Disappointing computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My son has only used computer for a couple weeks playing games like minecraft and it's not working right. I'm trying to do troubleshooting ideas from the website but will most likely have to contact HP. So disappointed.

CHEAP PLASTIC AND TERRIBLE SUPPORT
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only had this laptop less then a month, it is made from plastic, something accidentally fell on the back of the screen lid, it damaged the screen internally. I spoked to HP support, to fix it would have been $323.99. I literally only paid $429 for this laptop. They are going to make me almost more to get the screen fixed, than what its worth. All the support person could say was "higher HP authority chooses the prices." Spend a little extra money and get a decent laptop made from good product. No i can only use this laptop plugged into my tv via HDMI cable like it is a tower.

Not so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device did not recognized my password so I had to reboot it twice. I gave up bc rebooting took almost eight hours. It actually let me login but not every time, it did whenever it wanted.

Aweful - DO NOT BUY!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the WORST buy at Best Buy!! Save your money! Where do I start? This computer is slow, let me add a "very" before slow; very slow, graphics card can't even keep up with a DVD (let alone a YouTube video), and it occasionally freezes on me (forcing me to restart). I purchased this computer new because I was in a bind, but it runs like a 3 year old PC. Save your money and don't buy. Hope this helps someone out there.

LCD panel opened cannot put it back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Poor quality, slightly around one year of usage the LCD screen plastic bottom-right corner started to pop out and cannot push back since then, you cannot close the lid it will push the hinge all the way out. We can only keep it open 365/24. Totally become a desktop.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It has not worked right since we purchased it. It is currently being sent back to the factory to be repaired. Don't know if we would purchase a product like this again, because it has not come back from the repair shop.

Good for the average user - fast enough for most
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been working with computers since 1978, way before PCs and internet, and I think for work purposes this machine is pretty good. It is made to handle the way the bulk of users work, but it isn't a really high performance computer. Considering the price you are getting a fair deal. I think it is reasonably priced and is good for students, home users and general applications programs. I like the full sized keyboard, the 1 terabyte hard drive, the optical drive (amazing that this feature is being left off of a lot of notebooks nowdays), and I find the screen size and resolution good enough for general computer use. If you are a hardcore gamer using a lot of 3-D rendering and want super hi fidelity sound this is probably not going to make you happy, but you expect to pay 3-4 times more than this costs for that kind of performance. I think a lot of the reviews are from people expecting Alien Ware performance and this is not going to deliver that experience level. It comes with some useful programs but I wish they had loaded MS Office on it - you have to purchase a license to use the preinstalled versions that come with the machine, about $50.00 per year. It also has a recovery partition on the hard drive, which is easy to burn to a USB memory stick in case you lose the hard drive somewhere down the road. This is a great feature that can save you a lot of grief. I also recommend buying a backup external hard drive and backing it up regularly so your files don't go extinct when the catastrophe of a hard drive failure happens - the odds are it will and having a backup to replace the data will save your bacon at the time you need it the most. If you need a good workstation you can take with you, this is a good choice as long as you aren't modeling nuclear physics reactions or trying to break high bit count encryption software. It is meant for casual use and not rocket science. It is a good desktop computer replacement.
