Overview:
The HP 17.3" Laptop with an Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB of memory, and a 256GB SSD offers a solid blend of performance and value, making it a great choice for everyday computing tasks. Its large 17.3-inch display provides ample screen real estate, enhancing productivity and multimedia experiences.
Design & Build:
The HP 17.3" laptop sports a sleek, modern design with a durable build that feels robust yet lightweight for its size. The large display is perfect for those who prefer a spacious workspace or enjoy watching videos and working with multiple windows side by side. The keyboard is comfortable for extended typing sessions, though it might feel a bit cramped for users with larger hands.
Performance:
Powered by the Intel Core i3 processor and 8GB of RAM, this laptop handles everyday tasks with ease. Whether you're browsing the web, working on documents, or streaming content, it performs smoothly without noticeable lag. The 256GB SSD provides fast boot times and quick access to files, significantly improving overall system responsiveness compared to traditional hard drives.
Display:
The 17.3-inch screen offers a full HD resolution, delivering clear and vibrant visuals. It’s especially advantageous for those who need a larger display for tasks like editing documents or watching videos. While the screen quality is decent, it may not match the color accuracy and brightness of higher-end models, but it is more than adequate for general use.
Battery Life:
Battery life is average for a laptop of this size, offering around 6-8 hours on a single charge depending on usage. This is sufficient for a day’s work or a few hours of entertainment, but it might require a recharge during extended periods away from a power source.
Connectivity:
The laptop comes with a good range of connectivity options, including USB ports, HDMI, and an SD card reader. It also features Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, ensuring you can easily connect to the internet and other devices.
Value for Money:
Given its specifications and performance, this HP laptop offers excellent value for its price. It’s ideal for students, professionals, or anyone who needs a reliable machine for everyday tasks without breaking the bank. While it might not be suited for demanding applications or gaming, it excels in providing a dependable computing experience for standard use.
Pros:
Large, clear 17.3" display
Solid performance for everyday tasks
Fast boot times and quick file access with SSD
Comfortable keyboard
Cons:
Display quality could be better
Average battery life
Limited performance for more intensive applications
Conclusion:
The HP 17.3" Laptop with Intel Core i3, 8GB of RAM, and a 256GB SSD is a commendable choice for users seeking a spacious screen and reliable performance at an affordable price. While it has some limitations, particularly in display quality and battery life, it offers solid value for typical day-to-day computing needs.

Bought this laptop because of the black Friday sale . The screen size was a plus for me and the Sata hardrive size was the negative for me. But I just purchased an external 5tb drive so all is good. I am pretty pleased as to the speed. The drive boots super fast and webpages load pretty fast. The other huge negative is the fact that this laptop comes in "S" mode. It was a little bit of a pain to get it out of "S" mode but it can be done with patience

Great. This is a perfect laptop. The key board is the best size for error control with its large space. The screen is large, so everything is easy to see (squinch control). I love that the SD card goes deep into the laptop so the SD card doesn't bulks out. Gaming is low to mid end. I game a bit so I know what to look for example anything around. mortal kombat 10 (not mk 11)can be played on this laptop. The screen is 17 inch so watching moves on your desk is fantastic. Music sound LAPTOP good when I was playing my music from apple(low bass output). Wifi card holds up great depending on your wifi my wifi is good so I have no lags on this laptop. I altered the virtual ram ( look at YouTube to alter virtual ram its easy if I can do it you can too) Its set at 128 mb laughable. I change the virtual memory to 2 gb (2000 mb) which increase the performance of this laptop 100 % and improved the stability. The os it comes with is windows S (Jesus windows S is the worst os ever made). Windows S is for tablets not for Pc. You can switch out of it and get windows 11 (Windows 11 is for kings and queens)by going to the Microsoft store or try to download Google Chrome and .follow the directions. Windows S belongs on the surf tablet I don't understand why they keep trying to put it on pc theirs to much business in the pc world to be held back by a tablet os. Tablets are for entertainment only and not to be taking to seriously that's were windows S belong. The SSD it comes with is good but only has a 180gb usable storage (laughable). The sd card slot is well designed so you can fix the storage handicap with a SD card for some extra storage. All in all this is a great all around laptop that want disappoint it does everything good on average. The i3 core processer (intel's duel core processer line) holds its on and works out great on average. Work, school, entertainment get this. FYI.... this is not a specialist laptop (high graphics design editing vallums of 4k) this is a day to day life companion Laptop Because of its large size get this for its enhanced day to day use like HP designed it. And for that this laptop is perfect.

