A monitor with adjustability and quality display

This HP monitor is an LCD display panel with active matrix and in-plane switching (IPS). AMD FreeSync (AMD Adaptive Sync) helps displays eliminate screen tearing and stuttering by synchronizing the monitor’s 75Hz refresh rate. Display features also include anti-glare and HP Eye Ease that reduces blue light without impacting color accuracy. Perfect for people who spend long hours in front of a computer! The Auto Image adjustments are intuitive, providing great picture quality and color accuracy.
The monitor was so easy to set up and I was using it immediately. It has a slim, stylishly sleek profile with a thin bezel maximizing the display. The screen resolution is 1920 x 1080 FHD (full high definition). Contrast ratio is 1000:1 while Aspect ratio is 16:9. Response time is 5ms GtG (with overdrive). With the 23.8” screen, it fits on my desk without taking up too much space, but the screen is large enough to show multiple files.
What I like about this model versus my other HP monitor is that it offers height and tilt adjustability (178 degrees horizontal and vertical angles). The other HP monitor only offers tilts. Height and tilt adjustment sets it to a comfortable eye level for all users. I am replacing a Lenovo monitor that has that option, so it was a “must-have” when I was scouting out a new monitor. The HP M24h monitor’s ultra-wide viewing angles make it adaptable for a sitting or standing position or moving from side to side.
The cable containment feature hides the cord in the mount to keep it from getting entangled with other cables and cords. The monitor comes with an HDMI cable and A/C power cord with 25W power adapter.
The control buttons are located under the monitor and easily accessible. The OSD menu lets you customize the viewing features of the monitor with these settings: brightness, color, image, input, power, menu, management, information, exit. There is a power light to let you know if the unit is on, off, or in sleep state. While the function buttons are pre-assigned, you can reassign the function buttons to quickly access your most commonly used menu items.
As we are now back in the brick-and-mortar office full-time, I had to return the docking station and monitor to my employer I had been using since the pandemic. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on replacements, but I wanted a quality product that suited my needs. I am not a gamer, so I didn’t need a curved screen, headphone jack or integrated speakers. That is good, because this model doesn’t have any of those options.
My rating of a 4 is because there is no DisplayPort Input. The interface is VGA and HDMI only. I am surprised that a new product doesn’t come with that as that is the way technology is headed. A DisplayPort makes it possible to daisy chain monitors together to connect them to the PC. I ended up purchasing a docking station that came with 2 HDMI ports (one for each monitor) so I could hook up both monitors. Important to know that while it connects to your laptop via VGA or HDMI port, only an HDMI cable is included. I also could not rotate the screen vertically which would have been a nice addition.
This monitor doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a high-end model, but the display and screen adjustability are great.

