Even though it is slim, it is sturdy and ideal for college use. It’s been easy to use and has great graphics and sound quality for a laptop. I even love the white and gold design.

I love my Chromebook! It has been so user friendly! My granddaughter and I have so much fun on it watching stuff off the web during this time while we are at home so much. We have found sites that are children friendly and she has been able to use the computer at the age of 4. I still use it to pay bills and everyday activity.

    1st chrome book

Got this for a decent price back in the holiday season, wasn't really looking for another device but the specs and price caught my eye, so I've had it for about 5 months. This is the 1st chrome book I've bought for myself, I've used my kids chromebooks before just to help them out whenever they asked and wasn't really impressed, pretty much felt like a standard tablet with a keyboard, though they weren't doing anything that needed to much power. The chromebook I got is so much more powerful and feels like a top end laptop with tablet features, it's one of my main devices I use now. Some Pros I like about it: - Extremely fast bootup and overall speed within the OS - Touchscreen and gestures work well - Convertible to a tablet is a nice feature, though some drawbacks, see cons - Ease of use, especially if your used to the android OS - Tons of apps/support that cover most everything from work related apps like vpn/remote connectivity to entertainment, communications, and games - Battery last a long time, I can use it for a couple days straight and not worry about charging, this is with 2-3 hrs of use per day. - Like that there's two power connections, available on both sides, which is very convenient - Like the auto login if you link your phone to it and other integrations with your google account And here are some Cons: - It's nice that it can convert to a tablet, though 14 inch is kind of big and heavy, so I don't use it that much in its tablet form. - gets a little hot and noisy from the fan if your running multiple apps - some apps aren't natively built for it, but can still run, though would look like the phone app where the size is cropped to the size of what a phone would be. Also, some apps seem like its built with half of the features, like Netflix, can only play in full screen, though now with the latest update you can do picture in picture, so now you can watch and multitask with other apps. Overall, I'm very impressed with the chromebook, it seems they add features and further app support regularly too

    The Best Chromebook

    Posted .

First off, I am a COMPLETE Apple fan, I usually use a MacBook Pro and I have a 7th gen Ipad but I think this Chromebook just won me over ! In high school we were given the cheapest chrome books that HP makes and that turned me against them because it was a piece of junk literally . Slow, no storage, terrible display, etc. But this is completely different ! I love the display, backlit keyboard, the fact that it is a 2-in-1 and flips SO smoothly ! It runs super fast and the fan has not been noisy yet and I’ve had multiple apps open at one time. I don’t know if I will ever go back to a MacBook after purchasing this ! Another thing I like is it’s very appealing and is made kind of like a MacBook Air . Overall, if you’re thinking about getting it but on the fence just get it ! You won’t regret it . Pros: Battery life, Display, sound quality, speed/processing, size, sleekness/appearance Cons: Really the only thing that would make it better is no Fan, but it’s not a huge thing

Bluetooth connection to an Audio output Very Poor

One might expect a Bluetooth connected Audio output to actually work. Was able to pair two different devices. However, either the buffering is really screwed up, or God knows what, because there are no driver updates available and the online Help Portal is useless. The two devices: fairly recent Bose headphones and new Samsung Soundbar. These two devices work excellently with my Android phone, but have all kinds of issues with this HP Chromebook. I hate to inform you, Bluetooth Audio doesn't make any announcements worth hearing.

This is my 3rd chromebook, i returned a Lenovo Flex 5 chromebook that have like 2 months in the market as soon as i found this beauty, for the price/value and the 8GB Ram.. Now about the machine none of the pictures here make justice to the actual laptop, is strong good looking, is fast, fan ..what fan? didnt notice yet and worked hard with it since arrived, gorilla glass is a plus, when on sleep mode the finger sensor is so helpful better that type my whole long password, i still doesn't understand buying this thinking it will be a old fashion windows pc, dont waste time and money doing so.. do a little research they are 3 levels of Chromebooks first cheap hardware most appropriate for students, the 2nd level what is call the sweet spot with a range of laptops pretty good looking and with a good hardware, just keep in mind that chromebook doesn't require that much of processor (no heavy software installed) or Ram (a lot of web base programs/app no running inside the machine) and not much hard drive because a lot of what we do here will be save on a cloud .. so will be ignorant of somebody to compare a windows 10 laptop with any of the chromebooks available today, ... oh the 3rd level of chromebooks out there are really pricey and kind of unnecessary waste of money, dont try to replace a MacBook to do architect jobs in a chromebook to come and leave bad reviews.

