He is having difficulty getting used to Windows 10

This was a gift for someone else and I was told by the person that the laptop was fine. Since I am not working with the laptop I could only rate it as average.

Screen broke in just 2weeks. Sent for repair still awaiting its return. Bad customer service on this repair. Website for Geek Squad repair says they found problem received part and are working on it. The next day it said. Found the problem ordered part. A hour later said received part and repairing it. The next day it said found problem 30 min later said same thing as previous 2 day. So am I really to believe that they even started this repair?

I will be contacting the Geek Squad as it keeps dropping my internet connection. It is rather annoying to have to continually connect.

Basic computer for basic work like school work. Not for streaming or gaming. Gets too slow if heavy documents.

This laptop failed after 6 months of very light (couple days a week) use. HP refused to accept it under warranty even though it was a hardware issue and under a year. After my experience with HP customer service I will NEVER purchase an HP product again. They have zero integrity. Stay away from this laptop!

Touch pressure required on "mouse" pad is too high. Windows 10 sucks. Updates all the frickin time.

Buying this, my second this year, open box laptop was regretful. I actually came in for a new laptop but got talked into this open box one again because the features were so much better. I did not leave the store with it, I let the geeks install the updates because the last time there was no power cord in the laptop box. This time they were the ones opening the box. That's when the multiple problems arose. The list is on file there I'm sure. The updates were done in demo mode and had to be redone. Then something was wrong with the battery. At one point they actually decided to pull a display model from the shelf, a DELL. Not sure where they were going with that idea. I bought it on a Friday, called them Saturday was told the install was done incorrectly. Then got the call Sunday that it was done, started driving then got a call while in transit telling me it was switched for another laptop from the display shelf. I came back home then returned this item Monday.

I purchased this HP laptop on 1/14/2017. Don't use often and keep in padded case. I used on 3/1/2019, when I tried to close the top, it resisted and made a horrible sound, then i looked and the top was coming apart from the screen. Took to Geek Squad to send out for repair estimate-estimate to fix is almost as much as I paid brand new. The laptop was not dropped and I always babied it. Never again purchasing HP. We purchase a warranty from Best Buy that we were told would cover all electronic devices in our home--well not, when i took my laptop in, the warranty only covers software not hardware. I feel like I threw $400 + the price of the extended warranty out the window. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER. Will never ever purchase HP product again.

Very bad computer. I had this HP laptop for only less than six months because the hinges had easily worn out making the laptop not usable. The twisted hinges made it impossible for the screen to stay visible. Also, I could no longer leave the screen standing erect anymore. I suggest sticking with Lenovo and Dell brands which have durable screen hinges and keeps working like the Energizer bunny. Don't waste your money on this miserable computer brand HP who was previously Compaq or as most call Comcrap!
