    Cheap laptop for moderate gaming

Was looking for new affordable laptop that could play some games on the side. Have an AMD APU desktop so was aware of the capabilities of the integrated graphics processing in this laptop. More than enough horsepower to play simpler games or older titles with good frame rates. 150 average fps benchmark on Counter Strike Source stress test with max settings at 1366x768 native resolution of laptop screen. (old game i know but it's my performance metric whenever i get new computer hardware). Knocking a star off because the trackpad is not very responsive. Battery is small and only lasts a couple of hours with moderate use, and has a tiny bit of "give" that results in clicking.

    Unbelievable value

I upgraded the RAM to 8GB, swapped out the WiFi card to a WiFi + Bluetooth combo card, took out the DVD drive and added a 120GB SSD. Total cost came out to $375

Can't beat the price for power ratio

So before I get into the review I am a certified computer technician. So my brother in law is in college and his laptop is barely able to be of service to him and its starting to have issues with the motherboard its a cheap laptop probably no more than 199$ I saw this deal yesterday for 329.99 brand new and looked at the specs. for me 6gb of ram was the downside but it is upgradable to 16 so not that big of a negative and the speakers are very quiet but for the price not a real concern either you can always plug speakers in or headphone to rectify that issue. Other than that this computer is fast and I tested skyrim on it after updated the graphics driver on ultra high settings and no lag where his current computer cant handle it.. The amd a12 apu is a great budget apu the cpu part of it runs at 2.5 ghz per core on 4 cores and its got 6 gpus not sure what they run at yet but it handled a few of the games i tried with ease and no lag I would absolutely recommend this

    Awful touchpad, cheap feeling overall

I bought this laptop for less than $350, so obviously I know the adage "you get what you pay for". BUT, my last laptop was $400 and is six years old and blows this thing out of the water. First off, the touchpad on this laptop is gritty, not smooth like most. Additionally, the left button is awful and wouldn't stay "clicked" while I was trying to scroll through websites or folders. The computer overall is slower than I thought it'd be. And last but not least, it feels so cheap. The plastic casing picks up every single fingerprint from you touching or adjusting the screen or cover. It's going back to Best Buy and I'll find another.

    Worse laptop I've owned

This has been by far the worse laptop I have ever owned, A12 processor runs Navisworks very well which is why I bought it. It takes for ever to start, it asks for password 2 or 3 times once it comes on, then I have to wait from 7 to 10 minutes before I can use it. Battery life is about 45 minutes at idle unplugged, if I don't use it for a few days battery just drains on its own, ( I've had others that hold charge for up to 3 or 4 months stored and unplugged). 2 of the 3 USB ports stopped working within 6 or 7 months, charger stopped working after 1 year had to get an aftermarket one, I have an 8 year old HP A6 Vision AMD Pavillion laptop that works better and faster than this one.

    Hp laptop

Bought this laptop less than 6 weeks ago, defective motherboard .....seems to be pretty common. Went through all the 40 steps HP recommended but nothing worked. Took it to the Geek Squad at best buy and they said the motherboard was defective. Good job Hewitt Packard!! Also not impressed with Best buy for selling this garbage. I have spent a lot of money there over the years but will no longer as they will not back up a product past 15 days and the salesman that sold it to us told us that their models were better than any other stores because they were all having monitor problems, what a load of Garbage!! Goodbye Best Buy and HP!!!!!

I'm very disappointed in this laptop. Not even a year old, have only used for school; the first 3 months I had it I had to get the fan and battery replaced!! With it being so new, they would only send it out to be repaired. 10 months old and will need the battery replaced AGAIN. Not sure how this got such a high review, but I will never buy another HP again.

This laptop has not worked properly since I opened the box. The whole thing is slow to the point it is a waste of time. Got this laptop to replace one I dropped a latte on- the one with the fried motherboard is quicker! Have been in contact with both HP and Microsoft to no effect. That just made it worse!
