The HP laptop computer I bought for my wife is small enough to provide portability and big enough to give her all she needs for her purposes. A good amount of RAM, plenty of storage, preferred processor and adequate speed were major factors in the decision to choose it over several others. Although it is basic in some areas, it should be more than enough for her personal use.

This was everything that I was looking for. I find the larger screen very appealing. Very fast processor. Runs very cool and absolutely silently. My only criticism is that the labels on the keys are very small making it difficult to find the keys that are not often used. The price was great.

I needed a new laptop since my old HP laptop crashed. I am in my 60's and did research on different types of lapetops and knew I wanted a larger screen so I was limited in my choices since I didn't was to spend a ton of money. I was going to get the intel core 7i but the intel core 5i was on sale for an unbelievable low price ($399.99). I spoke with the sales rep and he really explained the difference between them. Since I was not planning on using this for work and only for household, personal use he felt I would not need the faster 7i. I also wanted a laptop with a disk drive since I have a digital Sony camera that uses the small disks. The laptop works well with my camera which was a win win for me. I have only had it for a few days but so far it is doing everything I need, has good speed and a improvement on my old HP laptop. It was easy to set up, once I logged on it transferred items from my desk top computer. I was able to load the virus scan and office without any difficulity. Thumbs up to this one.

This computer has all I was looking for, it has the speed, storage and screen size. The touch pad edges are not defined so for me that is a bit of a undesired feature. But overall pretty good so far

This computer does everything I need it to do and more........so glad to be able to go back online. I love the fact that it is so much faster than my old one that went to Laptop heaven. I just got it and I was worried about the new Windows 10 operating system but the young name in the Geek Squad booth was fantastic and showed me just how easy it is to learn.

This laptop is fast, light weight, and very powerful. I would recommend if your on a budget or just don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

I read reviews before buying this that said it was too slow, especially on boot up. Couldn't be farther from the truth. Boots up within seconds (unless it's updating but all computers take a while on that usually). I use it mostly for viewing documents, making spreadsheets and running modeling software for my job. It's perfect. Screen is large enough for me to view things on each side and the number pad isn't too small (have to do a lot of number input). Don't use it for gaming nor do I plan to. It is also lightweight.

I've only had this laptop a couple days but I love it already. It's extremely fast while browsing and was a snap to set up. It's rather large but that's what I wanted. It's super thin so it's still quite light even tho the screen is larger than most. The mouse part threw me off a little but it works great it just looked kinda like they forgot to add the mouse touch pad. Lol this is my first hp, I typically always got a Dell but I'm really loving this laptop!

My dad had a 6 year old laptop that he said keeps resetting on its own. It became really frustrating and irritating. So I purchased this newer one for him on short notice because I had to send it overseas to him also on very short notice. For his usage, this is just right - large screen, faster processor and more memory.

I'm typing the review on the laptop now. Excellently large screen in HD. Very fast processor. I only use the computer for music (1TB worth) and it runs great. The few times I've had multiple programs open running simultaneously, mostly MS suite items and iTunes, it's hummed along just fine.

Been through 5 laptops throughout my college courses and this laptop has the others beat! Really efficient, no problems, great size and speed. Worth the $$. Definitely recommend this for college students especially for those who have online courses. This laptop is still running and acting as brand new though it’s been over a year since I’ve bought it.

I bought this laptop to replace an old one. It is fast and has plenty of storage. I've only had it for a month, but so far it has preformed flawless. I will write another review after I've run it for a few months.

Plenty of storage, fast enough processor, large 17inch display is very good. Daughter is very satisfied with this product!

A nice 17.3 inch display along with a full sized keyboard and ten key pad make this the best for replacing that desktop PC. Lots of disk space and all the features including an optical I/o drive make this a powerful machine for the everyday user. It also has USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports as well as an HDMI output for connecting to your TV which is great for presentations as well as viewing movies and video clips. It came with all the best features that most people want and was a snap to set up and start using it for internet and other uses. This is a very good value priced computer and it's perfect for school, business and personal use.

I'm still getting familiar with Windows 10 but I haven't had any problems with it. One review I read complained about the time it takes this computer to boot up and it's true. I timed it and it takes about 5 minutes. There are computers that boot up faster but I don't find this to be a problem since I usually have it go into sleep mode and only fully reboot about once a week. I have been trying to see what the maximum RAM is for this computer and I suspect that it's 8 GB (2 X 4 GB in two slots). But this computer is so new that the information is not readily available.

Good laptop, nice and big with good color and resolution. Plays Sims 3 pretty well on stock RAM. Bad news? The speakers are in a stupid spot and you'll never get this thing fully apart to install new hardware without breaking something. Srsly, there's no easy access panel to swap harddrives or ram like my last laptop. Not the laptop for people who wanna upgrade it.

The perfect combination of design, reliability, and great features for a great price. The 7th generation i5 core is as fast, if not faster then the older i7's. Perfect for web surfing, e-mailing, video watching and Microsoft office work. I am not a gamer so I can not speak for that type of performance.

I bought this for my girlfriend to work from home and haven't seen any sort of performance loss or lag. The computer is super lightweight and the fans are side venting for the couch sitters out there (you can put the computer on your lap without blocking it's airflow) great resolution and a decent keyboard and TouchPad layout.

Easy to use out of the box, fast enough, big screen but not bulky. It does just what was expected.
