it for something with a similar price that can accommodate dual band wifi.

It seems as if I am upgrading my laptop every year, which I have grown very tired of doing. Everything on the inside of this laptop can be upgraded significantly and it folds completely backwards like a tablet. Up to 32 GB of Ram?! It even has an empty bay for an extra Hard Drive! Screen is decent and it is on average for the weight. My only real complaint is it is a hair bulkier than say the lenovos, and the shell is made up of plastic and not metal so it does not have that luxurious feel to it. All in all a good Laptop at a great deal.

For the price, it's well-built and responsive. The touchscreen works well and overall a solid purchase at the significantly discounted sale price. At full price, it's still one of the cheapest touchscreens on the market but has somewhat underwhelming specs. Downfall: was unable to get the USB C port to work with any hubs, specifically when trying to use with HDMI. Peripherals would work, then when the HDMI cable was plugged in the laptop would throw an error and the device would become unrecognized by the OS until the cable was unplugged and the system rebooted. So suspecting the implementation of Thunderbolt/USB C is on the cheaper side of things with limited functionality.
