Budget and Feature rich, NOT Performance Friendly

    |
    Posted .

You will get what you will pay for. This HP Notebook is very feature friendly but it is not rich with quality. 1. 7th Generation Intel Core i5 processor 2. 1TB HDD 3. 8 GB DDR3 RAM 4. Crisp HD Backlit Touchscreen 5. Windows 10 OS 64-bit activated. 6. USB 3.0, Webcam, HDMI Port all in built. 7. Rugged and robust design and seems durable. All of these comes with a very cheap price with exciting deal 400$ only. What else you can wish for. Similar configuration can be found at that time of purchase around 500 - 650$ price range. However although it is cutting edge tech rich, it is not fluent in performance as it is. Some drawbacks are mentioned as below: 1. Battery back up is decent, not very good. 2. Touch Screen response is not buttery smooth a it is expected. More often we need to touch or slide multiple times for the action to be performed. 3. Mouse Pointer pad and Mouse click sometimes not responsive and I had to hit hard couple of times to get the job done. 4. Keyboard press is not very adaptive and silky smooth. 5. Webcam is extremely poor , worse than VGA Camera. 6. Git hanged couple of times. So, in this price range, it fulfills all the task but if one intend to get superior performance, it is not the one. It is budget friendly but not feature rich laptop.

I was looking for a basic laptop at a good price. The touch screen was a added bonus. The larger screen is easy to see making the laptop easier to use.

    HP is still Flawed

    Posted .

I wanted to rate NO star I've avoided buying HP Took a risk and it blew up in my face. You get what you pay for. Had my laptop for 4 weeks and few days fan was on overload for three days and then just shut off and won't turn back on. HP manufacturer is replacing my power cord for now. We will see if that fixes the problem. But I'm regretting the buy already. Cause I know there will be more problems to come. This brand is flawed and always had been. I had a toshiba for 12 years, the fan only came on torwards my 10th year of owning it. Maybe once or twice when I used it for over multiple hours at a time. Never shut off on me or had any other problems.

    My A-HAs

    |
    Posted .

I spent a lot of time trying to find a computer for a good deal. This computer stood out and I decided to buy it. It is a fast performing computer and is a great value buy. Here are some a-ha's.... Pros: 1) Fast performing! 2) Great price 3) Bottom of the computer doesn't get hot like my old ones! Stays nice and cool. 4) Touch screen works pretty good. Didn't think I would use it, but it's really helpful. Especially, when scrolling through websites. 5) Start-up isn't the long start-up from the past...it's pretty quick. Cons: 1) The wireless card on this does not support the newest wireless technology of wireless AC. I can't connect to my service providers 5 gigahertz connection which just means I can't access the internet as quickly. It goes fairly quick but there is lag time. 2) The keyboard is not lighted. I didn't think this would bother me but when I'm sitting on the couch with just the TV on...it's kind of annoying not to be able to see the keys (I can type without looking but sometimes there's that one key you need to look for). 3) The screen quality is "OK". For some it might not matter, but it's not the most amazing. It's really fine, but I'm just being picky. 4) The mouse trackpad makes me feel like the computer is running slow. I installed a wireless mouse and this thing works so much smoother with that! 5) Memory is not expandable past the 8gb installed from what I can tell. Suggestions: 1) Unpin the "ad" looking things from the start by right clicking and clicking "unpin". This helps declutter the start menu and then you can find programs you WANT to put there. 2) Unpin icons from the taskbar on the bottom of your screen that you don't use by right clicking and unpinning. To pin something down there just right click on the program and click "pin to taskbar". 3) Buy a wireless mouse. You can get one online for like $10. Worth the investment! At the end of the day, I use the internet a lot and want to have the best connection to upload things to internet and download things from the internet so this computer isn't for me. But, if that doesn't matter to you...this is a great computer!

Great laptop for the price. It doesn't have all of the bells and whistles, but it's high quality and does what I need it to do without fail.

Great laptop for the money. Inexpensive.

I hate buying on impulse because I usually don't do well but I had to buy a computer and fast to get my taxes done so I thought I would just go get the cheapest laptop I could find that will get the job done and later when I have time to research and compare then I would buy a better one. Well I was really impressed that this inexpensive $388 laptop actually was as powerful as a $1500 laptop I had bought in the past. It had an older processor i5 but the 8gb of memory and 1tb hard drive gives me plenty of space and speed. The graphics are great too! The only thing I wish I had on this laptop is a backlit keyboard since I like to sit in my bed at night and surf the web and have to use a reading light to see the keyboard but that feature wasn't worth adding another $300 th the price I paid. I also got lucky on the price because the sale was off the next day I went into the store and it was listed for $547, which still isn't a bad price for what this laptop has to offer in features but sure glad I got a steal. :-) Can't go wrong with choosing this laptop with the DVD/CD player, hdmi port, and wifi built in feature, windows10, etc. I can stream video to the screen or to my 57" TV via my hdmi cable. Best bang I ever got for my buck!!

