great laptop for the price. Does everything I need it to do. Screen quality and size are excellent

Display letters not bold also keyboard letters can barely see I feel in a few months of use they will actually disappear

This laptop is HORRIBLE. Honestly if it weren't for one thing that kept giving me problems on it, I would have given it FIVE stars. All I wanted was a laptop under $500 that I can use explicitly for work. THAT'S ALL. That's why I only needed a 256gb SSD, but I needed a 17.3 inch screen cuz I like big screens so I can see what I'm working on a lot better. So, for the first few weeks, it was good. Sound came out nicely for a super budget laptop. It ran smooth. THEN, suddenly, the wifi started cutting out. It slowly got worse and worse and worse, until I had to literally start resorting to using my desktop computer. My personal computer, for work! The one reason why I bought this laptop because I was using my personal desktop PC until I got this and my PC ended up crashing cuz of all the stuff I kept putting on it to do. So after awhile I got fed up and finally took it to Geek Squad. I had it sent out. They replaced the wifi card. Took it home, then the same thing. Took it back 3 more times. Wifi card was replaced every time. Same issue. Geek squad had the nerve to say even one of those 4 times there was nothing wrong with it, but there truly was. 2 of those 4 times the geek squad tech in the store even saw the wifi not work right in front of them on the counter. Finally, by the 4th time, the lead geek squad guy finally allowed it to be returned so I got store credit for it and applied it to a new laptop of a totally different brand. Yes it's a cheaper laptop but all I wanted was for the wifi to work! I guess you really get what you pay for, eh? I'm sure HP will type a response swearing it's not their fault to this review, but I don't care. What happened happened. HP sucks. To think I almost bought another HP for my desktop too but someone I know led me to a new dell that was also affordable and has been good to me for a few months since. Shame on you, HP. I think it may have been the motherboard but I don't even care anymore. I was allowed to return it finally after 4 times and now I have a laptop that is yes a little more expensive (I paid the difference of course) but it's way more reliable than this piece of junk!

Great budget laptop. Would have preferred Windows 10 Pro and not Windows 10 in "S" mode, but the laptop is good.