    PIECE OF JUNK!!!!!

Bought this new from Best Buy. Used it 3 or 4 times and then it stopped connecting to the internet. Sent it back to HP to get fixed. HP replaced the main board and sent it back today. Guess what, it won’t connect to the internet!!! Called HP again and they opened a second repair case number for me and now I have to ship it back again for a second repair. The worst part is I can’t return it to Nest Buy because I’m outside the return window and HP will only do repairs, not replace or refund my money. I haven’t used the Chromebook more than a couple of hours since purchasing it new. Total pice of junk! We run 3 smart TVs, 3 cell phones, 3 iPads, and two computers on our WiFi with zero issues getting those devices to connect and stay connected to WiFi. Internet speed test showed 179.6 download speed and 7.16 upload.

A PERFECT Student Laptop! Heck For Anyone Really.

I have been using Chromebooks since the originals came out in 2011. I used them personally and my students used them as their school computers (I'm a High School teacher). I have always been on the fence about them. They are great for research and collaboration, but early on the lack of anything really beyond the suite of Google programs kind of boxed them in. They also tended to be wildly underpowered to do much of any multi-tasking (heck, some were even brought to their knees by multi-tabbing in Chrome). I've been really excited to see the push towards more powerful Chromebooks with better processors, screens, build-quality, and software. Google's Pixelbook was and is a phenomenal machine but was priced a bit too high. Other companies like HP have done an outstanding job of dialing back the price but still maintaining a phenomenal quality level. While this x360 only has a Core i3, that is like an i7 for a Windows box. That and the 8gb of DDR4 RAM, make this thing a beast when it comes to general everyday work and some fun video watching as well. The keyboard is great, with a really nice feel while typing. I have a little two-line blurb that I always use to test out whether or not I like a keyboard and depending on how many typos I make, I can usually get a good feel if I will like it in the long run. Only had one typo on this keyboard which is outstanding because I type incredibly fast and one or two typos happens on the best keyboards! The trackpad is spacious and responsive, though I still hate trackpads and I have a bluetooth mouse that I use with this and it works great. As for software, now that Chrome has MS Office apps and other non-Google offerings, this is an incredibly versatile computer. While the Google suite is great for collaboration, Microsoft has also made great strides in boosting the ability to collaborate through Office and I much prefer my students to do presentations and such in PowerPoint than in Slides. I think MS Office is much more versatile (though the Google apps are getting better), and I think MS Office skills are an important skill for students to learn. Students nowadays may be incredibly skilled in social media but you would be surprised at how lacking they are in actually using many mainstream programs. I absolutely blow their minds when I show them how Word can do a bibliography for them. The number of ports is great with a USB-C port on either side that can also be used as the power port. This is actually one of my favorite things about the move to USB-C is that more and more manufacturers make it easy to have the power cord go to either side. I wouldn't buy a computer in the past that had the power plug on the right since it typically interfered with my mouse usage. I know lefties that don't like it on the right since they often have notebooks or other things on that side of the computer. I'm a lefty too but I don't write anymore (my handwriting is atrocious and I have since learned just to type things up really, really fast). The HP x360 also has a USB-A plug which makes it easy to use thumb-drives and other peripherals. Also included in a micro-SD slot which makes storage a non issue for this computer. While it has 64gb of eMMC storage, I have all my files either in the cloud or on my SD card (typically both). 128gb micro-SD cards are incredibly cheap nowadays and so storage is virtually unlimited for this thing. I have only two complaints for this as a student laptop: 1 - It is a lot heavier than the basic Chromebooks. Not ridiculously so, but when you are already lugging a ton of books, every little bit counts. That being said, it is because this thing is built so well that it is as hefty as it is. I would much rather it be built well and weigh more than it be made of plastic and break easily. If this computer is mostly going to stay stationary on a desk, this becomes a non-issue as well. 2 - The lid of this thing is white and beautiful with a really nice texture to it. It is also going to get dirty beyond belief. I haven't gotten it dirty yet, so I don't know how easy it will be to clean and I don't feel like testing it out just to see. I would have been happy with the Cloud Blue all over, though the white lid and cloud blue deck is really nice. If you have a student that needs a great computer that is going to be able to handle pretty much anything you throw at it (short of games of course), this is an outstanding choice. If you are just a casual computer user and just want a nice laptop with a really good keyboard that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the HP x360 is a great choice. Kuddos to HP for making a Chromebook that I can unequivocally endorse for my students.
