Overall the laptop itself would be a 6/10. The processor is slow, and you can't do any "heavy" work with it. However, its perfect for students to do their school work; and its great for the price.

I had a similar HP laptop previously--this one can be just a touch slow, but it is not major hindrance to my tasks. For the money, it's a decent deal and does the job.

It is a good laptop for the price. The value is definitely there. It's relatively fast and has plenty of memory and storage. Windows 10 sucks though.

This my fifth HP PC (2) Desktop (3) Laptop is perfectly priced. It a DVD, Number PAD, Ethernet connection, Wi-Fi, SD card reader, AMD A6 Radeon processor, 4 gb ram and Windows 10 Home. This laptop is perfect for MS Office, Quicken, TurboTax and running at the same time. The battery life good, lasts several hours. I like this laptop for the price.

Despite reading some sketchy reviews here, I decided to take a chance on this laptop. After all, I’m an IT guy and even a former Geek Squad employee with Best Buy many years ago: I can get this to work just for web and email (which is all I needed it for) right? Wrong. The laptop looks nice. It advertises decent battery life that’s realized by using it. It’s light. It has a number pad. But it all goes downhill from there. This is quite possibly the worst tech purchase I’ve ever made, and I don’t say that lightly. I love AMD, I love HP, but this laptop has some serious ghosts in the machine. Oftentimes a reboot would leave you with a black screen and no signs of life, forcing a hard shutdown. Other reboots may take up to a full eight minutes to get to the Windows login screen. The specs of this machine shouldn’t dictate such shoddy performance, but I got way better use out of a 7-year old Core i7 this was replacing. I returned it after two weeks of fighting to make it work at all. It was hopeless. No software updates, optimization tweaks, or anything got this to work for even the most routine tasks. The worst? It took over two hours to install Microsoft Office 2016 on this dog. Avoid at all costs.

My young son saved to buy this laptop. It was on sale at a price his savings could afford. It isn’t a high performance laptop but does what he needs it to do, which is homework online.

This is a great laptop for the price. It has a lot of storage, but needs more RAM. If you are going to run more than one or two programs at a time, invest in a unit with more RAM.

My last laptop had broken, and I was looking for something to replace it. I wanted something not too complicated, not too expensive, and able to meet my simple needs. And this laptop does the job. It does all that the sales force and tech-support specialists said. (Well, I didn't check out everything, but this laptop handles the things that I did check, namely, the things of greatest use to me.) I never had a problem with this laptop.

This is a great laptop if you are looking for something well under $500. It might not be super fast, but it is still very capable with more than plenty storage space.

Pretty good with handling all the tasks and good battery life. This is a great deal for the price. My son really enjoys using it and he hasn’t had any problems so far.

Laptop was on sale and it’s worth everything it was priced at. Not the fastest laptop so don’t expect to play games on it. But for everyday use it’s really worth it.

I thought this would be just a good 'grandparent' computer but its handled everything I've thrown at it so far. 4 streaming radio stations, 1 YouTube video and playing a DVD all at the same time with no lagging. Easily imported about 1200 word/excel documents and over 6000 family pictures. Trackpad keys, both left and right, were a little sticky at first but are OK now.

I use my computer to pay bills online, check the news, read articles, and shop. I have an anti virus, malware and a clean up program among Office 365 and files for my Family Tree. I needed a computer I can trust and I've always trusted HP. I love the extra GB but HP and other computers need to add extra memory. Sometimes when I have two programs opened and the malware scan is running, I freeze. I don't have an extra slot to put in more ram but I hope I can replace the 4gb with a 16gb ram so I stop freezing or purchase a Ram Stick. Otherwise this computer is perfect for me, works great, but it should have had more ram installed. No one can do a lot on a computer these days with 4gb ram. HP and other companies need to get rid of 4gb and replace with 16gb or offer a Ram Stick. HP is still my favorite computer, I have been with them since the beginning, I hope they listen to me.

It is a little slower than I would prefer but I expected it. It does what I need it to do. Can't beat the price. Got my money's worth out of it.

Great laptop for people in school that use their school system to access software. Lots of space to save your documents but limited memory

Runs great alittle slow but with the price and specs can't complain. If you plan to game use ultra low settings. Can still play sims.

Well , for the price I wasn’t expecting anything amazing. It works for surfing the net, using photoshop and watching some movies. If you leave it on for awhile it take a minute for it to research meaning the ram on this computer is not that great. Best thing to do is close the applications so that it doesn’t get jammed and doesn't delay you from doing your work. I rate this computer a 6 out of 10.

I am not a gamer. I use the machine for shopping and for keeping up to date on happenings in the country and world. My internet connection is high speed broadband yet the speed of the computer is somewhat slow and my connectivity is sometimes a bit "Iffy" but, for my needs it works well. If I were still working I would have to have a more powerful machine. As I am not, this is adequate for what I want it for. My experience with Best Buy was excellent - very competent and friendly, helpful staff.

Easy to set up. Didn't want to spend a ton a money since a third grade student was using it. Working great for him so far.