This is overall a nice laptop for everyday use at a reasonable price. It's fast and lightweight, given it's larger screen size. It has 2 drawbacks that can be overcome. It comes out of the box in "S mode" which prohibits non-Microsoft approved applications from being installed. It's fairly easy to disable S mode, which I did right away. There are a videos on YouTube that are very helpful.
Secondly, the keys can be hard to see in certain lights. In fact, my husband couldn't see them at all. Having spent a bit of time setting the laptop up, I didn't want to return it, so I bought letter stickers to affix to the keys so they were more visible. The stickers actually look nice.

Windows 11 is fast compared to previous versions. This laptop has been great except I had to spend most days for about a month trying to figure out what was causing a Warning to appear that began with the first startup saying Intel Optane Memory disk is at risk. Finally decided I had learned that this pc doesn't have it so I disabled those notifications & so good so far. I did have to take it out of S mode which is Security & it only allows you to download anything from Microsoft store & it can't be reversed. The keyboard is all gray with slightly darker gray letters & don't light up so not much contrast to see the keyboard. Otherwise it's great so far.

I have been needing a new computer for a REALLY long time. The desktop I used until I purchased this laptop was over 10 years old which is pretty much ancient in tech time. I just need a basic unit for online college courses. That's exactly what this laptop is.
It does all the basics and can't really handle much more. I don't even save anything on it. I use an external hard drive. It streams, it's perfect for internet browsing, it charges fast and holds the charge, it has ok sound, it has a webcam, it's basic but not too basic. I love the freakishly large screen size. Some have noted the fan noise. It's not loud. It hardly makes any noise. My husband's PS4 sounds like a freaking space shuttle taking off compared to this.
It's under $500 (I got it for $350) and it's worth it. With computers, you usually get what you paid for. I feel like the value of this laptop is more than what you should expect for the price.

My husband has been using this laptop for work on his remote days and it does exactly as it should. No issues whatsoever!! Great size screen and the buttons are easy to see. It’s a great size but is larger than most standard carrying bags so do keep that in mind. Highly recommend for standard use!

I've had this for quite some time now; so I can give a legitimate review here.
It does what I want it to do. Fast and reliable.
Microsoft Windows has its own issues, but that has nothing to do with the Laptop.
Make sure to get enough memory, especially if you save large videos or other big files.
I would buy it again!

I have an older HP Envy 17 inch laptop. I have always liked HP products so when I needed a laptop to replace my office desk top this looked like a good choice. I never had an i3, my other laptop is an i7, but it seems very fast. I do not do complicated work like CAD programs but I view a lot of medical scans on it and the speed, color rendition and ease of use are the same as my i7 for $700 less. Some reviews say the letters on the key are hard to see but I cad no issue with that. A great buy from Best Buy.

I picked this as a Christmas gift for my mother to replace her older laptop. I went this route because it was affordable, which was a high priority, but also because of the size. My mom is a retiree and needs things offering better visibility, which this definitely checked. It also offered a keyboard more comparable to a desktop in its layout, however there are times where the silver keys and surface blend and can be a little hard to see the keys. That was my only real complaint. It was in S mode but that is very easy to remove. It processes fast and handles all the tasks she needed. It isn't a gaming laptop but if you need something for daily use (internet browsing, Office work, etc) then this is a very budget friendly unit.

This computer has been able to do everything I have needed it to. I work roughly 13 to 16-hour days, writing, editing, and doing research. And this computer has been able to keep up the pace.
