I decided to try this HP IPS monitor because my previous monitor died and I needed more screen space than my laptop screen provides. My previous monitor was 28", so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to adjust to the smaller 24" HP... however, so far, I haven't really missed the extra screen space. I primarily use my laptop for coding, and this HP monitor seems to be much easier on my eyes; the preset Viewing Modes make it fairly effortless to change the color settings to reduce eye strain throughout the day. The color reproduction is also better than my old monitor, as well as the viewing angle. On my previous monitor, colors were good, but they would change quite a bit if viewing the monitor from any angle, and text was a bit blurry when not viewed from almost directly infront of the monitor. This HP monitor has much better color reproduction and as long as your eyes are in line with the middle of the screen, viewing from almost any angle appears to have no effect on color and minimal effect on text; viewing from above does alters brightness a bit, but colors are still accurate. This monitor also has FreeSync, but I can't really test it since all of my machines have NVidia cards. I have turned FreeSync on to see what would happen, and although I assume it doesn't really do anything, it also doesn't seem to cause any issues. I have also played several online games and I haven't really seen any issues with graphics tearing or motion blur, so I would think it would be fine for most gamers unless you're a hardcore FPS player. One big benefit of this monitor that I wasn't expecting, but that I'm nonetheless happy about, is the small footprint; it's extremely thin, and the way the base is designed, after I start my laptop and close it, I can slide it a good 5" underneath the monitor, which allows me to reclaim a rather large portion of my desk. Overall, I think this is a very capable, basic monitor, especially for the price.

I've used several different styles of monitors, but this one is just about perfect for all my particular needs. It's compact, provides a crisp picture, and connects easily through HDMI. I think the feature I like the best about this monitor is its small footprint. It has a very thin bezel and a small stand so if you have a compact desk, like me, it's perfect as an external monitor. Prior to using this monitor, I had a 34-inch Ultrawide from a different company. While I enjoyed it's immense screen real estate, It was just far too large for my desk. This 24-inch beauty is ideal for me. I use this monitor for basic productivity tasks like email, word processing, spreadsheets, PPT presentations, and watching videos. It has 1080P resolution and that's perfect for this type of work in my opinion. Even though it has a lot of features, it's essentially a high-quality, basic monitor. I don't feel that gamers would enjoy it as much because it only has a 75Hz refresh rate. For the price point, I would definitely recommend this to users of all types. It does have an IPS screen and wide viewing angle, which makes it appealing even for users who do photo and video editing. The colors and brightness look great and aren't washed out. The set-up of the monitor was super easy. The stand is only two pieces and once it's assembled and attached to the monitor screen, you're ready to connect cables. I ended up connecting my laptop through a docking station and I haven't experienced any issues with connection or lag.

I'm connecting to a MacBook pro and text is fuzzy on display. Has anyone else encountered this?? HP wants $50 to chat with customer service. "Image Scaling" is grayed out on the monitor settings. Any advice?

While the display is large and clear, the construction of this monitor is terrible. It is designed to tilt forward or back and on day 3 of owning this monitor the display cracked when I went to tilt it. This isn't even worth the low-ish price. I was extremely disappointed and returned the product for a full refund which I put towards another Best Buy device.

This monitor was an inexpensive choice but I did not expect it to tail a little over three months after purchase. And yet it did. It developed what the user manual describes as "permanent gray swaths or bands across the screen." The manual also describe this as indicative of the polarizing feature being "damaged or not aligned correctly."

I had great expectations for this monitor. Not long after I started using it green shade appeared on the corners of the screen, especially visible when the monitor shows a full black background. Not happy at all.

I ordered this monitor because it was available for Open Box rated as Excellent. It arrived and I set it up and they was a huge black spot in the screen. I will be returning it. Just be careful because although it says excellent that doesn't mean that it is.

It’s been a great monitor for me for years now. Only gripe I have with it is that it doesn’t have two HDMI cables or audio outputs but honestly you know that going in and it’s great

For the past year or so I've been using my 4K television for a computer monitor which has been a lot of fun. However, it made for a pretty impractical setup since I had to make many accommodations to make that type of arrangement work. I really wanted to find a good monitor so that I could move my desktop to a more dedicated area in the house. This monitor from HP fits that role very well. It has an extremely small footprint owed to the very thin bezel, small stand footprint, and ultra thin design. In reality, this monitor is actually smaller in size than a previous 21.5" monitor I had. At 1080p resolution, it's not a significant step down in resolution from my TV. I do want to stress that, for all it's features, this is a pretty basic monitor. It only allows for pitch adjustment and even that adjustment is pretty limited. It does have AMD's FreeSync ability but with a maximum refresh rate of 75 Hz, even casual gamers will want to look somewhere else if they have the budget. That said, there are a lot of excellent features. As I mentioned earlier, the bezel is extremely thin which is aesthetically pleasing as well as ideal for anyone who might want to give themselves the ability to run a multi-monitor setup. The picture quality is good out of the box and the IPS panel makes for great viewing angle accuracy and good screen uniformity. The small footprint of the stand allows for me to tuck my Logitech keyboard (albeit with the feet down to allow for more room under it) up under the monitor and out of the way when I'm not using the computer. There are plenty of picture adjustments to suit anyone's preferences. For this price point, I was pleasantly surprised by the value I felt the 24f offered. I wasn't really quite expecting to be able to get something with this suite of features at this price.

I wasn't sure what kind of monitor I wanted, but after working with Alex in the store he showed me several different models ranging in quality and price and finally decided on this one as it was inexpensive, the screen was large and the quality, even though not as good as the new MacBook Pro I had purchased, was just what I needed to get work done.

    Perfect for Home Monitor

This monitor is perfect for work-from-home or virtual learning. the bezels are small along the top and sides and the base does not take up a lot of space. It's the right size if you would like to purchase a 2nd monitor for dual monitors. This is not a 5k monitor like the very high end monitors that are expensive. This is not what you are getting. What you get is a quality display for a good price that simply allows you to have more screen real estate instead of using your Chromebook or laptop screen. This also not VESA compatible, so this is basically to be stood up on the tabletop and not mounted to monitor mounting arms. In summary, this is the perfect affordable, but good quality home monitor for someone who does not need a really high resolution (4k or 5k) screen and color technology.

I bought 4 of these monitors to set up 2 dual-monitor work stations for working at home. I edit documents, read email, participate in video conferences, etc. I don't use these monitors for games or movies. They're perfect for what I needed. I got them on sale at BB for $109 ea. They subsequently went on sale for $99 within the return period, so I asked BB for the price match. BB has a strange policy that if you buy more than one of the same product in the same order, they will only price match one of the products. In my case, I bought two of these monitors in one order and BB would only price match one of them? What's up with that that policy BB? It seems unfair to an average guy like me. Anyway, lesson learned, if you buy more than one of the same product, buy each one in a separate transaction.

For what this is, it's a 5 star monitor. It's value oriented so no internal speakers and no VESA mounting option. You can adjust tilt but not height. Standard 1080P/60hz monitor. If you're looking to game, obviously go with something more high end. But I bought it for the Mrs for film conversion, light editing and light games. I've played Destiny 2 on it and I think it looks great for what it is. While his monitor doesn't have a height adjustment, I think a monitor stand to create more desk space would bring this up to an appropriate height. So yeah, it's a great monitor for what it is, comparing it to no specific brand or style. HP made a good "I just need a monitor to work on" with this one. If your needs are simple, this is for you.
