I started on line courses in May after I purchased what I thought was a reliable computer. I am so disappointed that after 3 months the computer won't even load up the home screen. Since I didn't get the extended service plan I am totally stuck with a brand new hardly used LEMON!!!!!

I got my HP in the beginning of April and IMMEDIATELY regretted it. My FIRST one I received was an open box. ONLY A WEEK HAVING IT, I had to return it due to the battery failing. I got a BRAND NEW (closed box) one and a week later the battery is failing (only lasting a three hour charge instead of six, with my brightness turned all the way down and battery saver on) already. I contacted geek squad about it just to receive attitude and being told I have no clue what I'm talking about. As I am writing this on the computer my battery (which was at 100%) is now at 77% within 10 minutes. Being a full-time college student and in need of a laptop, I would NEVER recommend this to anyone. I am now stuck with a lemon due to the fact I need this computer to finish the semester and I'm not happy how I was treated from geek squad.

Saw the reviews & realized that most are from people who don't know what they're doing but they said the same thing - the CD/DVD drive is JUNK! I bought it anyway. It's a little slow but I started with computers with the first PC XT so I just remembered that I bought it as a cheap laptop. When I went to use the CD drive to load some software...nothing! I tried to play a DVD...nothing! Of course, this all occurred after the 15 day return period had expired. So I have to get my one month old laptop REPAIRED! DON'T BUY THIS LAPTOP! You've been warned; I was and didn't listen.

It is very, very slow. The pad is hard to use. If a mouse was pluged into it that might help but that would do away with the laptop feel. Windows 10 does not seem to be software meant for this type of computer. It takes a very long time, most of the time, to shut down. If you are looking to get one that you can afford to tear up this is the one to get, It wouldn't be a great loss.

I bought this computer on sale for its very good price, but I do not recommend it. It's VERY, VERY slow, without installing anything extra apart from the chrome browser, just browsing convinced me that it was not a good option, maybe if you only use it for presentations and word or you have no more budget. But if it is for the savings it is not worth it.

I usually always read the reviews for anything I buy and this time I didn't...big mistake! I bought this laptop because I had just moved out of state and needing something to apply to jobs and ofcourse personal use... NOW I KNOW WHY IT WAS ON SALE AND SO CHEAP. its not worth it, If you really want a good working laptop you're going to have to spend some money. The first day I took the laptop home, about 20 minutes in and it was already making that noise as if it was over heating. The programs open up really slow, even a Microsoft word took a long time to open, and the battery dies extremely quick. It would have a full charge and after one hour I was already getting a notification that the battery was dying and I needed to connect the charger. Once it starts making the overheating noise it doesn't stop, it goes on until you shut down the laptop. it was just a horrible laptop, poor choice on my part. I returned it before the 15 days was up and decided to get a dell. I paid $209 for the HP which that was the sale price, I ended up switching for a dell $599.99 on sale. Point is if you want a great working laptop that will last you long youre going to have to spend the money.

Do not buy. The computer is very slow and has major glitches like the computer getting stuck in an infitine reboot. It does nothing but restart over and over and never actually boots up. You're better to go with something with at least 6gb memory and a 1tb harddrive

It's cool but had it not been gifted to me I would not purchase it for myself. Battery life sucks, screen in mediocre, touchpad is HORRIBLE within first few hours of purchase I bought myself a mouse. This would be a good laptop for small kids with no real work to do on laptops but teens and Up will be dissatisfied

This laptop is as slow as molasses. Yes, it's a budget laptop, and they tend to be slow, but this laptop is too slow even when you take those factors into account. However, that problem is minor when you consider that right out of the box the laptop kept dropping it's internet connection. When it didn't drop it completely, it would slow to such a crawl that I would keep getting "slow internet connection" warnings.

I've now owned this laptop for about 2 years now. It is the worst laptop I've ever bought. It was very slow from the start. It didn't play my Sims game well at all. Then it moved onto not burning CD's most of the time. Also less than 6 months after buying it it started making pretty loud running sound. It sounds like it's struggling to load something all the time. I keep the system clean, I delete everything I'm not using and don't download anything big. Even after shutting it down for long periods of time, but still comes but up running like it's has a million things dragging it down. It can't connect to any app that'll let me transfer my files from my phone and the software it has on the computer to do just that won't function either.