Bright, colorful and clear

The M24h is really bright, with great colors and contrast. Text is easier to read and video content looks amazing. The type of display in here is called “IPS”, which in my opinion is the best looking panel type out there. Lower quality displays use a “TN” or “VA” panel, but I’m an IPS fan 😊. This screen also has an anti-glare finish which really does help with bright or sunny rooms.
You will see many monitors out there advertising their refresh rates. This roughly corresponds to frames per second or “fps”. The faster your monitor can draw each frame (screenful) then show the next, the smoother and cleaner the picture when gaming. Higher refresh rates do also make everyday use more pleasant, with smoother window and mouse cursor movement, the reduced flicker is always good for your eyes. This screen at 60Hz (standard from the box) worked well for me. The monitor will “overclock” to around 75Hz for theoretically smoother movement on screen, but I was only able to see a small difference. If you’re using a laptop, for instance, with a docking station and a couple of external monitors on integrated Intel graphics, I don’t think you’ll see quite the advantage to the higher refresh rates as you would with dedicated graphics from Nvidia or AMD. The 75Hz refresh rate will be cleaner and more consistent then. I would imagine this would be much nicer for gaming with fast paced games, which are not really my thing. Playing Ubisoft games on here is gorgeous, the landscapes look so nice and I’m able to see more detail in the mid- to background due to the great colors and contrast.
The height adjustable stand is a nice addition, though the adjustment is up and down only and there is about 3.5” of movement available for you. I have to say I much prefer a larger amount of adjustability since I’m tall and I try to get my screens up high for proper seating position.
Connectivity is probably the most disappointing aspect on this monitor. There is a VGA port and an HDMI port. That’s it. It’s 2023, why is there a VGA port on this monitor? There is a distinct difference in picture quality between the VGA and HDMI connections, I highly recommend HDMI. The other connectivity gripe I have is the ports on the back of the monitor are rear-facing; once again, it’s 2023, engineer the ports to point downward to reduce strain on cables and especially connectors, as the cord loop on the stand puts a bend on the cables that immediately adds downward force on the connections.
My last gripe is the power adapter, the cable is too short. The adapter is hanging behind my desk because the distance from the monitor power plug to the adapter is too short to reach the floor, also adding downward strain to another connection on the back of the monitor. This is supposed to be a grown-up computing component, not a toy. Nothing but penny-pinching on a well performing part that deserves better.
Even with my little complaints, this is an excellent monitor for office use and lighter gaming and has been declared by my wife to be her favorite monitor she’s had. I would recommend this monitor with small reservations.

This monitor is easily one of my favorite that I've used in the recent past. It's feature rich and the price is right. It's practically bezel less and It's fully adjustable height and tilt. The monitor also has low blue light which protects your eyes full 1080p resolution with IPS technology in plane switching. Monitor supports AMD freesync and it's energy star rated. The colors on the monitor seem to be extremely accurate and there's some decent adjustments and settings in the menu options. In the box you will receive a power cord. HDMI cable detachable stand in case you want a wall mount it or Visa mounted on a different stand. As far as inputs go you get one HDMI, one VGA and one power port. Assembly was very straightforward and easy to put the base on the monitor. I would recommend this monitor as a standalone unit or being paired with two or three for a great work from home experience, which is what I believe this monitor to be targeted towards is someone who would want to work from home or school from home. I wouldn't recommend this monitor for gaming but all in all I give it a 8.5 out of 10

The HP 24” IPS LED FHD FreeSync Monitor delivers excellent value in the mid-range display category. Its IPS panel provides accurate color reproduction and wide viewing angles, making it well-suited for productivity tasks, content consumption, and light creative work. At 1080p resolution, text and visuals appear sharp without straining system resources.
Ergonomics are a standout feature: the height-adjustable stand allows for proper desk setup, improving posture and reducing fatigue during extended sessions. Connectivity is straightforward with HDMI and VGA, covering both modern and legacy devices. FreeSync support adds smoothness for gaming, minimizing screen tearing and stuttering.
Overall, this model balances performance, ergonomics, and design. While not intended for professional-grade color work or 4K-level detail, it excels as a daily driver for office use, media, and casual gaming.

I recently snagged this fantastic computer monitor on Black Friday, and it’s been a game-changer. The sale made it an irresistible deal, and the monitor exceeded my expectations. The display quality is sharp and vibrant, making both work and entertainment a visual delight. The colors are accurate, and the resolution is perfect for everything from graphic design to streaming. The build is solid, and it fits seamlessly into my workspace. The added bonus of getting it at such a great price just made it even better. Overall, it’s a top-notch monitor that delivers excellent performance and exceptional value.

