    Monitor broke after two months

The monitor developed horizontal lines at the bottom of the screen after only two months. The return period expired so I have to deal with a warranty replacement with HP. It is a nightmare. They were supposed to send me a box so I can send the monitor back to them and only then will they send me a new monitor. I am still waiting for them to send me the box.

I’ve been using the HP 27" IPS LED FHD 100Hz Monitor for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. The picture quality is sharp and vibrant—colors look true-to-life, and the IPS panel means I get great viewing angles whether I’m working at my desk or watching videos from across the room. The 100Hz refresh rate is a nice upgrade from my old monitor—scrolling feels buttery smooth, and casual gaming is a lot more enjoyable. Adjustable height is a game changer for my setup. I can finally line up the screen right at eye level, which has made long workdays much more comfortable. The build quality feels solid, and the silver and black design looks sleek without being flashy. Setup was a breeze—plugged in via HDMI and it worked right out of the box. There’s also a VGA port, which is a nice bonus if you’re connecting older devices. Overall, if you’re looking for a reliable, good-looking monitor for work, streaming, or light gaming, this HP model is a fantastic choice. Highly recommended!

HP Series 5 Model 527sh 27" LED 1080p Full HD Height Adjustable Monitor This sleek large display has very narrow bezels, supports a 100Hz refresh rate, gives a good 5ms response time for gamers and includes an HDMI cable in the box. It has two HDMI and 1 VGA video inputs on the back panel. There are no speakers nor does the back panel have any audio output port. Some specs from the HP website as of Mar 1 2024: Resolution is 1920 X 1080; contrast ration of 1,500:1; aspect ration of 16:9; brightness of 300 nits; response time of 5ms GtG with overdrive; it measures 24” wide and 17” wide if concerned about fitting into a limited desk unit. Resolutions supported: 640 x 480; 720 x 400; 800 x 600; 1024 x 768; 1280 x 720; 1280 x 800; 1280 x 1024; 1440 x 900; 1600 x 900; 1680 x 1050; 1920 x 1080 It includes a compact rectangular shaped silver stand which allows a small tilt functions as well as height adjustment. It was very easy to attach the stand to the monitor upon unpacking it out of the total cardboard box it is shipped in. No Styrofoam in the packaging; only recyclable cardboard. It is made in China. By the way, the supplied stand needs to be used; the back has no VESA standard threaded screw holes for using one of the wall or desk mount monitor stands. The monitor is supplied with a very small AC adapter producing 12 V DC that plugs into the bottom of the monitor with a barrel plug. It uses approximately 19 watts when in use; less if the brightness is not full blast. The picture quality is very good with computer use via either the HDMI or VGA inputs. I was able to use the OSD with the bottom right edge control buttons to adjust the brightness and contrast to my liking. It was set to a very high brightness level and 100 contrast level from the box. I also connected the monitor via HDMI to a gaming laptop and the display screen is very detailed for games I tried with it. I also played Hulu and Prime Video TV and movies on it using the same gaming laptop and the image quality is very detailed (sound played through the laptop speakers; as reported above the monitor does not have speakers). It has settings for Low Blue Light level which is important if using any monitor late in the evening before going to sleep. Studies imply that Blue Light before bed time inhibits sleep. The box also indicates that it uses recycled plastics in its manufacture; 85% post-consumer plastic and 5% ocean-bound plastic. It has a 1 year warranty from HP. I would readily recommend this PC monitor to anyone considering it is a great basic 1920 x 1080 LED monitor at a very reasonable price as is typical of the many HP monitors.

I have owned many monitors over the past few decades, some of which were made my HP, and this one is certainly one of the best HP monitors I have owned. It's not high-end, but has good features that make it a good purchase for the price. Pros: - This monitor is engineered to be easily assembled. While the directions were not 100% clear, anyone can figure out how to assemble the base quite easily as it has 3 pre-seated screws that only need to be tightened and you are done. - This monitor, so far, has mostly been used as a screen extension for a work laptop. Having the extra 27" of real estate in order to multi-task more easily has been a life saver. I have also used it with a gaming laptop and was very pleased with the quality of gameplay. The 100Hz refresh rate was more than enough for smooth and impressive visuals. - Other features that I really liked with this monitor include the wonderful base design that allows you to raise and lower the monitor very easily, the 2nd HDMI port, and the almost non-existent bezel giving it a beautiful look. The screen can also tilt. Cons: - None, at this price point. This is a terrific monitor for anyone looking for strong performance at a solid price. You can get better features than this, but it will cost you a lot more. It's not the best screen for high-end gaming, but is perfect for casual gaming or personal/work use.

Solid FHD monitor with HDMI inputs

The HP 527s monitor is a solid 27” screen for a work or light gaming setup, or a 2nd screen for a laptop with HDMI outputs. The IPS screen is good for viewing angles although the black levels aren’t great but this monitor also does 100Hz which is nice for light gaming and even noticeable when mousing and moving windows around on the desktop. The monitor housing itself has super thin bezels and is extremely thin as well from the side profile. There is a bit of a bump at the bottom to house the electronics but this is a thin and light panel that is solidly built even if it is mostly plastic. The base is metal and plastic and is easily assembled and also allows for vertical adjustment which is always a bonus. There is also limited left and right swivel. The main reason I like this monitor however for my desktop is for a 2nd screen to allow Dolby Atmos to be enabled from my Nvidia GPU, through my Atmos sound bar which then needs to pass through and terminate video to a “TV resolution and refresh”. That means either FHD or 4K, without 1080p/60Hz or 4K/60, the HDCP handshake isn’t completed for Atmos audio. Happy with the monitor and it looks great for what I need it for!