From the get go, this has never worked. Slower than a sloth to start and memory is already full before you even start. Worst purchase ever and I was stupid enough to buy two of them.

If you absolutely have to have a laptop then go for it as a last resort. This computer is SUPER slow. I expected somewhat of what I was going to get for the price, but this thing was way worse than I could have imagined. Save a few more dollars and buy a better machine. I returned it.

I got this laptop thinking for a cheap price I would get something just to do homework and web surfing off of but first one did not work right out of the box and second one was slow. Very slow.

Poor battery life and almost incompatible with use speed, makes this product a poor choice to say the least. Spend the extra money and get something, anything else.

Purchased this laptop for my 13 yr old daughter. It was kept on her desk. She used it for homework and tried using it to watch youtube., The fan became noisy a few months in. The laptop was slow and crashed daily, then began overheating often. 18 mos after purchase, the motherboard is fried. Absolute piece of garbage. This is the 2nd HP laptop in a row I've purchased that has concluded with a poor ownership experience. Stay away from this particular laptop and you also might want to stay away from HP.

I purchased a computer when the laptop I was traveling with had problems. I needed something that would work when I walked out the door, and I needed it fast. I told the Geek Squad guys that this laptop needed to run Excel when it left the building. The first thing they told me was that it would take 10 minutes. I doubted it would happen, but I hoped it would...that would have been outstanding.45 minutes later I ended up leaving for a meeting where I should have had access to a laptop with Excel, but I didn't have it. When I came back more than an hour later, they were just finishing up with it. I'm glad I didn't wait. But the Geek Squad guys told me it was ready to go, and I believed them. I took the laptop to a nearby hotel where I needed the laptop with Excel, and discovered that Excel was not installed. I had been sold a year's subscription to Office 365, but it hadn't been registered and it was not ready to work. The wifi in the hotel was weak, and after an hour and a half of trying to register Office 365 with problem after problem, I finally gave up. I took it back to Best Buy and the Geek Squad where they finally did what I felt should have been done hours earlier, registered it using their strong internet/wifi connection, and had it up and running within 10 minutes. I watched the GS guys during that 10 minutes use a password or user name to register Office 365 that they hadn't provided to me. I'm not sure I'd have ever gotten it to work even if I'd had a strong internet/wifi signal at the hotel where I was supposed to be working. This was an incredibly frustrating 4-5 hours total. That doesn't sound like much, but after telling them that it HAD to be working when I left, and then discovering that it didn't,, I'm very unhappy with the service I got. I'm not at all sure I'd have ever been able to get it working without the username and/or passwords that they used but had not provided to me. The laptop itself, when it finally had Office 365 registered and ready to go, worked exactly as I'd hoped. I have no problem with the laptop itself. My only complaint is with the Geek Squad guys.

In the last 6 years, I've purchased at least 5 different HP laptops for myself and family members and I can sadly say that none of them are operable today. They are either having hardware issues or just completely fail to boot. This PC for instance was extremely slow right out of the box. And I'm not referring to the internet, but the actual response time when just maneuvering between windows and opening documents was just horrible.

I have always purchased HP laptops until this one. What a pile of rubbish! I have loaded absolutely nothing on this laptop but yet it is so slow. It's very cheap plastic, I have dog toys that are better quality. It spends more time "updating" than I am able to use it. If I had kept the box, it would be going back. Don't waste your money, so disappointed as HP products have always been so good, up until now. This feels so plastic & cheap. I won't be purchasing anymore HP laptops after this experience.

This computer is super slow, over heats, and the battery life is absolutely terrible. It dies with only an hour of use.

This product is just very slow. I don't use it much, mostly to read news...ESPN, MSN, Fox Sports, etc... This takes quite sometime for it to load a page, it even takes time for it to close a page. I've only had it about a week and I'm pretty frustrated. My $50 LG phone runs circles around this. I must have got a bad one because it had great reviews and as I said I really just use it for news and a few emails, I certainly wouldn't think doing that would even tax this.