Technology continues to advance leaps and bounds. However, I have been resistant to updating my second monitor. Everything works fine, the monitor looked clear, so why update? First and foremost, the real-estate on this HP - 24" IPS Freesync Monitor is very impressive. I use my laptop and monitor primarily for work, and while completing some work recently, I realized that not only can I fit two whole document pages on my screen at once. When comparing multiple documents, the additional width allows one screen to fit multiple windows with minimal size reduction. But size isn't everything. The clarity improvement is like night and day -- literally, there are different features where I can change setting depending on the time. These additional settings have allowed me to work later without any eyestrain.
I also really enjoy that it is nearly bezel-less. I don't have a great deal of room on my desk, so the fact that it takes up so little real estate is a necessity for me.
I have included pictures where you can see my laptop fits seamlessly under the monitor. But if you want a different setup, you can adjust the height by a few inches. My prior setup resulted in my laptop screen and monitor to be disjointed -- but this problem was completely remedied due to these different features.
So while I have found this to be a massive upgrade, it's my gamer son who is maybe even more impressed by this monitor. He continues to ask if he can play his games in my office. I asked him why it's so much better and he said the clarity of this monitor and the size is so much bigger than his laptop screen, he's become vastly improved and now his friends want to play with him even more -- who knew this new monitor would have the added benefit of improving my son's confidence?
Now I just need to decide whether we will continue to share a monitor or if he gets this one and I size up to the even larger 27".

I purchased this screen to use with my Macbook air and it works great! The HDMI cable is already included and I got an adapter to be able to connect it. The screen is a great size and it has an adjustable base. I love it and the prize was not bad either.

I purchased two open box units for store pickup during a sale for roughly $90 each. The monitor in "Excellent Condition" was loosely wrapped in bubble wrap and had its power cable, but did not have an HDMI cable. The Best Buy supervisor marked down a 3' Insignia cable so I could get buy. The monitor in "Good Condition" came in its original box wrapped in plastic with all its original accessories and paperwork. Both were in good condition and work flawlessly, but you can't predict what various condition levels actually mean.
Since I'm using them next to each other, I had to take some time to tinker with the color settings, as one monitor was showing more blue and green than the other. Once calibrated, though, both look great next to each other.
I heard other reviewers mention budget monitors struggle with being too dim to see well during the day, but I haven't had any issues. Even with a large bay window directly behind my desk, the monitors are bright enough for me to see perfectly. When the sun isn't directly staring me in the eye, I turn the brightness down to around 40% to reduce eye strain and down to 0% at night while I'm studying.
The controls on the monitors make sense: there are four settings buttons (enter, up, down, back) and a power button with a small unobtrusive LED. The menus make sense, and there is enough control over color to make me happy with some basic presets that should work for most situations.
The monitors are compatible with DDC controls, so while the menus are fine, I typically control the monitors' brightness with software like Better Monitor. Be aware that if you are plugging the monitors into a USB hub that does not support DDC passthrough, you won't be able to use software to control the monitors.
The tilt and adjustable height are really handy to help the monitors fit into your desk set up.
All in all, absolutely would purchase again.

I use a laptop 15.6" and was considering an all in one pc in the future, but decided to just use the laptop HDMI connection with this 24" Display Monitor instead. Works great with big screen. The Height adjustment helps set at proper eye level Display is good. It took some effort to learn how to adjust the brightness. Happy overall.

I purchased this monitor in a hurry after my old one gave out on me. This review isn't a deep dive into the specs, but just a casual take on what I was after.
The design on the base is sleek and the monitor itself is super slim. Adjusting the height and tilt is also easy, plus its lightweight and easy to move around. Took no time at all to get it into the right position.
Color and display took a slight bit of tweaking, but after just a few minutes it looks pretty good. My eyes are also sensitive to brightness, but that was just another easy adjustment to get it comfortable.
It's been going without a hitch ever since with no issues or complaints. Came through when I needed it and was a real life saver at a reasonable price for what it offers.

Good Monitor! Got this monitor as an accompaniment for my daughters tablet/laptop as she needed an addtional screen for school work and it works excellent for her needs. It was a quick and easy set up, we just needed to purchase a converter so that it would connect but the screen is very clear does not take up a lot of workspace on her desk; the monitor itself is sleek and fits well with her aesthetic.
