After reading reviews for different laptops I chose this one. I read that a intel core 17 would be good for photography . I wanted a laptop so I can take it with me and I could edit photos while I was away. I have downloaded photos,and did some editing, it is fine for what I needed. I really haven't used it for much else . I'm sure I will use it more.

I's light and powerful. It has all of the features that you could ever need with a decent price.

We were long overdue for a new laptop. After much searching, we found the best price at Best Buy and purchased it over Black Friday weekend. The staff was extremely helpful and personable. And, although one of the busiest shopping days of the year, we were waited on quickly and service was fast, and best of all, what we wanted was in stock.

This works great. Great specs for the price. Can't go wrong with this if your on a budget.

I purchased this item because I needed a windows machine to process some video that my Mac couldn't do. It works great and I am very pleased with my purchase. I have been involved with computers since the 80's so this was not a new adventure. It is a good computer.

Replacement laptop. New i7 processor and 1T hard drive. Should last quite some time. Was disappointed that Windows 10 does not include a file transfer program. The one Microsoft recommends is no longer free to download. Geek Squad could not tell me if memory could be upgraded. Not sure why they could not just look at the floor model.

This is a review of the Model "17-x115dx" HP 17" Notebook PC. I bought this because it had all I was looking for as a replacement PC. I wanted one that had an internal CD/DVD. Hard to find a PC that includes one nowadays, because Millennials routinely download additional programs, but I like installing programs from CD or DVD, and don't want to search for the USB plug-in external drive. This PC includes a speedy USB-3 slot, and an Intel-i7 processor. The 1 TB hard drive is more than I'll ever use... so, Bonus! HP calls this a Notebook, but I think that with the 17" screen, it deserves to be called a Laptop. It has 2 more USB-2 slots for a total of 3, which includes the USB-3 slot. In addition, it includes a headphone jack, and Ethernet, HDMI, and SD slots. The 8 GB of DDR4 memory is all I'll need, but it's nice to know that It can be upgraded to 16GB. The only curious thing about this PC is that it has an "Intel CORE i7" sticker attached to the keyboard surface that also states "7th Gen". However, the results of running a free program, such as "Belarc Advisor" tells me that it is 6th generation. I'm not a computer expert, but I'm not even sure there is such a thing as a 7th generation i7 processor. All I know is that it is plenty fast for my purposes. It does not however, have a discrete Graphics slot. It uses the on-board Intel HD Graphics 620, so heavy gamers should probably look elsewhere for a PC that costs more the $600 price tag of this PC.

Traded in an old laptop given to me by my sister-in-law and used the $$$ from the trade-in to purchase an open box. So savings was significant. Also, Geek Squad helped to get it up and running with software I use. Added bonus, when I got home and realized the laptop had a CD drive. Apparently, one of the few laptops with a CD drive. Love it all, the laptop and the service from sales and tech.

The computer is lighting fast, large screen. The battery lasts at least 8 hours

It's a decent computer but it doesn't have a good graphics card in it. The sound is horrible. I don't know why a lot of manufacturers are building laptops with speakers facing down on the bottom of the computer. When playing a video or sound file it just buzzed and rattled the plastic body of the laptop. The plastic body of the laptop will due but feels cheap. It feels like if you're not careful you could crack it. I returned mine and got something more suitable after using this one. But if you just need something to email. write documents, or if you need good sound (plug in some good speakers to the headphone jack because it doesn't have bluetooth then it's an okay computer to buy.

Love my new laptop computer. It is easy to use and lightweight for travel.

Much faster and quieter than my old HP G60 laptop. It has a nice big bright screen and zips along at a very respectable pace. Windows 10 rocks!! Got it on sale with free 2 day shipping. It doesn't get any better than this.....thank you Best Buy.

Approriate price, great user feeling, easy handle compared to other ones

Bought this HP laptop as a Christmas gift for my mother since her Dell was many years old and dying a slow death. For the purposes of surfing the web and emailing this laptop more than meets her requirements. Very fast surfing the web. Only complaint would be that I wish it would boot up faster.

Lightweight, quiet and fast. Amazing what you can get for under $500!