    Battery Drains too fast

Great computer. Fast, easy to use. However, the battery drains too fast. I can't get through a whole day before I have to plug it in. I don't stay on my computer all day but if I use it for surfing the web or reading articles or online class assignments I have to keep it plugged in.

    It works

I needed a laptop for graduate school. It's online and I didn't want to have to go to the campus if I didn't have to do so. I wanted a CD-Rom drive because I like to put music on a mp3 player headset that I have and I still have tons of movies on DVDs that I watch. The computer works well. It's not fancy and sometimes Windows 10 can be annoying, but overall, it's a good experience. i will say that when I went to the store to purchase a computer, this one was back in a corner and all the ones without CD ROMs were up front--the fancy ones that convert to tablets. This was actually cheaper.

    Excellent Laptop

    Posted .

I have now used this laptop for a few weeks now and have not had any problems with it at all. The touch screen is nice and I forget to use it as often as I could. It could use a few more Flash drive ports but I use a multi USB port device for more hook up when I need it and hey where is the DVD/CD drive? Just kidding there is a nice drive tucked in on the right side that does add a nice touch to this machine. This HP Laptop is Excellent. I'm very happy with it I sat it up for my use and deleted things that I did not want on it. With 1TB hard drive I who is worried about running out of Memory? Love the 8Gs of RAM for faster downloads. This machine has as much on it as my Desktop for much smaller space. Hey why do I have a Big HP Desktop if this does it all... maybe because of all the extra screens and attachments. Well I do recommend this HP as I do all HP products. Get one when there is a sale. (Gota Fly for now have a nice day.)

    Really Good Computer

    Posted .

I have had this computer for about a month now, and have really enjoyed it. I love the touch screen! The speed and screen quality are good. The storage space is great. My one complaint would be that it is a little difficult to find the keys without looking sometimes. They are in a different location than my previous laptop (a Dell), and they are not lighted up. Although the touch screen helps, I am going to look into getting a mouse for easier maneuvering.

    Really good!

I bought this laptop since my old one I have been using during college was already kinda at the end of its rope. I'm a digital artist and an animator I rely a lot on a lot of programs so I decided to buy a 1TB laptop with the intention to use it for a long time. I wasn't very interested in the touch screen aspect but the specs fro this one was just right and so I bought it. I love it! It's very fast and the size was something I liked. I can use a lot of heavy programs all at the same time and I can even play heavy mmorpgs and other video games and even found a way to take advantage of the touch screen even when at first I didn't care about it. It's a good choice for my artsy stuff and my nerdy stuff lol. It's a good price for me too!!!

Vast improvement over my old desktop pc

I bought this on a trip to Best Buy with a friend who needed a new laptop for her work. I had been thinking about this purchase for a month with no real research. My friend ended up with an I8 HP laptop Envy. The 5I in my laptop suits me just fine, my use mostly personal with a small amount of work-related need. I'm coming from a Windows XP desktop Pavilion so the Windows downloading process rather than an install disk took some getting used to. This is my first laptop so my biggest adjustment is the slim keyboard.

Lots of processing power for a mid range laptop

    |
    Posted .

Lots of processing power with the core i5 processor and 8gb of ram. For a mid range laptop you also get the added bonus of a touch screen. I got this laptop for work and can't complain. It's lightweight and the battery lasts a long time. The 1TB hard drive is more than enough space. I know it's not SSD but no delays experienced both at startup and while running. Great product for the price and it came bundled with a subscription for Office at a discounted price!!

Best buy for a computer with these specifications

    |
    Posted .

I was looking for a 6th or 7th generation i3 processor based computer around $300. And I just happened to find this computer on sale at Best buy for $349. It had 7th gen i5 processor, 8 gb ram and 1 tb HDD along with touchscreen. I couldn't be happy with the specs and price and so jumped right away for this computer. It works great. and touch screen definitely a plus, and useful in some situations. However, I wish it had Bluetooth and keyboard backlight. The build quality is not great, but then can't expect it from a $350 computer with 7th gen i5 processor and good useful RAM. I would definitely recommended it for anything lower than $400.

I really like this laptop, the screen is huge, the side number keyboard is really helpful. The touch screen feature helps a lot, and overall I would recommend this laptop to everyone. I am a MAC user but needed a Windows laptop for work, since I only use it for work (Microsoft Office and voice software) I'm not sure if this laptop would be good for streaming movies or gaming. I don't give it 5 stars because sometimes its a little slow to get from one task to the other.

    Great features for price

    |
    Posted .

I am usually a Mac person. First PC purchase ever. However, the ease of use of this laptop sold me on it. Also, touchscreen is a nice feature for a cheaper laptop. The only drawback is it seems more flimsy than what I am used to. It's plastic and I am going to make sure not to travel much with it and only use it at home. Overall, though, this was very easy to set up and really runs well. I had seen some reviews that said it was loud or had glitches, but mine is great!