    Great Borderless Monitor

The 27 inch HP Full High Def Series 5 is a strong performer for the consumer. The borderless monitor with adjustable height make is a snap to mate it with other monitors when using a dual monitor setup or by itself. Great for all uses with the incredible refresh rate of 100 MHz the 1920X180 screen really makes objects pop. The built in blue light reducer makes it great for long days at the computer. Your eyes will thank you. Video gaming and working on photos is nice, especially with the high refresh rate. The Hdmi/Vga ports work with new and older PCs. Both the HDMI and The VGA cables are included in the box which saves you for hunting for them when you are setting it up. To get the most out of your Monitor, download the HP Display center to tweak the monitor the way you need it to before your setting. The on board buttons for the monitor menu are easy and user friendly and offer: Brightness, Color, Image Input, Power Management controls. The monitor was very easy to set up and tweak to my needs. Unboxing of this monitor showed me how far these have come. I have and have had several monitors that over the years get smaller and thinner, but this one is amazing at how thin it is! This is a newer model where the bottom of the monitor is a bit more than an inch to account for the inputs, etc., but the actual monitor surface is really only about 1/2in or less. It is sleek and the combo of Black and Silver is a nice touch at this price point. To control it, easily download the HP Display Center app from Microsoft’s app store. You can adjust color, contrast, Blue Light, Sharpness. You also have selections on Color, Inputs (2HDMI included), Advanced Options and Color Filter as well as the ability to adjust the Black Stretch. The stand is very nice because you can easily just lightly pull up or down to raise or lower the monitor which is nice without having to lock or unlock anything to do it. It comes with up to 100Hz refresh rate as well. Overall, this is a beautiful monitor for its size and features, especially at this price point. Being that you can easily adjust the height and apply the blue light feature if your working late into the evening, it’s a great monitor and I would highly recommend it.

The 27" IPS LED 100Hz monitor is really sleek looking. It's quite light weight given it's size and very thin (aside from the lower portion of the rear). The bezel is almost non existant along the top and sides. It features 2 hdmi ports and vga. Would have preferred display port in addition or in lieu of vga, but given the price point, it probably helps appeal to more masses by including those with older systems Very easy to adjust. Only needs the softest touches to tilt and slide up and down. One thing I didn't care for was that the barrel of the power connector doesn't sit flush when connected. It makes it look like it's not all the way in and it also feels loose like something could break off or it could fall out if jostled Picture is quite nice. Not game changing, blow your mind, but for the average user, it's great with it's clear picture and nice resolution. There is plenty of real estate if you've got a lot of multi tasking to do. I can snap panes easily and each window has a good size to interact with. I typically use two windows at a time, but given the size I can comfortably use 3 panes for my tasks

I have this monitor for use in a home office setup. I've found over the years that HP Z Book laptops work best with HP monitors. This has good resolution for Excel Spreadsheets and data analysis. It's thin and lightweight. The only downside is not being able to use a monitor arm or mount with it due to the lack of VESA mounting holes.

Monitors setup was easy; screen display was excellent. One thing I am not sure about is how the stand mount works when you want to use arms to eliminate the stand. typical setup and was recognized by Windows 11 immediately. Seems to be a good product for the price.

I am incredibly impressed with the HP 27" IPS LED FHD monitor. It has exceeded my expectations and offers a fantastic balance of features, performance, and value. This is a five-star product, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great display for their home office or general use. The picture quality on this monitor is truly excellent. The 27-inch IPS panel produces vibrant, accurate colors and has excellent viewing angles, so the picture looks great no matter where I'm sitting. The Full HD (1080p) resolution is crisp and clear, making text sharp and easy to read during long work sessions. Watching videos and movies on this screen is a pleasure, and the colors really pop.

The HP 527sh is a wonderful monitor at a nice price point. Packaging is secure and protective and it comes with everything you need, including a HDMI cable. Setting up is ridiculously fast and uncomplicated! I honestly was dreading this part but they have this down to an easy science with the easy turn screws and a quick slide into place. The power cord is plenty long with a light rectangular adapter. I plugged it in, pushed the power button on the lower right hand corner and instantly had a great picture that was easy on my eyes. With the eyesafe feature it does feel soft on my eyes, in a good way. With a 27 inch screen it feels great to work on, when someone is sharing their screen with me I can see perfect, I don't have to squint or ask them to make it bigger. It also has tilt and height adjustment which makes it even better. I highly recommend this monitor. In fact, I intend to buy another for my home office set up so I'll have two matching awesome monitors to work from. It'll be the perfect set up.

Prior to this monitor, I was using a standard format 4x5 monitor, which I preferred over wide screen monitors I've had in the past. But, I got a new computer, and decided to give a larger wide screen monitor a try. I actually like this one quite a bit. I had to rearrange my desk a little to accommodate it, but it was worth the effort. The screen is big, brightness and contrast are good, good resolution, and colors. Really the only thing I don't like about it is the placement of the power button. It's up under the screen down on the right side, and sometimes a little hard to find. I don't see why it could have been down on the bottom front where it's a little easier to access, but it's a small thing I suppose. Other than that, I'd highly recommend the monitor and it's a good value for the price.
